  1. Good point. And I think he will help Hardy, Johnson, and Edwards...maybe/hopefully. Actually, I hope Hardy trains with TO and develops a body like TO as well. His work ethic is second to none as well... One more quick point, what do the Bills have to lose?
  2. 1. No they don't. Look around the stadium and you'll see jerseys of all varieties. Bills merchandise sales are not lagging. 2. Not true. Who said there was a huge decline in ticket sales? Because a couple fair weather fans post that they aren't renewing their tickets, that's the HUGE decline? 3. There are a few, but not many exciting players on the roster. TO jumps into the top 5. 4. definitely not a desperation move. A Toomer or J Galloway would have been a desperation move. All in all, this is another typical miserable post on this board. Buffalo fans used to be tough and thick skinned. If a fan of another team trolled this board today, they'd think we are a bunch of whiny B word's. And unfortunately, I'd have to agree.
  3. That can't be true, all the "experts" on this board couldn't be wrong.....
  4. I had to chime in on the signing, but definitely was not looking forward to reading today's posts as I know most would be a bit on the ridiculous side. I started to read some such as "it's a R Brandon move", "it's a pr move", "why bring a cancer in", "this is just to boost season ticket sales", and several other idiotic posts. So, I am going to post and run, I just can't handle this board sometimes. I'll start by saying, I was blown away when I heard the news. I was surprised earlier in the week when the Bills were not on the list of teams that had no interest in TO, but signing him was just crazy news. And I really really like the move. The Bills have been looking for solid number two receiver for many years now. And this signing improves the offense by miles. Opposing teams can no longer afford to double Lee consistently, they can no longer blitz at will, or put 8 in the box and focus on stopping the run. They have to now respect the Bills passing game. Plus, I feel that TO can bring a wealth on experience to this team. Who better to give advice on lessons learned to M Lynch than TO? I really feel he can fit in better in a smaller market, where he will not be hounded relentlessly by the media. I have never been a TO fan, but the Bills really needed a legitimate #2. This guy, even at 35, can still play and is in incredible shape. Crabtree, as some people posted, most likely won't be there at 11 and the Bills need an impact player this year. Crabtree, as with most rookie WR's, would not provide an immediate impact. Now the Bills can focus on the O of D line, or even a TE, with the first round pick. This signing helps the Bills become legitimate contenders. They still have some more work to do in free agency and the draft to complete this team, but they are a much better team today with TO.
  5. Tell me about it! Quaker Steak & Lube, what's up with that?
  6. I got the same email, feels good not having the old winter jacket lately! Definitely getting the golf itch, but probably will be a bit before i get out!!
  7. But here I go. Kind of like saying no offense but, [insert offensive statement here]... Seriously though, I would assume the first step is to ask the agent if his represented player would be interested in playing in Buffalo. If yes, pursue. If no, go elsewhere. I am not saying this is what happened, but it's one of many possibilities and we will truly never know what goes on behind closed doors. It's all speculation, we don't know what, if anything, deterred the Bills from Birk.
  8. And you wouldn't understand unless you had season tickets and lived close to the stadium. For me it's about the whole day. My parents have had season tickets since 1980 and this will be me and my sister's 16th year, so for me personally, it's a family outing of sorts as well. But I also have a lot of people I know or have made friends with in the lot while tailgating and I never had any doubts of renewing. Of course it's a lot more fun when the Bills win, but the whole day is still fun regardless of the outcome. I am pissed after a loss, but win or lose, I still have to work the next day. So I have to put things in perspective and can't let it get me too down. It's just a different atmosphere pre & post game than any other sporting event. I just can't imagine not being a part it, it's just too much fun. And one of these years we will make the playoffs again and it will make it all the more special. Of course if you are one of the miserable SOB's on this board and have something to complain about even when the Bills win, you probably wouldn't have fun and it's not for you. It's not for everyone, but I will be there loud and proud for as long as I can.....GO BILLS!!!!!
  9. Interesting that the Bills haven't stated that they are not interested in the head case yet...
  10. Looks like we got our new backup to our backup thats starting because our starter is out and our other backup was a starter for a minor league team that is so injured they currently don't have a backup for the backup that was starting because their starter got called up......
  11. Both have been disappointments this year. Maybe Cole can re-gain that edge he had with Carolina again, but he's been a bust for the most part this season with Edmonton, 27 points and a -3. Guerin is making 4M and is -15. A few years ago, I would have a wanted him, but he's not an impact player. They got a pretty good rent a player center in Moore, Vanek is back on the ice, and if Max can continue to play like he did last night, I think they make the playoffs. Everyone wants something for nothing, Buffalo didn't have a lot to offer in exchange for an elite player.
  12. "UAW contracts will be ripped up" Huge reason for the filing...
  13. Anyone else hear Dueling Banjos in the background when reading Cotton's posts?
  14. According to the original post, he's not looking for 8M, he's looking to be the highest paid in the AFC, which would be around 11 or 12M. Yes his holdout is understandable, and I would think 8M is fair and he deserves it IMO. I know why he's holding out. If you read the original post, then read my post, you might understand my point.
  15. So the Bills "re-sign" Peters to a 4 or 5 year contract and he is the highest paid LT in the league. The following year some other teams sign LT's to huge contracts and now Peters is 3rd or 4th on the list. Will he still be happy? Will Peters hold out for more money again? I guess it comes down to, do the Bills feel the Peters will be a distraction for the rest of his career? If so, trade him. If not, sign him. But I really don't see the Bills shelling out 11 mil per year for him.
  16. I don't see that at all, just like all the bad guy Bill talk. But i'll always keep an open mind when it comes to this show. You know Jack has a plan, he just didn't open the vault and give up the president because she said so. I have a feeling he rigged and explosion of some sort in the vault, but the president has to get Juma in the there somehow. All in all it was a really good episode and a very entertaining season to this point.
  17. From Wiki-- Despite suffering a serious knee injury in his senior year at Alabama, Namath was drafted by both the National Football League and the upstart American Football League. The two competing leagues held their respective drafts on the same day -- November 28, 1964. The NFL's St. Louis Cardinals selected Namath 12th overall in their draft, while the Jets selected him with the AFL's first overall pick. He elected to sign with the Jets, who were under the direction of Hall of Fame owner Sonny Werblin, for a salary of more than $400,000 (a pro football record at the time) and never put on a Cardinals uniform.
  18. New England's Pro Bowl linebacker Mike Vrabel is in Kansas City undergoing a physical so that he can then be traded to the Chiefs. General Manager Scott Pioli is reaching out to bring in a player familiar with his system, and New England is a willing trade partner. Per Adam Schefter blog.
  19. Ravens continue to lose players, DE Marques Douglas is cut. Doesn't look like anything special though... Edit: maybe clearing cap room for their latest signing, cornerback Domonique Foxworth. A four-year, $28 million deal that includes $16.5 million guaranteed.
  20. Creative accounting, they've been doing it for years with no results...
