  1. He better be, he's on my fantasy team.
  2. I've heard that two 1st rounders is the asking price (which indicates that this is more a negotiating tactic than anything else, since no one would offer two 1st rounders for Branch).
  3. It did? Pats' total offense in 2004 with Weis: 357.6 yards per game, 5.5 yards per play, 7th in NFL Pats' total offense in 2005 without Weis: 352 yards per game, 5.5 yards per play, 7th in NFL
  4. I hope you're right, but the cliché "any given Sunday" is no doubt a truism - remember Bills at Pats '05? Buffalo came as close as possible to pulling that one off.
  5. you're [sic] horrible grammar and frequent unnecessary hard returns make your posts virtually unreadable Fortunately the posts seem dumb anyway I'm glad that you have made them difficult to read
  6. There are two competing next generation optical disc formats: HD DVD and Blu-ray.
  7. It's "impasse," for future reference. Anyway, I think it's a shrewd tactic by the New England camp, if only because it could very well allow Branch to see that no one is going to be willing to pay him what he wants, in turn causing him to accept the Pats' offer. Alternatively, Branch could find a team that will pay him what he wants, and the Patriots might be able to work out a trade and get rid of a headache. The worst case scenario (if a team is willing to meet Branch's contract demands, but is unwilling to give new England anything of value) leaves the Pats exactly where are now - with a disgruntled holdout who they can franchise after the season. It's a no-lose decision.
  8. I don't think the Pats would give that number out to just anybody. Given the circumstances (McGinest only started wearing #55 because of Seau), I think it's okay.
  9. What's a "Bushie?" Let's try to use our big boy words in constitutional debates.
  10. Your Photoshop work makes me sad. Or is that MS Paint?
  11. Other than that it's a non-story? Not really. If Brady's taking steroids, they're not working - his lanky frame is far from ideal for an NFL QB. But as has already been reported, Brady and Anderson simply have a Bay-area connection, and the one workout they might've had together never materialized in the first place. I think that's a bit of an overstatement. Seau's had a great career, but he's hardly a significant playmaker at this point in his career.
  12. Pats have always had great depth in some areas, not so much in others. This year, the OL and RBs are tremendously deep, and the DL and secondary are fairly deep as well. The LBs and WRs are not deep with talent, but some areas in years past have been shallow as well. In short, your most recent doomsday prediction is, as usual, fairly inaccurate.
  13. I was iffy on this signing, but now I love it. Seriously though, he's decent experienced depth and a solid veteran locker room presence, but I doubt the Pats want him starting on a regular basis, given his age and fading abilities. I imagine he'll plug in for Bruschi until necessary, and then the starting LBs can go back to being Brushi/Vrabel/Colvin/Banta-Cain.
  14. Looks pretty good. Interestingly, there's another movie about old-timey magicians coming out soon as well, The Prestige. Just my opinion, but this one looks even better (and by one of my favorite directors in Christopher Nolan). I'll probably end up seeing both.
  15. I'll say! That was some play.
  16. (Mario Lopez + Stu Scott) / (Bonds on Bonds) = (Chris Berman's comb-over)^2
  17. Harrison and Koppen off PUP, will start season on 53-man roster. http://www.patriots.com/news/index.cfm?ac=...d=20353&pcid=47 Another gem from Nostradumbass!
  18. "Try?" What was I trying to do, other than state an observation? What I said was not BS. Many posters here were predicting huge stats for McGahee last year, and McGahee did average less than 4 YPC last season. Anyone willing to translate this grammatical mess?
  19. I thought he signed a 5-year rookie deal, which would mean he'll be playing for a new contract in '07. Okay, you're crazy. Call me realistic, but I think the Bills will be playing the Jets for the right to not be in the cellar. Might I suggest that you have your olfactory organs looked at? A trip to the optometrist might also be in order.
  20. Everyone's guts were predicting a big year from McGahee last year as well, and he plodded his way to a sub-4ypc season.
  21. You have the right to not enter/work in private bars or restaurants that allow smoking.
  22. Probable, actually. It was actually about 10 players or so listed as questionable each week. A lot, certainly, but not "most of the team"
