  1. Sweet, looking forward to Bosch!
  2. Also, "freeze your balls off" and "not as old as him"
  3. Cheesy, but significant. Daenerys didn't share one of her dragons with Jon, she gave Jon Snow that dragon, Rhaegal is his for life now. That's pretty big, a little better protector than a direwolf. Huge bond between dragon and rider, hence the stare...
  4. Not looking good for compensatory picks...
  5. Camp body or injury insurance, either way good depth and competition for camp...
  6. This is the XFL....
  7. Wow...they really did cut the best part out. I went to bed Sunday night thinking Alpha letting Daryl go was the last scene. Damn, that was unexpected!
  8. Not sure how big of a role he plays, as I do not watch Billions, but I just saw Dan Soder (Mafee on Billions) at Helium Comedy Club this past weekend. He was hilarious... Soder...What's with all the traffic? Uber Driver...Lacrosse game Soder...C'MON! Only in Buffalo...
  9. His business meetings really aren't high level...
  10. Replay Wednesday morning, 1:04am...
  11. Texas Tech was the better team. UB did not play well, but they were beat down by a better team. Great season, lot's of fun...

  13. Just finished season the 2nd season of Broadchurch, it's about the murder of young boy in a small town. The first season was good, the second season was very good. Watched the 1 episode of the 3rd and final season last night and I am not sure where it will go, but overall a very good show. It's British, takes place in a small town in Ireland, so you have to deal with the accents. Also, it's more real life actors. So if you're used to the sexy detective and/or suspects which is generally the case in the US, this isn't the show for you. https://www.netflix.com/title/70302484
  14. I agree, they were never in discussion for a 4. Plus 6 seeds historically have more final 4 appearances than 5's, so I am good with it. Still the highest seeding for a MAC team ever. As for the Hurley/Oats match up, there is also a possible father/son AD matchup with Duke and UCF (former UB AD). So it's laughable that the committee states they don't think about match up story lines...
  15. I thought they deserved at least a 5, but the 5th in that region ends up playing Murray State, so I'm okay with a 6...

  17. There's a picture of the locations in the album: Buffalo Syracuse Houston Detroit Minneapolis Providence
  18. Nice article in the Buffalo News on how Perkins has matured through the years and why he comes off the bench... https://buffalonews.com/2019/03/14/ub-mens-basketball-nick-perkins-mac-tournament-ncaa-sixth-man-2019/ Becoming the sixth man Perkins started 22 games in his first two seasons at UB, but Oats noticed how Perkins was eager. Sometimes, too eager. Perkins made mistakes, or committed early fouls that limited his playing time later in the game. Oats and his staff figured out how to make Perkins his most effective: turn him into the first player off the bench. The sixth man. Perkins usually watches the first few minutes of the game from the bench, and enters the game during the fourth or fifth minute. He brings an edge to the team when he steps onto the court. In an 80-57 win against Kent State on Feb. 22, Perkins boosted an offense that, at one point, moved at a snail's crawl. The Bulls had scored 10 points in the first 9:32, and were on pace to finish with around 40 points, an uncharacteristically low total for a team that leads the MAC in scoring offense (85 points per game). UB guard CJ Massinburg recalled how, a few minutes after Perkins entered the game and immediately told his teammates on the floor that "we've got to pick up the pace here." "That's not like us, because we're a team that picks up a lot of points," Massinburg said. "He let us know that we needed to do a better job of that." Then, in the final 1:15 of the first half, Perkins sparked a 10-point swing in which he scored eight of his game-high 27 points. “At the beginning of the game, everybody can be a little eager and excited, but he gets to see how the other team is playing, how we’re playing and what he has to do,” Massinburg said of Perkins. “Every time he checks in, he gives us some kind of insight from what he sees, off the bench.” Perkins’ maturation and unselfishness on the floor have stood out to Massinburg. “His first couple years, he’d shoot it, no matter what happens,” Massinburg said. “But now, one thing it does for him, it opens up the floor. If we’re hitting open threes off his passes, then the double-team can’t come anymore and now he knows he can get his shots off.” But Perkins’ fiery nature has also burned the Bulls.
  19. Sweet, thanks for the info! Even though I love a good panini, how can the Harry Buffalo not be the place to be for UB? Plus it's a snowballs throw to the Q. At any rate, I most likely will be there in my UB Blue!!!
  20. Plus Oats now has a strong emotional tie to the Buffalo community as well, shorty after Oats took the job with UB his wife, Crystal, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. She underwent a bone marrow transplant and six rounds of chemotherapy at Roswell. Here is a possibly telling answer to an interview question last year about his immediate future with UB: Did your wife’s battle with cancer affect your career and outlook on life? Crystal was diagnosed with double hit lymphoma in the fall of 2015. It changed my perspective on many things. For much of my career, I’ve spent way too much time only on basketball, sometimes to the detriment of my relationship with my wife and family. When you’re staring death in the face, you start to evaluate what is really important in your life. And then you try to make adjustments. The time I give my family is a whole lot more balanced now than it was three years ago. You can always watch another game tape, but at the end of the day, you’re going to win and lose games based on how your players play. It’s better to realize the importance of balance without a wake-up call, but sometimes you need it. Maybe coaching at a smaller school affords him more time with family? They also recently moved into a beautiful house on Grand Island. And have 3 daughters who love living on GI. "Crystal found her dream house," Oats said. "It's an unbelievable property. There's not much more that we'd want in a house than we got in this one." https://buffalonews.com/2018/08/17/ub-hoops-coach-nate-oats-buys-waterfront-dream-house/ pics: https://buffalonews.com/2018/08/17/gallery11124/ They looked in Clarence, Williamsville and Amherst, but his kids wanted to stay on Grand Island, where they go to school. And when "this house popped up on the market, Crystal said it had everything we wanted," he said. "After everything Crystal's been through these last few years, I was really happy she was able to find a dream house, and we could check just about every box we had," he said. "It's old, but we love old houses because they have character, with the original woodwork and all that. We're going to do a few things to kind of make it ours." In the end, all this might not mean much as he could get an offer he just can't refuse. But at least it's going to be a really difficult decision... GO UB!!!! Anyone thinking about going to the MAC tournament in Cleveland? I have wanted to go the best several years, but I think this may be the year I go. Horns up!
  21. Just finished YOU on Netflix and thought it was good. Not sure where to go next, but I have heard good things about HBO's "The night of"...
  22. The holding call on the Rams center was bad, negated a big play. And no one would have said a word if the defenseless receiver flag wasn't thrown on NRC, maybe the right call by the letter of the law, but in reality a good football play. Other than that, nothing worth noting...
  23. He'd quit at half time and head to the Sundowner...
