While I admire your passion and how you came to be a Yankee fan. (I became a Sox fan for precisely the same reason) I have to admit I'll be taking pleasure if that indeed comes to pass and the Sox can manage to win a few more titles in the next decade.

Short term, the deal would be GREAT for the Yankees. Possibly resulting in another championship. Long term, not so much. Vazquez still has potential to live up to what he did in Montreal and if those prospects are cant miss, you guys will need them in a few years.

I'm not a big fan of Patsfans.com. I prefer to talk with fans of other boards to get different points of view. Its no fun to chat with everyone agreeing with each other all the time. There is another board for Boston/New England fans that I frequent but thats neither here nor there. This board is fun, the people are cool for the most part and I like it here. Most embarrassing loss of the last 5 years? This year's Seattle Seahawks would like a word about that. So would last year's Minnesota Vikings. So would Week 1's Buffalo Bills. And when we suffer crushing defeats, they arent given cool trendy names like you guys. "Music City Miracle" anyone? No matter how you want to spin it, Pats fans will ALWAYS be able to hold 0-4 and Wide Right over your head until you win the big game much like Yankees fans held 1918 over Sox fans heads. Yes, it was tiresome and stale after a while but only one thing could rid us of that stupid chant and stupid sense of not being up to par. We got it. Will you?

As Foxboro Mike goes, I go. I'm officially IN on this "bet". I dont expect AKC to live up to his end when he's proven wrong however as he has no honor.

How exactly does AKC know what and what isnt archived? IS he a mod? Is he in cahoots with mods? I'd need to know a lot more facts before jumping headfirst into a bet considering that I DONT welch on bets I make unlike others.

Why accept a bet when the original bet hasnt been lived up to? There is no "double or nothing" when it comes to giving to charity.

I just hope AKC never needs the services that the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Institute provide. A truly worthwhile organization.

Its one thing if this were a straight up bet of monetary proportions between two posters. I'd keep my nose out of that but what does Foxboro Mike have to gain by bringing this up? He's not on the board of directors at the Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber. Why "make up" an elaborate ruse like this to target "one innocent poster" to give money to charity? Whats the motive? Like I said, from what I know of Foxboro Mike here and elsewhere, he's an honorable guy and a man of his word. AKC holds no such recognition with me.
