  1. Lot's of "could have's" in this situation, but the best possible outcome...
  2. Lehner has kept the Sabres in many games after a poor 1st period as well. The Sabres D is just bad. Thin on the Blue line and the forwards are lazy at times, the Hartman goal was terrible D....The only team that can give up a last minute tying goal and be considered fortunate to get a point....
  3. I actually think the opposite, I believe the reason Whaley played the dumb card is because he was ecstatic the Rex was fired. Whaley makes a highly controversial move to trade up for Sammy Watkins and then wants a "ground and pound" coach shortly after? I don't think he wanted Rex for a second, but didn't have much say in the matter, which is why he's making it known it's his coaching search and decision this time around.
  4. Nilsson has been great in relief, but he's not a #1. Some guys just can't handle the every day grind of being a #1. Johnson and Nilsson are great backups, they can step in every 5, 6, or 7 games and play very well. Lehner may be in the same boat, but time will tell. That being said, if a legitimate #1 somehow becomes available, you go for it. The Blue line is a weakness for sure. Also, need a couple scoring forwards. Foligno should be a 4th liner, where I think he would excel, not on the top 2 lines. So there is work to do...
  5. he was stopped and reversed a bit and then hit the guy and immediately stopped. It wasn't going to kill him. But yes, it would have been assault with a deadly weapon if he were not a cop...
  6. The look he gave when the women continued to chat away was priceless...
  7. Of course, i was going to write he would be better with more talent surrounding him, but thought it was obvious. But it takes time for most coming into the league, plus the players around him have to learn his tendencies. My point is that holding the puck isn't a bad thing as other have stated in this thread.
  8. I think it was an outstanding move by the officer. If the dude with the knife came at an officer, he would be dead. This guy should be commended for his quick thinking, non-lethal method of taking down a suspect with a knife.
  9. I was thinking Cutler as well. Not sure if he's as bad as Manziel off the field, he's set the bar pretty high for off field stupidity, but it is a concern.
  10. Holding the puck "too long" isn't necessarily a bad thing. Watch Patrick Kane, he does it like no one else. When you have a player with great vision and passing and/or shooting skills, all it takes is for one defenseman or the goalie to make a bad move and he'll pay for it.
  11. I think Whaley does as well. I never got the impression Rex was high on Whaley's board during the interviews a couple years ago, that decision came from Russ and the Pegula's. Whaley seemed to hint at that during some of his recent interviews.
  12. I think the American Ninja host, Matt Iseman, is pretty sharp as well...
  13. http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/03/bailey-flooded-memories-scoring-first-nhl-goal-sabres/ The Sabres really need someone, whom they weren't expecting big contributions from, to step up, hopefully Baily can be that player. Much better passing and puck management this game, although again they tried to get a little to perfect on the power plays and make one too many passes at times. But when it works, Sam to Jack, it's a thing of beauty...
  14. He didn't defend him in any way, he stated he hopes he makes the most of his second chance. https://twitter.com/YahooDrSaturday/status/816140616908341248/video/1
  15. Finished The Crown last week, pretty good show. I thought John Lithgow was fantastic as Winston Churchill. Started season 4 of Ray Donovan...
  16. Good one....Who will go down as the better NFL player, Deacon Jones or Bishop Sankey? But seriously... Looking at Tebow's stats, the thing that is really frustrating is Denver won the division in 2011 with an 8-8 record. As have many teams with that record, or less, in other divisions throughout the last 20 years. I really believe the Bills would have snuck in a division title at 8-8 or 9-7 at some point in the last 17 years had the *Patsie's not been the **Patsie's. I know it's a lame excuse, but having NE in the division just crushes ones soul. I see a few more years left and things should get back to normal, you know BB's gone when Brady leaves. That should amount to an open division and a heck of a lot less **Patsie fans. Should be soon (fingers crossed)...
  17. Tebow's playoff stats ( 2games): Comp % - 19-47 40% Yards - 452 TD - 2 Int - 0 Fumbles - 1 QBR - 86.3 Everyone will remember the 1 pass for 80 yards in OT... In the regular season, completion percentage - 46%, 12 TD, 6 int, 7 Fumbles, rushing TD's 6....... Denver made the playoffs with an 8-8 record. they did lose 40-14 against the Bills that season as well...
  18. Imagine that...they're practicing between the blue lines! should be another end to end thriller...
  19. 7 out of 12 since taking over someone else's offensive design as OC is pretty good.
  20. Great story and a great tradition! And I am the OP, but I wasn't the one who questioned the K&M ceremony, I would never do that...I think it's great...
  21. ummm, yeah...think i might rather watch them in a shootout... http://buffalonews.com/2016/12/21/video-sabres-players-fun-careys-christmas-classic/
  22. I was referring more to shootout scoring, but I do agree, they try and make that extra pass all too often. Shoot it and crash the net...
  23. Buffalo Bills tailgaters to appear on Viceland's popular TV show 'Dead Set on Life' http://buffalonews.com/2016/12/20/buffalo-bills-tailgaters-appear-vices-popular-tv-show-dead-set-life/
