I'll bet George Halas knew that... Awaiting your chronic straw man posts during the regular season... -

Paranoia strikes deep, In to our souls it will creep... Like I said, he dumped numerous players. Some were recruits that looked OK at first blush, but proved to be persona non grata before season's start. Granted, I don't follow college BB much, but I do read the local paper here every day. One player canning is memorable. The Cincy cops have a mounted patrol downtown. One of the Huggie players once hauled off an punched a cop's steed in the head. Who knows why? Lucky for him that the horse didn't send that kid to meet his Maker... -
WGR's self-promotion and "number one ranking"

Perhaps it's like the lump-in-the-groin claims about weather reporting. The local affiliates here in the Cincy crow continually, but dunno, maybe 3 or 4 years ago the local n'paper published a story that said that there is a company out there that - for a fee - "certifies" a station as best in accuracy. So the bragging toned down, but in the past couple of weeks since the heat that pointed out their phoniness disappeared, one of the affiliates is again stroking themselves. I'd like to know who decided that a tv station needed a glib, "official meteorologist" to yak about the weather... Show biz... -

All this buzz about Turner. If I'm SD, I know I have a loaded team, a stellar starting RB in Tomlison, a heck of a back-up in Turner. So he leaves in '08. So what? I'm a legit SB candidate in '07. Shame on me if the seldom-injured LT does get nicked and I've dealt away Turner. If I'm SD, I'm not giving away a player - an RFA not costing me a bundle - that can help my SB chances this coming season unless some dope wants to pay an outrageous price... -

Old Adage: Sports builds character. New Adage: Sports builds characters. I'm not a follower of NCAA BB...I pay attention to the tournament and not much more. I'll defend Huggins on one point...in his time at UC, he ruled his players with iron hand, and if they committed a civil or criminal offense, they were gone - swiftly. -
I'm sure they will give him a fair shot in training camp. Disappointment he may be to date, he was the 2nd of their six players picked in '05. And Bflo. wasn't the only team who had him on their list that year. Roscoe Parrish, Duke Preston are still here from that draft class. Eric King, Justin Geisinger (not sure), Lionel Gates - having been shown the door.

I'd still be surprised if they gave up on Frye. CLE made a bunch of FA acquisitions this year; perhaps someday they will escape their injury curse. -
Clothspinning their little mouths shut

When I was a lad in the Bflo. public grade school, our elderly Principal, Mrs. Garber, would spank miscreants in the hall. And it was a very rare occurance...the fear of such public mortification was more than sufficient to make us mind our manners. -
Beats ritalin! Teacher accused of using clothespins to quiet students suspended From NBC4/Columbus 04/06/07 AMANDA, Ohio -- A Central Ohio substitute teacher is accused of taking extreme measures to quiet kindergarten students last week. The Amanda-Clearcreek Primary School principal sent a letter home to parents about a kindergarten class after a substitute teacher clipped some students' mouths shut with clothespins, NBC 4's Tacoma Newsome reported. Principal Mike Johnsen explained that the substitute teacher used spring-type clothespins on the lips of four boys as a consequence for excessive talking and not listening to her repeated requests to stop talking. Johnsen said he spoke with the substitute teacher by phone and she confirmed the report. According to the letter, "this is not a practice for discipline that we use at Amanda-Clearcreek Primary." In total, the district said four children were disciplined by the substitute teacher on March 26. Johnsen said he has made the superintendent aware of the situation and he supports his request to deny the substitute any further work at the school. On Wednesday, school officials announced the teacher would be suspended from working in the Amanda-Clearcreek district. One student's mother said if her son was being disruptive, he should have been sent to the office for discipline. "If he was talking uncontrollably, he should have been sent to the principal," said Danielle Lind. NBC 4 spoke with the teacher in question and she denied the allegations, Newsome reported.". http://www.mansfieldnewsjournal.com/apps/p...032/1002/NEWS01

That also happens with non-business general aviation. A fellow I worked with years ago had a "time-share", so to speak, of a ubiquitous Cessna 152 with a number of other folks. -
These guys pick well. I picked Leon Hall at #18 for CIN in the 3-round mock this Monday...and they did the same on Wednesday. They traded the Jets #25 pick for some reason...the guy I picked for them, Anthony Spencer, was picked at #27 on their mock..
-
It is. There were 3 of the so-called "tweeners" picked. I tossed them in with the DE count. The three were: Anthony Spencer, in the 1st and LaMarr Woodley and Quentin Moses in the 3rd.

I was in a bar quite some time ago, and a couple of barflies were trading unrecognizable insults. I searched for them, and found that database.
