  1. All highly possible, but it's all conjecture at this point. But such is the nature of a team with a tight-lipped coach - rumors just seem to fly faster. Sullivan, probably, but Jackson is actually injured. He tweaked a hammy at the recent mini-camp, and figures to be ready within a day or two (at least according to his agent).
  2. Belichick, to my knowledge, has said (and should say) nothing about who or will start the season on PUP, so keep in mind that this Alan Greenberg is more or less pulling this out of his ass.
  3. I'm reminded of this.
  4. No, I don't. I really can't see the Bills being worse than Green Bay, San Francisco, or Oakland, among a few possible others.
  5. True enough, but you know what they say about stopped clocks and blind squirrels.
  6. This veto, to my understanding, did no such thing. What it did do was eliminate federal funding for research on such stem cells, meaning that privately funded research can continue unfettered. To put it simply, if the federal government vetoes a bill that was to provide funding to you for a new plasma television, that doesn't mean you're barred from owning a plasma television. You're still free to buy one with your own money.
  7. I certainly understand (and agree with, to a certain extent) that perspective, but at the same time, I wonder if the government should be funding something that will be (if it indeed has the potential to be highly useful within the field of medicine) well funded within the private sector anyway.
  8. That's my point. The result (lowering federal spending and curbing statism, if only by a bit) is positive, even if the intentions are crap.
  9. I edited it and added a bit addressing just that. This is a good veto for anti-statists like myself, but the goodness is lost in the realization that this is Bush's first veto, and that it was done for reasons not related to curbing statism.
  10. Given that this was a bill regarding whether or not the federal government should spend money on stem cell research, and not a bill regarding the restriction of stem cell research within the private sector, I'd consider it more a spending bill and less a stem cell research bill. If one wishes that federal spending be curbed, one must support this veto. Bush, though, has shown no willingness to curb spending in other areas, so this is almost surely an example of him doing the right thing for the wrong reason.
  11. Easy, if said artist(s) doesn't air political beliefs.
  12. I take it, then, that you've never visited another NFL board (in particular, a draft board)? Wonderlics always get tons of play.
  13. I thought they looked pretty nice.
  14. From the source site: There was music?!
  15. It's too bad the Pats can't cut him with no cap hit if it he becomes too much of a problem. Oh, wait...
  16. I don't know...teaches a class on forensic pathology and uses a plastic bag as a briefcase? That's a bit too weird. Just be glad you got out of that class alive.
  17. It's a specially-bulit tie that keeps his bulbous head from falling off his disproportionately skinny neck.
  18. Sullivan is on the roster. Johnson is not. Edge Sullivan. Johnson has produced 30 catches in three years in the Patriots' system, and his YPR average last year was dismal. He was simply not a productive player in the system. Brown. Anyway, I'll take guys who may produce in the system (Jackson, Caldwell) over someone like Bethel who's proven he can't.
  19. Let me remind you of your words: Anyway, Bethel was a terrific returner in '03, but his numbers dropped precipitously thereafter (from 28 YPR in '03 all the way down to 22 YPR in '05). As for ST tackles, I don't think that's generally what you're looking for from a 2nd round WR. Bottom line, he was a bust who likely would've been cut, and the Pats got a former 1st rounder for him. If Sullivan busts, the Pats don't lose - they're simply back to even. In any event, it's moot, because Bethel DIDN'T make the roster (he was traded), while Sullivan still stands a chance to.
