  1. Dunno - but perhaps, some of the older vets around the league are having thoughts about what an uncapped year will be like whether its' better for them economically, to let themselves get cut, the possibility of a lock-out and the like. Lotsa unknowns... I do know that some up-and-coming players got it in the neck with the changes in FA status, the years before unrestricted FA and so on. I remember an article on one of the big tv sites chatting about that - IIRC one of them listing the ones affected mentioned DEN's DE Eric Dumervil. 2 cents.
  2. The Wright-Patterson AF Museum has one. If you're passing by Dayton, the Air Force Museum is a must-see.: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/exhibits/index.asp Luncheon with the Area 51 aliens or rides on black helicopters by appointment only!
  3. Trap. Trap. Off-tackle. Trap again. BTW - nice write-up on Dermontti Dawson: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2010050...helping+Bengals
  4. my advice...one fifth of spooju today, one pint of a jalap water dilution tomorrow. No GMPs applicable - like McNeil Labs, evidently....
  5. I'll add PFT's NFL Turd Watch lis. It's a fun read: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/turd-...police-blotter/
  6. All that's left is for you is to trust in that site's Privacy Statement, Disclaimer, and Legal Statement.
  7. I recommend you stay in the airport. Jaurez Airport has restaurants, bars, shops aplenty. There's plenty there to while away the time. 7 hours is quite a time - so drink, but don't fall asleep and miss the connecting flight! Most recent warning: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_mexico.html Today's State Dept. issuance. Be careful where you walk around in Mexico. Don't go roaming around for "yucks" and learn about the Mexico culture on your own. Get on a bus tour if that's what you want to do.
  8. To QB or not to QB - that is not the (only) question. 16 teams are rubbing their foreparts together at the prospect of facing another Bills' idea at an OL, unsettled QB spot, a sea change re defensive scheme, and a top pick that folks wax poetic about playing the slot, i.e. a Reggie Bush but without a Drew Brees...
  9. If there is the possibiilty of getting a no-hitter - surely one of sport's great moments: 1) Flip your cap into rally position. 2) Don't look at the pitcher. This also goes for his teammates. 3) Get up to the plate, and get out quick lest your pitcher's arm goes cold. 3) Bunt poorly if it's in the 8th. You don't want an infield bloop to allow the opposition to give up a cheap on-base, because they don't want to get stuck with a no-hit game. I witnessed this. A Pirate pitcher (Drabek) sat and sat against a game he carried into the top of the ninth against SD. Da*n Pirates batted around. A fine, gutsy gamer player named John Cangelosi dove for a funny hop infield ball, but just couldn't get it.
  10. Yep. See also CIN, and their 2008 2nd rounder Jerome Simpson (who?). A real peach... http://www.nfl.com/players/jeromesimpson/p...le?id=SIM531556 And he can't even claim injury. The press releases by the club at the time was..great leaper in a crowd...huge hands...NFL speed...great in traffic... Since then, they paid for same-year 3rd rounder Andre Caldwell, spent $ on Coles, bought UDFA Quan Cosby, acquired Antoiio Bryant and the curious Matt Jones, and spent a 3rd this year for TX player Jordan Shipley and a 6th on KS wr Dezmon Bryant. Sometimes, perceived "bargains" don't work out so well.
  11. I've read here - since I asked about it - that Byrd hasn't been "all that" re run stops. He seems a good opportunist to get an interception - but in an open field, so to speak. Wilson - no idea. If I face a 3-4, one of my goals is sending safeties into the cheap seats if they decide to cheat up. I want to beat the 4 LBs to an area - and in a 3-4, usually one of them takes on some degree of edge run responsibility. I can run wide and keep them guessing. As well as hanging onto the clock with off-tackle play, an inside quick sweep and an unbalanced OL. IMO, an unbalanced line is rough on a 3-4. And a question I still have, is how the current cb corps will perform when they face more of the inevitable deep routes. Lotsa changes all at once for the Bills' D...
  12. With the evident switch from a Tampa 2-type backfield scheme, it will be interesting to see how the Bills' cb squad will do playing more of the deeper routes, and the safties playing in a more traditional positioning. Another variable to add to the switch to a 3-4.
  13. Yep - it was published in this morning's Cincinnati Enquirer with jw's byline.
  14. They relied on a computer spellchucker?
  15. Beats me...I guess the thought is McGahee and his contract. But he crossed the goal line 14 time last season.
  16. Yep - they would have to. You get 16 bites at the apple, in trying to get a few more in the post-season. I wonder if McGee still has his return zip. I don't want to dub him expendable, but his CB career clock is ticking. I still remain astounded that they didn't use him in the return game for the first couple of years...he was rated as one of the best collegiate returners when he was drafted.
