Ask me in February... And I hope the answer is yes then... -
Bills linebacker Angelo Crowell is out for Sunday's game after deciding to have his knee scoped for a persistent knee problem. According to head coach Dick Jauron the decision "came out of the blue" as Crowell will have the surgery in the coming days. "He's out for the game and that's a surprise," said Jauron. It's not a major reconstructive surgery as the routine scope usually requires a 2-3 week rehab before returning to action. Jauron said Keith Ellison will step into the starting lineup to fill the void.

This is most likely a Favre "retirement", he'll be back once there's a team the needs a QB mid-season. Remember when Culpepper first was signed by Miami? They instantly became the team to beat and legitimate contender for the SB. I know he was coming of a serious injury and there were questions about his health, but it kind of reminds me of Favre signing with the Jets.

Don't agree with everything he says, but decent read

Well, let's see...Yes, we should know pretty quick this season, probably around 6 or 7 games, if he will be a good fit in Turk's offense. I didn't say to give up on him if he struggles! But if he's going to be a good QB in this league, he will show signs early on. That all went along with my rookie comment about the original article. But of course you omitted that part to better fit your argument. I can see why so many people bash you on this board, very confrontational and pretty much come across as an a$$. Sorry man...I am rooting for Trent and hope he proves to be a good QB for a very long time, but I am done with JP...GO BILLS!!! -
Well geez, I didn't know that. Now I really hope the Bills win...

How will that prove if she's my designated driver?

What are the best sports bars in Buffalo?
ricojes replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Wild Wings on Elmwood usually has a good crowd and Bada Bing's has a lot of TV's and I heard good wings but have never had them myself. Right near the Buffalo Brew Pub, not a bad place. Brennan's is right there as well... -
Thanks (like I wasn't expecting this reply), she's both, hence the caps. edit: I better spell it out for some here, designated driver and DD cup...

Need the DD, or I might...

OT: Is Buffalo the Food Festival capital of the US?
ricojes replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, it was much less to try different foods this year, every booth had a one ticket ($1) sample plate. It was the first year they did that and was a very good idea. Who wants to spend $5 for something that might taste like a$$... -
Wake up with a headache from drinking the night before. Take a cold shower to wake up. Throw on Bills gear. Fill the cooler with beer and ice. Get the food together. Yell and my wife to hurry the !@#$ up, it's not a fashion show!!! Drive to OP in silence because my wife is pissed for yelling at her. Open the first beer about 9am. Grill around 11. Act like an idiot between 1-4. Drink more beer and cook until traffic lightens up. Wife gets mad again because I am in no condition to drive. Get home, throw everything in a pile and wait until Monday to sort it out. Open up another beer and watch football the rest of the night. Pass out. Repeat steps 1 & 2 and go to work.... GO BILLS!!!

I don't think you can dismiss the fact that he was a rookie that easily. Very rarely does a rookie QB, even a first round pick, come into the league and post great numbers. I don't know if TE will ever be a star in this league, but I do know that Fairchild babied him so much last year, that putting up big numbers was almost impossible. With a less predictable and conservative offense, we should be able to see if he's going to make it in this league pretty quick. -
Scout.com says Peters may be back monday
ricojes replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, I made that same point a while back to someone who was lobbying for a performance based system. There are many who are overpaid and many that are underpaid (relatively speaking) and a few right on the nuts, it's the same thing every year. You'll never have a perfect system, perish the thought... -
Still too damn cold....[/sarcasm]

Great game and a lot of fun! The non-UB student crowd needs to pick it up a notch. I think that will come with winning though. This is one of the most amazing things I have ever read about UB football: Has Gill turned this program around or what....GO BULLS!!! Buff News article

Scout.com says Peters may be back monday

I'd like the see the Wonderlic scores for the people who voted yes, talk about single digits. They are letting their personal feelings get in the way of thinking logically. Does Peters look bad for holding out? Yes. Would he be fired in the real world? Yes. Is professional sports, from an athlete's perspective, the real world? Hell no! We need to keep our emotions at bay on this one and think about this differently. If JP was hurt the first day of training camp and didn't return to practice until a week before the season opener, would Bills fans want to get him in the lineup? Of course!! The bottom line is, the Bills are a better team with JP at LT. So when he reports to the Bills, they need to get him into game shape quickly and get him in the lineup as soon as they can. GO BILLS!!!! -

agreed... Well, it kind of sounded that way. Unless he means not allowing him to return to the team, which they can't do. The players union would have a field day with that one, they baby the players so freakin much. I know JP will not be in playing shape when he reports. That's why I said they need to do everything possible to get him ready. He doesn't need to be 100% to be better than Walker at LT. Walker has filled in admirably, but is better at RT. Hopefully Dockery faxed him the new play book!! -
I believe I made the right choice to sell my tickets for the Bills practice squad game. The UB game was entertaining and a great night weather wise. I think UB got a little cocky when up 14-0, but that might teach them a good lesson down the road. I thought the play calling was great, the run set up the long pass plays all night long. Starks ran hard and was very good, but he needs to hang onto the ball! I'll give Gill credit for benching him the entire next drive after his first fumble. Next week is Pitt in Pittsburgh. GO BULLS!!!

That'll teach him! When he returns to the Bills, do not play your best left tackle, who will be making almost $200,000 per game, for the first 4 games. I really think that will send the right message.... Sorry for the sarcasm, but when Peters returns (and I do mean when, not if), they do everything they can to get him in the line up as soon as possible! -
Would Wild Card and First-Round Playoff Loss Be Acceptable?
ricojes replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losing is never acceptable. Would it be encouraging? Yes. I think the experience would definitely help them the following year. Would I be happy they made the playoffs? Hell yes! Would I be pissed if they lost a playoff game? !@#$ yeah!!! I am pissed just thinking about it, freakin refs probably screwed up again.... -
Yet, the Bills blow them out at a nuetral site.... Originally, I stopped reading after this gem: L @ Jacksonville Jaguars JAX is too physical. garrard is special. close game. trent might get injured.

From the Buffalo News today: “It’s more of a protective limp, I guess,” Edwards said. “It’s knowing my boundaries. There are certain things that cause more problems than others. It’s going good. There hasn’t been a setback so far, and that’s what I’ve been encouraged about.” Sounds like he is limping to help heal the wound, rather than limping because of pain. At least that's the way I read it. He'll be fine for the opener, GO BILLS...
