Snowing as usual here in Buffalo....
-
Good point. You definitely could hit Coles, cause the kids will be sound asleep after those tours!
-
Miss Buffalo has a booze cruise as well as several other themed excursions. They also use to have the Moondance, which is a catamaran, that's a fun time as well. But not sure if that still exists?

I'll usually split a burger and order of wings when I go to Grover's, it's a nice little 1-2 punch. Good stuff! And surprising enough, Rock Bottom (across the street from Grover's) was voted best burger in this years "best of" edition of the Buffalo Spree. I'll have to try that sometime this summer, they have a nice patio...

I mentioned Elmo's earlier, they do have good wings. Grover's is a little known good wing spot as well. Yes, I am from Buffalo. I usually get the medium hot from Duff's, I am not a fan of picking the wings out of sauce. But it seems to just be the hot and extra hot...

IIRC, that happened about 10 years ago. It was SB week, I want to say in Atlanta, but too long ago to remember... Actually now I remember the question, it was the old RJ v Flutie debate. The year of the Miracle forward pass. It was Atlanta, right after the Tennessee v J'ville afc champ game.

Personally, I have only been to the Amherst location and have never been disappointed. They are definitely not dry there, if anything they are too saucy. An order of hot wings are literally swimming in sauce and if you like really really hot, the death wings may very well be the hottest around. Are they the best wings in the Buffalo area? That's debatable. I don't consider them the best, but they are definitely in the top 5...

Hemmingway's is no more, it's now Encore or something...
-
Been closed for about 10 years, there's a bank there now. that's why they haven't been mentioned, but they did have great wings. Elmo's is still in that area and they have very good wings.

Actually some of the TV analysts were pretty high on the Bills and had them going to the playoffs after their fast start. Could you please list the analysts that are always right, so I can just listen to them and not get my hopes up. Thanks!

I have never had anything but their wings, sorry. And as stated many times in this thread, the wings are overrated...

For next year - any interest in
ricojes replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in TBD Annual Tailgate (TBDAHOT)'s Topics
I can see there are many non-golfers here, the 19th hole is the "watering hole" people!!! Anyway, I might be interested in a little tourney. Maybe a 2 man scramble format or something, depending on the number of players. If we could get enough, we could rent out a nice little hackers course for a few hours. Keep me posted! -
There's also the aero car which is pretty cool as well.

Yes, I did the ride last year. It's a real snoozer, I definitely would not recommend it for children. And as far as the jet boats, the motors on those things are monsters! They will not get stuck in the rapids. I have been on it the last couple years and it is awesome!

Dagwood's is very good, but I thought the one by Canisius closed. I am going to throw in a little Deli in Amherst that has fantastic subs. It's called Maybeck's Deli and is located on Niagara Falls Blvd across from the Target Plaza. Their subs are great and they also have homemade soups, it's a great lunch spot! For pizza, the Amherst Ale House (N French & Millersport) makes a really good pie. And they have a half price pizza and half price pitchers of beer special during Sabres games, until the Sabres win the Cup. Which should last a really really long time....

Yet another reason to move back metz... As for the Buffalo Sites, I'll add: The Naval Park is pretty cool. And it's pretty nice along the river front. There are tours of City Hall every day at noon IIRC. Lunch hour Bands at M&T plaza M-F during the summer. Farmers market on Main St every Tuesday and Thursday (right next to M&T, so you can do both) And there is always some festival happening on the weekends... Lockport Lock's and Erie Canal Cruise or Cave & Underground Boat Ride are both very cool. Of Course Niagara Falls is worth the trip, but the Canadian side is much much nicer. Niagara on the Lake- ? Very nice views, shops, and restaurants. It's a bit pricy, but a beautiful area. Erie Canal restoration site- ? Near the Naval Park, very nice restoration. You'll get to see what's left of the Aud as well.

The successor to Terrell Owens in Dallas...
ricojes replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not too surprising to me, and I think it's do to Owens. Williams see's TO working out like mad and still going strong in the NFL at 35 years old, and now he wants to work hard. Part of the reason I was excited about TO signing with the Bills is the effect he may have on James Hardy's conditioning and work ethic. I am not saying it's poor at the moment (I don't really know), but I would bet anything that it's not as rigorous as TO's offseason and season long conditioning. -
Second only to California's 34 billion projection. Patterson scares the sh-- out of me with all his tax proposals, he is one scary dude with absolutely no chance of being "re-elected". Splitting NYS into 2 states may be the best scenario IMO, but it will never happen.

Pretty boring Friday, just stopped at John's Pizza & Subs for a couple slices...

Positive Comments about Jauron
ricojes replied to RumblingsFromRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really nothing positive from the writers point of view, and other than RW and ML's endorsements really nothing pimping DJ in this article. It was a pretty neutral article IMO. He did mention the "rebuilding" as a possible excuse for DJ mediocrity, but nothing stating he likes him as a HC... -
10 year anniversary in Buffalo sports history

Buffalo News... Just about every day is an anniversary of a forgettable Buffalo Sports team mishap, oh what fond memories... -
Was that quote from DJ or San Jose Bills Fan?

Sunnys is still going strong, believe it or not. I remember seeing Jakyl there many moons ago. For those that aren't familiar Jackyl used a chainsaw as a musical instrument in some of their songs. With Sunny's being a pretty narrow bar, it was quite interesting. And who can forget quarter draft night!!!! Here's the wiki write-up on Jackyl, classic!!! The band is probably best-known for its songs "Down On Me", and "The Lumberjack," which features a chainsaw solo by lead singer Jesse James Dupree. Dupree would rev the chainsaw's engine or use the chain brake to slow the engine down to keep the beat. He would also perform this stunt live and the number would climax with Dupree slicing up a wooden stool onstage, smashing it, and throwing the sliced pieces out to the crowd. He once had been asked, "How the hell can you play a chainsaw?" to which he responded, "How the hell can you not play a chainsaw?"
