  1. I learned on the morning radio, that they keep track of the audience for what are called "reaction shots". Jack Nicholson won that, with 11.
  2. Wife 'n me saw it last week. Good movie - dialog is in Spanish, English sub-titles.
  3. I wouldn't care to pay Fletcher big bucks either. The chronic reality is, that this team has little bench, regardless of position. They were fortunate that the slew of injuries that fell on other clubs passed by.
  4. I've enjoyed and appreciated your commentary, my friend!
  5. Congrats! A few tips about billeting to out-of-they way places: Pack the luggage with quantities of peanuts...dry roasted and conventional greasy jobs. Fats and proteins. Also sufficient multi-vitamins - Centrum, One-a-Day etc. Juicy Fruit chewing gum, too. Sugar content. And hard candy. None of the no-sugar stuff. Band-aids and a tube of neosporin. Some of the diarrhea tablets, Tums usw. Plenty of other stuff, but I'm sure you have your list. Don't eschew the local remedies. You do face a period of dietary adjustment.
  6. The club went 5 -3 in their last 8 games. Whatever the stats were.
  7. It's within the realm that folks don't care for their employer or the employees on staff. See Gary Anderson.
  8. Ever-thinning hair. If I somehow survive the next few years, I will be a member of the routinely ridiculed comb-over crowd. But that is no problem, for I adhere to Thoreau's concept of food, clothing, shelter, and heat being the chief necessities. Whatever natty appearance I may show is strictly due to my wife's kindly intervention.
  9. Wisconsin had a couple of starters get injured and out during the game. Nice for OSU getting the win, but I suspect their #1 status is assailable.
  10. Indeed...that was my point. A Pro Football 101 topic, these days.

  12. When was the last time you warmed a conservative's dinner? A religious fellow's dinner? Since you seem to be claiming as a superior person... Paraphrasing Billy Crystal... "Thank You, Commie". Just be sure if you get injured, the ambulance driver doesn't haul you to one of those hospitals names Mercy or Sisters or St. Francis or some such. No doubt, you will refuse treatment and prefer to die. I count on your consistency. Get rid of Notre Dame University. Shutter local Buffalo schools like Canisius, raze St. Bonnie and Niagara. Tear down those magnificent European villages and churches. Down with that architecture. Ban much of the vast body of great classical music. It dares to be religious. What saps the Christians were, eh?...husbanding man's intellectual works against the terror of the Dark Age...how dare they keep the sparks of education alive? Right..Bennie Frankie? You need to stop the billions of dollars that Christians put out for charitable works. Stop those evil folks that go all around the globe to help others without a grant from a government. Give me your better plan, Bennie Frankie...
  13. Perhaps the old adage - "The devil you know, better than the devil you don't"? Bum he may be, but assuming the re-sign carries a minimal re-signing bonus, they must line up someone better before gutting a roster. I don't suppose a subsequent cut of Anderson would break their bank, also.
  14. OK. If he falls out of that "generally retained" catagory, then go he must. I just point out that the usual practice is to retain. In timely fashion.
  15. Why? Every team generally puts out such tenders to their own younger players...unless there are some irreconcilable differences.
  16. He possibly might be a bit more perky if he had an Indy or SD line, or a Manning or a Palmer, or a Harrison and Wayne or a Johnson and Houshmanzedeh on the field at the same time. Possibly.
  17. My late father-in-law participated in bombing Jap positions in the Marshalls during WWII. What brings you there?
  18. Haven't they historically been one of the better attendance clubs? Given that the have fielded only a couple of powerful clubs since the SB runs, I'd say their local support has been remarkable.
  19. Buffalo can, and has certainly supported the franchise. Kirwan should have made comment on the NFL in general, and admitted that the latter is a notable exponent of the "one-way pocket"...
  20. Me too. NFL Network broadcasting college bowl games, the tv screen size flap, their extortions and threats that result in free stadiums, their wanting all tv cable customers to pay an extra fee regardless if most subscribers don't give a flying F about NFL football, changing traditional uniforms to cash in on trinket sales, demanding King Midas prices for cheesy food and drink, kicking out local video coverage of game action, trying to patent the English language, etc. etc. etc.
  21. Or analogous to a smaller condo owner spiffing up a property for sale because the other, more well-heeled owners dragged him into a continually rising maintenance cost contract.
  22. Perhaps that director is the new Oliver Stone. Documentaries aren't what they used to be - e.g "Fahrenheit 911, "Inconvenient Truth", and most recently, "Who Killed the Electric Car?". Theaters really should sell grape Kool-Aid...
