  1. Good news for the rest of the AFC East. The presence of another "name" QB could cause tension if Culpepper struggles.
  2. Now I'm more confused than ever. I guess something things will just have to remain a mystery.
  3. Hey, that's me in the glasses! Check out my wicked sideburns.
  4. I thought so. Shouldn't his name, then, be "ieatretattaz?" Anyway, thanks for the clarification.
  5. Is he BF, or what? I'm still not entirely clear on that.
  6. Yes. "Lockdown" Locke must enlist the help of an unlikely ally when the hatch takes on a life of its own.
  7. This is why it's so hard to keep up with slang. I didn't even know there was a new colloquialism for "anus" going around.
  8. Is the doubleheader thing for the whole season, or just for the opening weekend?
  9. My Pats board is going to be hilarious for the next week or so. I guess I'll hope that last year's down year was a sign of his slipping.
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_Comedy#Inferno "Fifth Circle. The wrathful, fighting each other in the swamp-like water of the river Styx, and the sullen, trapped beneath the water (Canto VII)." I'm not analytical enough to know what that means, but there it is.
  11. After such an interesting episode, I'm shocked that you're wasting time talking about punctuation.
  12. Feeley. Traded (midseason, if memory serves) to the Chargers for QB Cleo Lemon. Fiedler was an UFA and signed with the Jets.
  13. This figure I saw was even after the new CBA and the $102 million salary cap. That I did not hear. I guess that makes sense that they'd have gained some room from that. Exactly. Even given all that, they're spending like madmen. I guess they've done it in the past and not gotten bit too bad, though. They must have one hell of a capologist.
  14. Weren't they over the cap a few days ago? Where's all this cap room coming from?
  15. I don't have much to say about davis' WR skills, since he didn't see much time there with the Pats, but he is a ST demon. The Bills already have a great ST unit, adding Davis would only make it better.
  16. Oh my! One playoff loss after ten straight wins. Pats suck.
  17. ...given big money. Exactly. The vast majority of teams would handle the McGinest and Vinatieri situations the same way the Patriots are. McGinest is 34 and was going to count (I believe) close to $10 million against the cap with a $3.5 million roster bonus coming up. He had to be cut. Hopefully the FO can work something out to bring him back at a more appropriate price, but it's hardly the end of the world if they don't. He's a great clutch player, but an aging one on the decline. Vinatieri is desperate to test the market, and if he asks for the moon and gets it, good for him. Few FOs, especially one as smart as New England's, would break the bank for a kicker, regardless of his legacy. The Pats did as well as or better than all but 4 NFL teams last year. It isn't another Super Bowl, but it certainly isn't a harbinger of doom either.
  18. Rosey Colvin says hi. The Pats don't make a habit of dropping tons of money on UFAs, but theysigned Colvin to a pretty large deal after '02. So their reluctance to go on FA spending sprees is more related to player quality than it is to "cheapness," since they've demonstrated in the past that they'll drop $25 million on a player if they think he's worth it. But then again, you never let facts prevent a good Pats bash, do you? Still at it, Nostradamus?
  19. I thought it was going to be this.
  20. One of sports' true good guys. A shame he had to go so young.
  21. Graham has been competent in the passing game, but is most effective as a blocker. Watson has shown flashes of brilliance as a receiver, but really hasn't put it all together yet. In any case, neither are anywhere close to a Gates/Gonzalez type yet, and really haven't equalled Clark as pass-catchers either.
