  1. How is you day going? I hope you're not stuck at work! http://www.crh.noaa.gov/forecast/MapClick....MN&site=MPX
  2. ...every problem has a perfect solution!
  3. Regardless, the Jets had a decent season.
  4. A childish reaction to your childish statement. I deleted it.
  5. Cincinnati has released Brian Simmons, OLB (plus played some MLB). He was drafted in the 1st round along with TKO in 1998. Tendered restricted free agents were guard Stacy Andrews, cornerback Greg Brooks, linebackers Landon Johnson and Caleb Miller, punter Kyle Larson and defensive tackle Shaun Smith. Andrews and Larson were tendered at 1.3 million and carry a 2nd round compensation requirement if signed elsewhere. The others were tendered at 850K. I suspect that LB's Johnson and Miller - 3rd round selections in 2004 - will generate some interest. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...SPT02/302280047
  6. "This is Houston. The final countdown sequence has begun."
  7. Yep...you have to follow the prep schedule that they give you to the absolute letter, with the gatorade and the 7-Up in my case. Getting one's electrolytes out of whack can have very serious consequences.
  8. Can't say about Moss, but I've heard an odd comment or two a while back that GB might be an improved team this season. Perhaps if that's so, it influenced Favre to stick around.
  9. Looks like KC will dump him to save $$$. I've no idea what the Fins would offer...a 4th round pick, maybe?
  10. Here's my run-up to the event: 12:30 PM - 16 oz. Gatorade. 1:00 PM - 1 1/2 ounce Fleet Phosphosoda in 8 oz. 7-Up with ice. 2:00 PM - 1st bowel movement. 2:10 PM - 2nd (I omit the descriptives). 3:05 PM - 3rd. 4:20 PM - 4th. 5:30 PM - 5th. 6:10 PM - 6th. Clarity. 6:15 PM - 2nd dose of Phosphosoda. 7:00 PM - 7th. 7:25 PM - 8th. 7:40 PM - 9th. 8:13 PM - 10th. 8:35 PM - 11th 9:20 PM - 4 ducolax tablets + 16 oz. Gatorade. 10:05 PM - 12th. 10:40 PM - 13th. The next day. 3:00 AM - 14th. 3:10 AM - 15th. 6:50 AM - 16th. 7:05 AM - 17th. Then I went to the hospital for the procedure. I don't recall any "loopiness". 17 trips to the can was sufficient to take thoughts of food off my mind.
  11. He had 2 carries for 2 yards last season. Maybe they're planning to unleash him this season.
  12. Really? I've often felt that your inate bonhomie is your best attribute.
  13. When Turner is on the field and Tomlinson is not, could be that the opposing defense is thinking a bit more about the pass....
  14. Don't you hold the copyright?
  15. I'd cast a ballot for the automobile cupholder. And I think a youngster would be wise to get into the medical audiology field.
  16. Thanks for the Anderson info!
  17. Dunno...is he a restricted FA? I'm certainly not sure... If he is, yes, a bidder has to give up the pick. That was what kept the B'gals wr Kelley Washington from being considered - he could be bought, at the added cost of giving up a 3rd round choice.
  18. Nope...a tender is just an offer. IIRC, there are 3 pre-determined dollar figures, too, for folks like Anderson and other 3rd rounders and less. There are also so-called vet minimums. The Bills can match other (higher) offers if they choose to do so. There would be no compensation for someone else signing Anderson, unless after all is done, the Bills lose more FA's than they signed. And that depends (I think) on the judged value of who they might lose.
  19. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2907021 "We need to stop endlessly repeating 'You're special' and having children repeat that back," said the study's lead author, Professor Jean Twenge of San Diego State University. "Kids are self-centered enough already." "Twenge, the author of "Generation Me: Why Today's Young Americans Are More Confident, Assertive, Entitled and More Miserable Than Ever Before," said narcissists tend to lack empathy, react aggressively to criticism and favor self-promotion over helping others." "The researchers traced the phenomenon back to what they called the "self-esteem movement" that emerged in the 1980s, asserting that the effort to build self-confidence had gone too far. As an example, Twenge cited a song commonly sung to the tune of "Frere Jacques" in preschool: "I am special, I am special. Look at me." Current technology fuels the increase in narcissism," Twenge said. "By its very name, MySpace encourages attention-seeking, as does YouTube."
  20. But Al hasn't gotten any dividends from his family's Tennessee zinc mining holdings for a couple of years now. Doesn't that count?
  21. PFW...what wags they are!
  22. There is something to be said for a pair of experienced eyes. Some time ago the B'gals signed OAK's cb Tory James. He got them 21 ints in his 2003 thru 2006 work for them. His career is coming to a close. He had his good plays, and like any cb he's been beaten badly time to time. He's surely out of gas now, and won't be back. But all in all, he was a good acquisition. Remember when they said Ron McDole was washed up?
  23. Welcome! I question trading WMG...but that would seem to be a nice deal for the Bills.
