  1. I thought Hell on Wheels wrapped up nicely this past weekend, it wasn't the most exciting series finale, but it was good. Great series overall...
  2. A great long snapper, but for him to be in the league for this long in such a specialty position is the biggest magic trick of all. Good for him...
  3. Hilarious! All it needed was a Budweiser line to be perfect, but still great...
  4. Vesey said he's going to take his time, which I can't blame him for. This could be the most important decision of his career and he holds all the cards. I don't see him making a decision, or at least stating his intentions, until after August 15th. I love the trade by GMTM though, it guaranteed the Sabres a chance to pitch the city and team. If they waiting until 8/15, maybe they wouldn't have had that chance. GMTM said everyone would call him a dummy if JV didn't sign after trading a 3rd round pick, I am definitely not one of them. I think either way it was a chance worth taking. Also....found this while reading up on JV. Rick Martin trade tree, pretty interesting: Chris Ostrander (of Two in the Box fame) has produced this spectacular graphic which details the Rick Martin trade tree, and all the players that have come and gone through Buffalo since that time. "Going through the tree is like a walk down Sabres memory lane, and when you look at the number of players who can be linked back to that original trade, the ‘Butterfly Effect’ of every single move an NHL General Manager makes really comes into perspective." http://www.diebytheblade.com/2016/7/13/12178986/what-rick-martin-and-jimmy-vesey-have-in-common-buffalo-sabres-trade-tree
  5. I would guess around 90% of students had "illegal drinking issues" in college...
  6. Complete Hockey News ‏@CompleteHkyNews 15m15 minutes ago The Buffalo Sabres have signed defenceman Justin Falk to a one-year, two-way contract worth $650,000 at the NHL... Big guy, but just a Rochester emergency call up roster spot... 6'5 - 215 - 27 years old...never played a full season in the NHL...
  7. I think the market is there, he's a very good player with off ice issues, that's not going to scare away too many GM's. The problem is that every team hears the rumors that the Sabres are looking to deal him because of this off ice issue, which makes a fair or close to even trade all but impossible. But don't be fooled thinking many teams wouldn't want him on their team, off ice issues and all...
  8. That's a huge hole to replace if traded and there is no way they get anywhere close to his value in a trade. But these are all rumors, every team knows about Kane's struggles off the ice and will fleece the Sabres in a trade. I think if they really want him gone, they try at the trade deadline or expose him to the expansion draft. He would probably love to play for Vegas...
  9. The Sabres were much better this past season and the Jets were much worse. I don't know how much it had to do with this trade, but you make trades to get better. Kane (Lots of talent on the ice, idiot off the ice...) Zach Bogosian (good solid D) Jason Kasdorf (throw in, nothing special) Tyler Myers (could be really good, still a question mark, would rather have Bogosian at this point) Drew Stafford (meh with the Sabres, needed a change of scenery and did have a good year with the Jets) Brendan Lemieux (didn't want to play for Buffalo) Joel Armia (ok, nothing special) first round pick (that sucks) If they buy out Kane, the key is Myers...If Myers becomes the player most think he can be, the trade will haunt GMTM forever. if Myers continues to be average with a flash of greatness here or there, it's still a bad trade, but not that bad...
  10. no, but it was off the ice issues. he was playing really well towards the end of last season. he did have questions about his character, but i wouldn't have predicted it be this bad. it will be a bad trade ultimately if he is released, but it should have a big asterisk next to it...
  11. That is pretty cool...thought this was good as well:
  12. I am pretty sure the black are just for 1 game a year, the "black out" game. so it's not really a big deal...
  13. That's also the reason Buffalo couldn't make a deal with Edmonton, they just don't have the depth on D...
  14. it didn't deter me from going to any games, that's a bit ridiculous, but I didn't like the "New York" being prominent either. There was just no need to do that. It's back to UB with Buffalo on the uni's, and IMO, that's the way it should be. I do like the new look. Looking forward to UB football and basketball...
  15. JUST IN: As per @TSNBobMcKenzie, @RealStamkos91 staying with the @TBLightning #TSNHockey Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 7m7 minutes ago Cancel the Stamkos Sweepstakes, he has decided to return to the Tampa Bay Lightning. #TSN http://www.tsn.ca/stamkos-to-stay-in-tampa-bay-re-sign-with-lightning-1.517913
  16. He hasn't been charged with anything and I don't believe they'll pursue misdemeanor charges for this allegation. That being said, it's not a good look by any stretch of the imagination. He really needs to stay away from these situations and grow up, there's still 3 months before the hockey season begins, (other than no charges being filed) I hope I don't hear his name until then...
  17. Absolutely not, but it is time he stop hanging out in bars late into the night. Nikita Zadorov claims Sabres don’t want too many Russians http://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/nikita_zadorov_claims_the_sabres_dont_want_too_many_russians_on_their_team/s1_10240_21197536
  18. Lady Olenna Tyrell putting the girls from Dorne in their place was great!
  19. We now have a GM willing to make deals and all his deals will not always be perfect, but at least he's willing to take a chance. I can't even begin to understand the 1-3-1 in trades with it being less than 2 years since they were made, but every trade to this point was made to address a specific need at the time, that's how you begin to build a team. If they are not a playoff team in the next 2 years, the love fest will certainly be over. Until then, the off season should continue to be must watch entertainment for Sabre fans!
  20. Nail Yakupov’s trade value is at bargain basement levels https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/nail-yakupov-s-trade-value-is-at-bargain-basement-levels-164338367.html
  21. absolutely, he'll only be 23 at the start of the season. I think he can be a consistent 20 goal scorer, that's a good second round pick...
