Anybody catch Willie McGinest in FHM?
Foxboro Mike replied to EZC-Boston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Pats played out there this year, and I believe maybe 4/5 times during his career with the Patriots. Big Game Willie Mac. -
Well, Spikes is overrated. *ducking*
-
Thanks for everything, Pedro. Now get out.
-
In the salary cap era, you can build a contender overnight - Belichick did it in New England, Vermeil did it in St. Louis, Schottenheimer is doing it in SD. Donahoe has tried to do just that (adding Bledsoe, Spikes, Fletcher, Adams, Milloy) and whiffed. Every Bills fan had SB aspirations leading up to '03. Donahoe... amazing. Amazing.
-
Donahoe has been "amazing"?? I don't mean to piss on anyone's Corn Flakes, but are you kidding me? 8-8, 6-10, and 7-6 in the last 2.75 years? Weren't their SB aspirations around there the last 2 years? You're riding a nice streak, but start beating good teams before going overboard. This week, if the Bills get blown out, will you still feel that PrimaDonahoe has done an amazing job? There are still lots of pieces the TD is going to have to put in place: The D is aging, and probably 2 WR's are going to be needed (not to mention a QB, and a suspect O-Line.) If the Bills finish 7-9 or 8-8, and then throw a clunker on the board next year because Losman can't play, what will the masses be saying then? They'll be wanting TD's head.

[SUW] Favorite Christmas episode of a
Foxboro Mike replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not a Christmas episode, but my favorite holiday episode of any TV show is the WKRP in Cincinnati Thanksgiving episode. Comedy at its finest. "For those of you just tuning in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been bombed by live turkeys. Film at 11." -
A fair point. My thinking was that after the last few prominent college guys who went pro (Spurrier, Davis, Erickson) failing miserably, that a guy like Saban would want to get into a position where he could succeed more quickly than Miami probably offers. But then again, if Huizenga's $$ are right, it won't matter. Saban does have coordinator experience as a pro coach.
-
Saban's a Belichick guy (was his D-coordinator with the Browns). I'm not sure any coach that will have his chance at a few different jobs would want to take over the Mess In Miami.

I think that post needs to conclude, "Lord, hear our prayer."

I absolutely disagree. The Seahawks are a disgrace - they'll struggle to be over .500 for the year in the worst division in the worst conference. The Bengals are markedly better than the 'Hawks (orany team in the NFC West).
-
Nah... here's my reasoning: If I called him "The Gimp" before, I should call him "The Gimp" now when he's doing well, don't you think? I'm consistent - I was consistently wrong about McGahee. Though it's early, The Gimp has been exactly the shot in the arm the Bills needed to defeat beatable opponents. The Bills (and McGahee) take a step up in opponent this week: Not only playing a decent team, but on the road - a good test to see how far the Bills have come.
-
The Bills chances of winning in Cincinnati are dramatically increased if Kitna plays, IMO. Not that Kitna isn't a competent QB - he is - but the Cincy offense has another gear when Palmer plays. Kitna is prone to the killer turnover. If the Bills stay patient, running The Gimp 25+ times and taking the load off of Drew - and avoid a killer turnover - you'll be fine. If the Bills shorten the game, I like their chances. I don't like them as much in a shootout.
-
I said it yesterday, but Jon Kitna deserves major kudos. He handled being demoted with class (dare I say, Benched With Dignity?) and never caused a problem, even as Palmer struggled in the early season. I have lots of respect for Jon Kitna.

Go Bengals!

I don't want Barry Zito. Uh-uh, no way. He's morphing into Jim Deshaies. -

You, sir, have bingo. As a matter of fact, as good of a signing as it is for the Mets, I think it's just as good a NON-signing by the Red Sox. The increased workload and wear-and-tear in the AL wouldn't be good for Pedro (or his lifetime state, which he is understandably worried about. He's got his ring, and it's time for him to go. Good luck and thank you, Pedro! -
Hey, I can call a spade a spade: Drew's play hasn't killed his team (the MM/Wyche blueprint), and he's played pretty well since his Leaf-ian performance at Foxboro. As a matter of fact, early on in this thread, I told ICE that if he felt really strongly about the Bengals winning at Foxboro, he should have bet the spread (-11) AND the moneyline (probably +250 or so).

Three years ago? BITTER BEER FACE!!

Antowain was a huge part of two SB Champions, played his role well, and was a good teammate. Pats fans will always love the guy Rayzer, weren't you the guy who told me Dillon wouldn't rush for 1,000? He's on pace for almost 1,700! Of course, I also had WM pegged as "The Gimp", so what the hell do I know? Remains to see how durable he'll be, but he's off to a solid start.
-
It's not Willis' fault!! [/Excuse Generator]
-
I have a lot of admiration for Kitna - he didn't B word one bit about being demoted in favor of Palmer despite having a strong year last year.
-
Semantics - c'mon. Dillon's a big contributor to a very successful team.
