  1. Stopping the Bills running game will be a good test for the Pats. I'm not 100% sure the Colts/Patriots game was an indicator of how good the Pats' run D might be - with the Colts, the Patriots always, always look to take away the pass. You have to pick one thing to stop with an offense that good, and knowing that Manning probably will make a killer mistake eventually because of his inability/unwillingness to have a run-first mentality against good defenses. The Pats will see if Drew can beat them.
  2. Right, because that's always been the criteria for judging QB play.
  3. Oh, man - I remember that game. The Bills had a third down in FG range, and the Pats stopped them... but there was a holding penalty that the Pats accepted in hopes of holding them again and forcing the Bills to punt. On the next play, the Pats blitzed, Kelly got rid of the ball right as he got drilled into the middle of next week, and Billy Brooks ran a post pattern untouched into the end zone. Jim Kelly was gutsy, tough, and had the balls the size of a rhinocerous. Every opponent respected and feared him. That was the game that the Bills stopped Meggett on 4th & Goal from the Bills 2 with one second left. I don't think it was '96 - we beat you guys up there in '96 in what was supposed to be an AFC East "changing of the guard" game. I think the game you speak of was '94 or '95. Either way... **Edit: You were right - it was '96.
  4. They're not a machine on defense, my good man. The Colts moved the ball at will on us, only the ability to force turnovers (a Patriot specialty) saved us. The Cardinals are the Cardinals, and even then the Pats were extremely sloppy all the way around. It's gonna be a game.
  5. Pass the Kool-Aid, please. A division game on the road is always tough. The Pats have a chance to put their foot on the Bills neck in this game and put a severe cramp in any playoff aspirations they may have. If the Bills don't come out flying for this game, then something's really wrong.
  6. One of the funniest men ever.
  7. I'll take Paul Lynde for the block.
  8. Ahh... I think I'm witnessing the birth of the "I hate to agree with Foxboro Mike" Excuse Generator.
  9. That one goes right into my sig line.
  10. I think the best thing that could have happened to Losman (and to Mularkey) is JP's injury. Can you imagine the hue and cry to play Losman now if he was healthy? His injury gives the offense time to assimilate to the new system and gives him lots of study and film time. Bledsoe's value in this case is his strong character (which he showed with the Pats in '01), his willingness to take heat for his teammates, and his ability to absorb an obscene amount of punishment. Losman and the Bills will be better served in the long run by letting Bledsoe take his licks now, IMO, and letting JP play when things have come together a little better.
  11. If you could see the conviction in Harrison's face as says it, it's kind of inspiring. There's also a spot on the Pats SB DVD where Mushin Muhammed comes off the field after catching the bomb that put Carolina ahead in the 4th quarter of that SB. After the celebration on the Panthers sideline dies down a bit, Muhammed says to a teammate regarding Brady, "It sure enough ain't over yet, man. Not with that dude playing quarterback on the other side." When your teammates believe in you, that's good... it's when your opponents FEAR you that it's better. You guys had it when you had Kelly. In time, you'll see whether JP (Just Play!) Losman has it.
  12. Tuna would leave and go coach the Jets.
  13. I went through almost four years (end of '97 to beginning of '01) of being a pariah with fans of my own team in calling this spade a spade. It's like deja vu all over again (Thanks, Yogi!) in seeing it happen here. I'd like to think I helped open some eyes. Let me put it this way: Did you ever fear Drew when he was playing for the Patriots? (Shudders at the memory)
  14. No, it's the people like you that keep me coming back.
  15. The phenomeneon where people so passionately defend Bledsoe despite voluminious evidence to the contrary is extremely perplexing. And why do you attack his detractors so personally when we haven't done likewise to you?
  16. Ahh, the fyou smilie. The smilie that says it all when you've got nothing to say. In this case, what you mean to say is, "I give up." I was right about Drew. It's okay to say it. Doesn't mean he's not a fine, upstanding young man who parents with dignity. He's just not a good quarterback. For $8.75m this season, Bills fans have a right to demand better and not sit around and wish "Future Hall of Famer" Drew were their brother and not their team's quarterback.
  17. I agree with you wholeheartedly - but this whole "Yankee Fan Superiority" thing is just so over-the-top absurd.
  18. I work for a medium (with aspirations of becoming large) sized company called "W.B. Mason". We're an office supply company based in Massachusetts, slowly spreading through the northeast corridor. I work pretty closely with Citizens, actually. They do well by us.
  19. Sincerely, Drew's Brother Even when criticism is warranted, those who love the Sacred Cow won't hear it.
  20. Woah, woah, woah. "We always stand behind our players?" WTF is it with you Yankee fans, thinking you're better people than everyone else just because the team you root for happens to play well? You are the same fans who booed Jeter's ass IN YANKEE STADIUM this April/May when he was hitting .160. Spare me.
  21. I work in RI, my company does business with them almost exclusively, and we're very happy.
  22. I believe there'a a 12-step program for this affliction.
  23. "It's not my fault."
  24. Dodgers/Giants and Cubs/Cards are pretty good, though.
  25. Amen!!! The AL is loaded for this year's playoffs.
