  1. I wouldn't go as far as saying the Bills were a 13-3 team this year, but I do believe they had enough talent to make the playoffs. I wouldn't expect a big run, most likely one and out, but definitely could have made the tournament.
  2. This is the second full season of a complete rebuild. They have a lot of work to do yet, this is far from complete. They need a number 1 goalie, another scoring forward, and maybe as many as 3 defenseman, before even being considered playoff caliber. The trade deadline will be key, hopefully they can unload a Franson and/or Gorges, maybe even Kulikov. Larsson and Girginsons should be on the table as well. Buy out Moulson this off season and then comes the expansion draft. As for Toronto being ahead in the rebuild process, yes they seem to be. They have had a hot streak the last 10, before that the Sabres were even with them. But I don't think they dismantled the team as much as Buffalo and they had some pretty good trade value in the guys they traded, so that helped. Plus Toronto won the lottery and got a superstar, that will jump start the rebuild. The Sabres lost the lottery, they still got a great player, but not a generational talent. I am also not sold on Bylsma. They should be playing a looser, more up tempo style. Instead of a patient, wait and attack when the time is right philosophy. Especially with the amount of young players and speed on this team. At this point, they are a little behind where I thought they would be in the rebuild. But if they started the season healthy, I can see maybe 4 or 5 more points, which would have put them exactly where I expected. I couldn't realistically expect too much more in the second full season of a complete rebuild. It would have been a nice surprise and it does suck and "it may require some suffering", but they have some really good pieces to build around...
  3. First goal was lazy D and a stupid deflection. Second goal was terrible, really misplayed by Lehner. Third goal was Mathews alone in front, sniper shot. Lehner pulled as a wake up call to the team, not for Lehner's play (at least tonight). A big issue with the Sabres is they have 2 backup goaltenders. More than 2 games in a row, and they're average at best. Still in it though, need a big goal from Jack or Sam....

  5. Winner goes to the SB! You don't need bulletin board material to motivate anyone. He shouldn't have recorded it, but it has no effect in preparation or motivation for either team.
  6. Oh yeah....the semi-annual Buffalo Bills new coach introduction...Can't miss TV!!!!
  7. Early last season the talk on TBD revolved around how we could keep Roman as our OC. The belief was he was destined for a head coaching position somewhere else due to his offensive prowess. my how things have changed....
  8. Had some chances, but couldn't put the puck in the net enough last night. Nilsson gave up some juicy rebounds as well. Wonder if they'll play him again tonight. Bad late call on Kane as well, that was just cheap, especially at that point in the game. The add on penalty must have been due to his comment after. I am no lip reader, but it sure looked like he called the ref a stupid puck.
  9. La Canfora just tweeted McDermott could be fired by the end of next season...
  10. I think everyone but Ottawa would agree with this. And I do think we will see more of a split at Goalie this season.
  11. ok, read too fast...what he said! I seriously did, my bad.
  12. Pegula's get a bad wrap in the press, but they definitely do not scare away anyone like the media may makes it out to be. They are good people that are still learning the NFL, so glad to have them in Buffalo.
  13. You would be okay with this? Sammy goes down and Hunter is our #1? I don't see it. They need to bring in a FA and draft a WR as well, way too thin there.
  14. He didn't mess up, he made a move that hasn't been great to this point. He has made several moves that were good, including Nilsson. We finally have a GM that is willing to take chances, they are not all going to work. But Lehner is a good goaltender. I hope Nilsson continues to play well, I have my doubts that he's an everyday starter. But if he can be, Lehner is a great backup to him.
  15. Does this game determine how fast you can close the Peter Pan dude link? if so, I am 18 for sure...
  16. Going to give SIX a try, it starts on the 18th. http://www.history.com/shows/six
  17. He's been disappointing to say the least. He showed signs of being a really good physical player his first 20 or so games, but has regressed, and of course all the injuries. I call him Bogoodwian. I don't know if this guy is a #6 or 7 and they're using him as a #2 or 3, but it's not like they have a lot of options...
