Don't worry - they will be silenced in due time. There is no place in the future for any alternative views. Look at the line-up we already have - NBC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, most all major newspapers.

List of whipping boys we should have kept

Adams...his last season was with a podunk B'gals club. After he "rounded" into shape (something like 5 games into the season - ) he was still classic Sam - always double teamed, cat-quick off the snap. I always like to relate what a poster said about him years ago: "A pass-rushing LB who just happens to be built like a rhino." IIRC, he dabbled in the arena football market or some such after he left CIN - not sure. He was well-liked and was a perfect gentleman in his short stint here. -
As I wrote to our poster BlueFire a couple of weeks ago... ..."Benson had a heck of a season last year. He's signed up for '10, but I doubt they would offer him another contract. Since CIN resurrected him, has often chirped about not being appreciated, and it seems he's one of those who is into the Caddy Escalade and dangerous dog mindset - he has 3 rottweilers patrolling his yard, that he brags about, with but 6 foot fencing. Shades of Jerry Porter... I'd be terrified to have such a threat in my neighborhood. If the stars align properly, he will make a wrong move some evening and they will chew him to death."... http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Find...38-1f347f32d207

That 98 yard catch and run in the loss against JAX sure helped the average.

Repent! Solar storm predicted for 2013

Rapture. -
'Sun Awakens': Scientists warn of solar storms to come MAE HEUSSNER, ABC News 06/28/2010 "The sun is getting ready to ramp up its activity, and when it does we could be in for some real trouble, scientists say. The sun's activity, which follows 11-year cycles, will experience its next peak in 2013. A solar storm of the strongest variety could cause 20 times more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina , said a 2008 National Academy of Sciences report on space weather. Though the odds of a such a storm are relatively small, such an occurrence could create severe weather in the sun's outer atmosphere, knocking out much of the country's power grid, incapacitating navigational systems and jeopardizing spacecraft, scientists say. More than a million people could go without power, the distribution of drinkable water could be disrupted and transportation, communication and banking systems could be upset, the report said."... http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/science_tech/...-storms-to-come Poor Fezmid - his life will cease...

Most important game of the 2010 season......
stuckincincy replied to BillsFanInLV's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, if they have a win or two before. And as you note, the BAL road game is off of the bye. -
Stick with your current tv. You will have other, more important expenses to consider with that new house.

wr Chris Henry - evidence of prior brain damage

Common sense - hit something repeatedly hard, and it gets damaged. It can be your body or you car or your house, whatever. -
wr Chris Henry - evidence of prior brain damage
stuckincincy replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps not clinically (if that's the correct word), but common sense says hit anything hard enough, long enough, and damage will ensue. I'm always very skeptical when I read the term "he was just about to turn his life around." In most all cases, it's uttered by a family member or friend when a person with 40 priors gets shot to death. Henry seemed to have done it in the year or so before his demise. Perhaps he would still be alive had he not broken his arm and stayed on the CIN roster last season. We'll never know... -

Oh boy...a fellow who dropped like a rock in the draft, served up by the team that drafted him (yes - I know they matched the Bills' offer), his last national press being reports of boozing it up in Fla. Hope he can be the one - not much, so far. I guess there is no straw too small to grasp. It's our curse.

Today's offerings don't. Either lay-back, heavy, non-maneuverable jobs, or break-your-back short bar crotch rockets...

New Iphone can do everything but make phone calls
stuckincincy replied to Fingon's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You got that right. No doubt, the modern way, the technology is a big leap from times past. I know that when you get into the manufacturing, ramp up the volume, all kinds of problems can surface. But I can't believe that their designing, engineering folks failed to detect the problem. My guess is that they spoke up, and got shot down. That Apple let out a device that in any, any way had the slightest sniff of a problem with the product's core function - placing and receiving a call, is astounding. If I owned them, I'd be swinging the axe - first cuts at my marketing crew, and the last one at my own stupid neck. Hubris. Greed. -

Heh. Reminds of my days in automotive. Style over function. I wouldn't begin to recount the battles with auto stylists (arty people, often the worthless son or the oh-so-cute daughter of this or that big swinging d*ck who was a well-connected glad-handed, toothy, highly overpaid company lifer). -
Very good. I keep a daily spreadsheet - don't want to, but have to. Ohio is a huge corn state but the crop isn't in, so the early stuff here is coming from Georgia (I think). It's good - bought ears 2 weeks ago, 5 for 2 bucks. When our crops hit the stores, it's 5 or 10 cents. I think we are in for in for a nice round of pole beans, too. IIRC, they get planted in the cornfield time to time as a rotation practice. Not sure about that... Our strawberry crop was not so good this year. If you like onions, the vidalias are coming in season. Kohlrabi, and okra, too. I'd wait a month for cucumbers...at least US farm cuke output - S. America provides a lot of off-season produce.

How are you having to add seven more years of payments, and paying points with a re-fi to a lower interest rate? I understand being cash-strapped, but don't dig a hole that has to be paid off dearly in the future. Find some competent independent advice, even if you have to peel off a cash money c-note or two for it. A note: If you are planning to prepay principle from time to time, make sure that that pr-payment gets credited as a principle reduction when they cash the check, and get it in writing (be sure that they don't hang on to them - that's a favorite trick of doctors, so they can juggle reportable income each quarter). *Some* lenders cash the check, but won't credit the pre-payments until the end of the year. Read your statements like a hawk, re-read them, and compare to previous to be sure that the principle owed has in fact been reduced. Read what you sign.

Addendum: I replaced a bath vanity in my old (1954) house, and the wall drain pipe and the trap didn't line up. Measurement error on my part. They make flexible rubber traps secured by hose clamps.
