  1. I wouldn't call it easy, but there are some very winnable games on it. With 2 playoffs teams from last year already out of the way, and only 2 more remaining (3 total game), it is favorable. I don't think you're giving Cleveland enough credit, they are off to a slow start, but they are a very good team. A split with the Jets is reasonable. With Brady out, a split with the Patsie's is reasonable as well. While Miami isn't a very good team, it's still a division rivalry. Plus the Bills play them there and pretty much at a neutral site. The Bills are the better team, but I don't think both games are easy wins. The Bills never play well at KC, good team or not, that will be a good test. And the Raiders will be tough game. Take the points, this one will be close. While I do not agree that it will be easy, I don't think a 10-6 record is out of the question, but lets worry about this week first...
  2. I don't buy it, but If you watched the game, the announcers eluded to that numerous time after the decision was made. But I believe he didn't want the game to come down to a coin toss. The way both teams were cruising up and down the field, whoever got the ball to start overtime was most likely going to score. So why take a chance on a coin flip, when you have the opportunity to win the game. Don't know if I agree with this philosophy, but that's what I believe the decision came down to...
  3. Nice bar, very good burgers. Haven't been there in a long time though. I actually proposed to my wife in front of the place, stupid strong microbrews!!!
  4. Everything is just down the street in Dunkirk. 2 minute drive from the Clarion (and that's if you hit a red light...).
  5. Could be Boothie's, but it's now known a the Big Dipper. That's been in Dunkirk for years. Aldrich Dairy was in Fredonia, famous for their April Fools Day ice cream...
  6. I thought FJ missed a huge hole in that game as well, instead he bounced it outside for little or no gain. But, let's not forget that's the first game with that line since last season. It's going to take JP some time to get back into pro bowl form and it's going to take the RB's and offense some time to get used to him being back as well. Hopefully, with a game under their belt and another full week of practice, it will show this week.
  7. Did anyone else say "that's something that would happen to the Bills", when watching the Denver/SD game? Sad, but so true....
  8. If they frequent this board, this shouldn't be an issue at all. They will find out they beat 2 injured and bad teams, can't tackle, give up too many rushing yards, are too conservative on offense, and have a terrible head coach. But seriously, I don't think you can get too cocky after 2 games. The veteran players that have been with Buffalo a few years know the losing feeling all too well. I do believe that the Raiders will give the Bills a game, I don't think they are as horrible as some people believe. The Bills should win, but they are not a great team that will roll opponents on a weekly basis yet. The Bills aren't good enough yet for this game to be called a "trap" game, which so many here are calling it. I am predicting a Bills win, but I would take the Raiders with the points....GO BILLS!!!!
  9. Same owner as Walley Willie's, the owner is pretty much a grade A ass though. Not that it matters, at least his bars and food are good...
  10. I was thinking the same thing, because I though we were going to get screwed. If MJD had not fumbled the clock surely would have expired. Since they reviewed the fumble to clock stopped with 3 seconds remaining. If the call would have went the Jags way, they would not have re-started the clock until the ball was spotted, meaning the Jags would have had one more play. Speaking of clock management, here's a curious observation I made during the Jests/patsie game. With the time well under a minute and NE with the ball and the lead, NE had a false start penalty. The ref enforced the penalty and ran an additional 10 seconds off the clock because of the penalty under 2 minutes. Now this didn't matter, because the game was out of reach, but wouldn't it benefit an offense with the ball and the lead to take a penalty and have an additional 10 seconds run off the clock? I guess the D could refuse the penalty. I just found it odd and I don't think it was the way this rule was intended.... Wouldn't they already be lined up waiting for the ref to spot the ball?
  11. Edit...I accidentally deleted the beginning somehow... I am assuming you are staying at the Clarion on the lake, there are 3 bars that have bands in the summer, but in the fall and winter, it's pretty much a ghost town at night. Except for Walleye Willie's across the street from the Clarion, they have bands every weekend. I heard they have decent wings, but haven't tried them. Also for night life, go to Rookie's on Central Avenue. It's a really nice sports bar, let the owner Rob C. know you're in for the game, he has season tickets as well. For a very good meal in Dunkirk, I would go to the Fireside (tell the owner Pat W., that Big Ricky sent you). It's on route 5 heading towards Erie, Pa left hand side a little past Shorewood Country Club, about a 10 minute drive from the hotel. Other than that, there are no really nice places to eat in Dunkirk. As far as Fredonia goes, Rooney's was mentioned earlier and is now called 41 West, it's a nice bar with ok food. As many have said Wing City on route 60 is a pretty good wing place. The White Inn on Main Street, and Rocco's on Orchard St are very good as well. If you don't mind a little drive to Silver Creek (about 15 minutes from the Clarion), there is a place called the Coloney that is very good. They have huge roast beef sandwiches that are out of this world. I grew up in Dunkirk and my parents and sister still live there, so if you have any questions let me know...
  12. That's basically what it comes down to, if it's a clean hit. But the fact that it was helmet to helmet, makes it a penalty. I have no problem with contact, but I thought the league was supposed to be tough on helmet to helmet hits. Although there was a no call in TB, did anyone see Matt Ryan get lit up? Helmet to helmet and no penalty as well...
  13. yeah, I don't know how the rule is worded either. But I don't think there is anyway they give the ball back to Buffalo on that play. He fumbled first, then got hit. There must be a difference in the rule between a fumble and interception. I don't know, but a helmet to helmet hit is a penalty no matter what the position.
  14. I actually questioned that as well. I thought it should have been Jax ball still, but tack on a 15 yard helmet to helmet personal foul. But as soon as the ball was loose, the refs probably shifted their focus to the ball.
  15. You play to win, you can't play scared. have faith in your kicker and make your opponents score a TD with little time on the clock. Look what the Bills did against Washington last year with little time on the clock. One long pass is all it takes to get into FG range. It was coaching 101, play to win...
  16. And a home game. The playoff formula is win your home games and split on the road, we must protect our house!!! 12th man baby!!! GO BILLS!!!!! FYI...Fargas out, and McFadden has a turf toe injury (although I do not believe it's serious). Force the Raiders into passing situations and bring the noise!!!!
  17. So that's what that whole lucky baby commercial is about....lucky baby, lucky baby!!
  18. Apparently so, wow that's brutal. A win is a win, this team isn't good enough yet, or at least hasn't proven it yet, to not be happy with just winning. Also, how are missed tackles and "conservative play calling" (I do not agree with that part), DJ's fault?
  19. Could you imagine how bad this board would have ridiculed him to no end if he had wore a glove in the rain as Roethlisberger did last night?
  20. What a difference a few weeks make! I remember before week 1 a lot of folks here thought the Bills had a good chance of going 0-2 against those "softies"....GO BILLS!!!!
  21. Yes, cause no one here has mentioned that yet....
  22. You have to know VABills to appreciate some of the responses, he is for the most part, a miserable human being. It's hard to say whether he does it on purpose (which he probably does) or is serious with his posts. Had it been someone else, the sarcasm wouldn't be as thick. I do agree with your post, but you're fairly new and will get used to some of the regulars real quick...GO BILLS!!!
