  1. Colorado is first in the league in face off wins, goes to show you how much that matters...face offs in crunch time are all that really matter.
  2. Very slim chance, especially since they can't string any wins together. They have virtually no games in hand at the moment, due to a very busy month. They have 3 games coming up and then have their bye week, so maybe they'll have a game or 2 in hand, but they may also be farther behind, so we can pretty much throw that out. Basically they have to win about 5 or 6 straight to be in serious consideration. Then after that, no back to back losses with some win streaks mixed in. It's a tall order at this point, it's possible, but I don't see it with this team.
  3. Just watched the trailer, looks very good. Might have to check that one out, thanks! https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-Season-1/dp/B00I3MQNWG
  4. I was looking for Gord Downie/Tragically Hip updates today and found this story. I had heard about it, but never dug into it. I am sorry I didn't do so until now, it's very interesting and very sad. A brief overview of the story, taken from Gord's comments: "Chanie, misnamed Charlie by his teachers, was a young boy who died on October 22, 1966, walking the railroad tracks, trying to escape from the Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School to walk home. Chanie’s home was 400 miles away. He didn’t know that. He didn’t know where it was, nor how to find it, but, like so many kids – more than anyone will be able to imagine – he tried. 5. Just finished the 4th season of Masters of Sex. Very good, I thought it was the best season to date. Time to start the this season's Homeland...
  6. The Rangers D played fantastic last night, it was a clinic, makes the goaltenders job so much easier.
  7. I forget how it works, but I don't think they can call up Baily (unless it's and injury replacement) due to salary cap restraints from all the injury call ups this season. Here's an article from November when the Sabres were juggling the cap: http://buffalonews.com/2016/11/18/inside-sabres-injuries-murray-thinking-cap/
  8. There's a very cool show called "Strip the City" that goes into great detail regarding infrastructure of cities: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dykmHEhnBI San Fran - Toronto (the sinking city) was a good one as well - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgu4vBanc3k
  9. He'll hit the road telling Payton Manning jokes: FYI....nsfw unless using headphones or you're the boss....
  10. More credible source with a better explaination: http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2017/01/31/vegas-golden-knights-might-be-able-to-wheel-and-deal-at-trade-deadline/
  11. That's the thing, it can be expansion draft related. there are deals that can be made where they agree not to take a certain player off an expansion list. Which sounds ridiculous, but that's how it reads. So the way I understand it, you can trade them a draft pick in exchange for them not touching a certain unprotected player. You might see quite a bit of these type of deals.
  12. Las Vegas will be involved at the trade deadline. Might be interesting... http://sports.yahoo.com/news/vegas-golden-knights-can-start-acquiring-players-around-march-1-151751070.html
  13. Ouch...been a mild winter so far in the Buffalo area, no power outages at all...
  14. It would be great if his first words were..."Is this thing on?"
  15. I'm right there with you! Plus the fact that there are essentially two different sets of "rules" the officials use. One for regular season and one for the playoffs. I remember the year that the Sabres FO were in front of the move by the league to enforce interference, they built a fast team to adapt to the rule change (actually just enforcement, they had to tell the refs to call a penalty in the rule book). It was a great move, they won the presidents cup that year. But playoffs start, and guess what, new set of rules, playoff rules! The interference that was called all season was no longer called and the Sabres faster, but smaller team, got beat up. That was frustrating....
  16. Most arrogant officials in all of sports, where else do you see these types of things from officials: http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/2017/1/26/14408318/nhl-referee-hot-mic-f-bombs-predators-blue-jackets
  17. And in the third, the Stars couldn't keep up with the Sabres. Buffalo out shot them something like 16-2, but they were severely outplayed the first 2 periods. there were a lot of cheap calls though, they were on the PK for 8 minutes in the first period alone. Not to mention the terrible Bogo call at the end of the game. All that and they still should have had a point, those were goals! Bottom line is there is hope to finish the season strong, they do have a pretty tough schedule when play resumes, so we'll know relatively soon which direction they will go.... Busy February to start: @Montreal Tue, Jan 31 Rangers Thu, Feb 2 Senators Sat, Feb 4 Devils Mon, Feb 6 Sharks Tue, Feb 7 Ducks Thu, Feb 9 Leafs Sat, Feb 11 Canucks Sun, Feb 12 Senators Tue, Feb 14 Avalanche Thu, Feb 16 Blues Sat, Feb 18 Blackhawks Sun, Feb 19
  18. Since you're new, just an FYI....Use spoiler tags when stating details regarding previous episodes, such as important things like someone dying! Others may have not watched that particular episode, so that's not cool .
  19. UB's 1958 football team turning down the bowl invitation, the Willie Evans story...Actually a similar story with the Bills when the 1964 team wouldn't play in all star game if blacks weren't allowed to play. Rich Stadium and the cemetery it was built around. In the early 1970s, the Buffalo Braves played sixteen home games at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens.....it wasn't just the Bills...
  20. I read this a few days ago and I think if you asked BB today, he still would say the same thing. BB values draft picks and Atlanta gave up a lot for Jones. But if they win a SB with him, it should justify the trade.
  21. But at least we're seeing the type of team we thought they had this year. They're finally healthy for the most part (i know....no excuses), and the last few games they look like a team that can compete for the 8th seed. 1 game left before the all star game mini break, hopefully they can pick up another 2...
  22. No Jack...not 1 on 3...woohooooo..do watcha gotta do kid. Wow, what a move and shot!
