  3. Does that denial by you reduce some of the iPhone's touted functionality? Are you one of the few who deny it? http://www.tipb.com/2010/02/05/apple-locat...oversy-de-jour/

  5. iPhone makes great snitch for savvy cops By Amber Hunt, Detroit Free Press staff writer, 7/7/10 "Got an iPhone in your pocket? Then you might be storing even more personal information than you realize. And some of it could be used against you if you're ever charged with a crime. There's a burgeoning field of forensic study that deals with iPhones specifically because of their popularity, the demographics of those who own them and what the phone's technology records during its use. Law-enforcement experts said iPhone technology records a wealth of information that can be tapped more easily than BlackBerry and Android devices to help police learn where you've been, what you were doing there and whether you've got something to hide."... http://www.freep.com/article/20100707/NEWS...nab-dumb-crooks
  6. I must be a fundamentalist. I sport the shorter Aldo Ray/Dobie Gillis cut, compliments of my wife and home clippers.

  8. As I thumbed the wheel of my Zippo, I looked up this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PMdNTtfZUA Nice car, too. Room to roam, room to woo.
  9. Shades of "Marty Ball." And he used just such when he took over the helm at KC. In '90, he rushed 504 times - 245 attempts by C. Okoye and 204 by B. Word. But the rules were different...today, they favor the pass game. I still have mixed feelings about the Spiller pick. He was certainly the premier college back. His highlight videos are just that - I've little feel for how he does in the traps, off-tackle plays, how he blocks, can he pick up a blitzing safety or cornerback etc. I know some say he's not going to be an every-down player, but if I were to select him at that high pick position, I'd have that very much in mind. With hope, he will be taught about such in camp. Like you say - it will take time.
  10. Nice rah-rah video. Didn't see any blocking, off-tackle, trap, plunge performance, though... He better temper the dancing lest his legs get taken out.
  11. Perhaps he needs a tutor - Brian Griese perhaps?
  12. Nice product line. I used their raceway products to provide 110v distribution to my basement that I turned into a living space, several years past.
  13. I recall some of the brand names of the codeine cough syrups...Novahistine, Robitussin AC, Cheracol D. You went to a pharmacy and signed a book, attesting that you would not buy another bottle for 24 hours. That changed in the early '70's (in NYS). A friend of mine who was a pharmacist and owned his own business ordered large quantities in anticipation of the last day. He nailed it - the lines were out the door. The parking lot was full of Cold Springs taxis - if anyone remembers that outfit. The stuff sold for about 2 bucks a bottle back then, and was re-sold for 5 IIRC. Turpin hydrate was included in the ban; it was known as "G.I. Gin" because the military used it and folks got hooked.
  14. I am reporting back on merlot. OK, but it seemed sweeter than cabernet sauvignon. My wife had a glass and I finished the bottle. It doesn't have much of a kick... I pan-fried the marinated flank steak instead of putting it under the oven broiler. Plunked it onto a hot cast-iron pan, 3 minute sear per side. Turned off the heat and let it cook for 7 minutes, and rest for 5. Sliced it 1/4 inch with an electric knife. It was good.
  15. Mass hysteria? That can happen with a sniff of a DE prospect...
  16. Fine choice. Me and wife have perhaps 1 steak per month. I buy when the markets offer the low price for what they like to call a "family" pack...generally 3 or 4. I scrape 'em off, wrap them in wax paper then aluminum foil, and into the freezer they go. Cheap good eats, dev.
  17. I appreciate patience, but the times are such that some amount of decent production from a #1 pick at DE is expected. If there is not at least a couple of memorable plays, the fans develop a sour taste for the fellow. Yes, you cannot teach speed. But he had minutes enough on the field, and his speed seemed to not matter. I saw no Bills' games this past season, but I have read reports that he got tossed aside like a rag doll from time to time. He may be dripping with potential, but his provenance is a 1 year starter with a college team that gets a goodly share of top-rated high school talent. across the roster. Put Maybin in that context - as well as the the recent Troy Smith avocatcy - OSU is loaded, year after year. I didn't see and Bills games this past season, so I have to rely on poster's reports that he was easily pushed out of the play. Which I believe, following the game threads here. He was praised for a "cat-quick" first move off the snap. That's not necessarily needed or desired in an OLB. Situational awareness, read first and react is important.
  18. A tip - take photos of your current and new place, to document condition. Drag around a daily newspaper to establish the day of shooting, too. I don't know that that's legal proof - but put it into the catagory of "it can't hurt." Just a precaution if somehow a property damage dispute surfaces.
  19. Helpless in the grip of circumstances (i.e. I know squat), I went here: http://www.junglejims.com/wine/index.asp Well - over 12,000 dizzying choices... So with my palate for wine being similar to that of a toad, I asked a clerk. I said that I have had Cabernet Sauvignon and it was OK. He suggested then, that I give a Merlot a shot. I purchased a $12.99 bottle made by some winery that operates out of Santa Rosa, California. Thanks to all that have enlightened me, and I will report back. stuck
