  1. Got back late last night and feeling it at work today, should have taken a couple more days off... Anyway, we hit the Town Tavern on Saturday at about 6pm and stayed all night. Great time! They played the shout song quite a bit and had the Sabres game on, which was a plus. The place went crazy when the Sabres tied it up and won it in the shoot out. Saw Chris Brown and the Bud Light dude, talked to them briefly. They have a 5 "shot" contest (they were much bigger than normal shots), where they mix up these concoctions and you have to down them within 5 minutes to get your name on the wall, of course everyone in our group had to do it! So Sunday I wake up feeling like crap and we head for downtown Charlotte around noon. We hit a place called Picasso's Sports Cafe on 3rd and Church for some lunch and pre-game festivities. Hung out there for a while and then hit a friends tailgate in one of the lots close to the stadium. Pretty good time, but just not the same atmosphere as the Ralph. Even walking to the game was really quiet, if it weren't for the Bills fans hooting and hollering on the way in, it would have been completely quiet. The stadium was pretty nice, it had a huge concourse which made it very easy to get around. We sat in the end zone and were surrounded by Bills fans. It was great to see that kind of turn out for the Bills fans. Only a couple Panther fans were causing issues, but for the most part they were really cool. the seats were pretty tight though, I am a pretty good size guy and I was snug, but my buddy who's a very big guy was another story. It was great to come out of there with the victory. I loved it at the end of the game when the Bills were going to take a knee to kill the clock, Lee Evens was raising his arms, encouraging all the Bills fans in our end zone to get up. So they definitely heard us!! After the game we hit a couple bars and ended up at the Town again. It was a very good trip, I will be there next time the Bills are in town for sure...
  2. And the rest, according to the Buffalo News: Safety Donte Whitner (ankle), safety Bryan Scott (ankle) and tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) also all are out for the game. Tight end Shawn Nelson (illness) is doubtful. Kyle Williams is questionable after participating in part of practice on Friday. Defensive end Chris Kelsay (eye) was limited and is probable. Cornerback Terrance McGee (knee) practiced fully and is probable. Receiver Terrell Owens watched practice from the side but did not participate. Regarding Owens, Jauron would say only: "Terrell was just – it was a non-injury. It was not injury related." Running back Xavier Omon, who was sick Thursday, practiced fully.
  3. Fair enough, I didn't mean to point the finger at TS alone, my only point was that AVP shouldn't be the laughing stock of the league. He was put in a very difficult position. Some here want AVP to change the offense completely and it's just not possible at this point and time. Plus he has a QB that doesn't throw the ball down the field. How can you game plan with that type of QB? Or make adjustments? Some want 2 RB's in the back field, does any NFL team do this? I know Miami does at times, but that's when they run the wild cat. There is just more to the story than a poor OC. And I actually think the offense will be a little better this week. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bills go no huddle with Fitz running the show. He has better pocket awareness, he will find a way to get the ball to our best receivers, and he will audible. Let's see what kind of game AVP calls with a QB that is willing to throw the ball down field. GO BILLS....
  4. Could be, but really all I am saying is he was put in a tough position. I don't think anyone can truly blame AVP at this point, it's not his offensive design.
  5. That's definitely and oxymoron...
  6. AVP is a laughing stock? Really? He is running someone else's offense. If this was AVP offensive scheme that he designed, then you can put the blame on AVP. But he took over after everything was in place and it was too late to change. I really don't understand your comment?
  7. First of all, welcome to the board and nice post. All those points you make about TE's are valid and point to the fact that, unfortunately, he is not a legitimate starting QB in this league. I think he could be a servicable back-up though. The Bills gave him a chance and he failed. He did show some potential, but has regressed terribly. I really can't blame the Bills for giving him a shot, but it sets the organazation back big time. Especially when you miss on back to back to back (probably missing a couple "to back's") QB's, somthing this franshise needs desperately....
  8. It really made no sense to fire TS so close to the start of the season. Because AVP is left with TS's alignments, terminology, and plays. So, AVP's hands are tied running an offense, he may not even like, but it's too late to implement anything new. It's just another in a long line of mind boggling Bills moves. You had the whole off-season to cut ties with TS, you knew what he brought to the table. So now if DJ is fired, there goes AVP. Who may be a very good OC, but we'll never know. I think I've replied to similar posts on this topic about 80 times and it's still a head scratcher....
  9. If he did it would be an economical decision, but we know the Sabres don't manage that way...
  10. Correct, found this bit on one of the Sabres sites: We asked Sabres Public Relations Director Mike Gilbert, and he offered this explanation. “The nine games simply involves year one of Myer’s contract. He signed a three year agreement with the team, and if he stays beyond the nine games, then year one goes into effect. If he gets sent down, then year one doesn’t kick in until he returns. All this means that ultimately his arbitration rights, free agency, etcetera would kick in that much quicker should the team elect to keep him,” said Gilbert. So that’s pretty much it. Translation… either the Sabres get to keep Myers at a lower price for as long as possible, or they lock him up to a long term contract at some point and pay the best case scenario of the big bucks that Myers will surely command.
  11. Um no, they do not send him back to juniors. You did hear/read somewhere that they have 9 games to make a decision, but I think the decision was made a couple games ago. This kid can compete at the NHL level and does not need another year of juniors. And Myers wasn't the only one who made costly mistakes against Atlanta...
  12. I will be there with about 7 others, we have to extra tickets to unload as well. We are debating whether to tailgate at The Township Grille for their pre-game buffet and head to the Stadium after, or hit the lots and do some real tailgating. But we will definitely check out the Town Tavern on Saturday night.
  13. I predicted 5 wins going into the season and I am usually the eternal optimist. So I can't say that it's been a disappointment, because this is kind of what I expected. Not much was done in the off-season to improve the team, so you get what we got. Or in Denny Green speak, we are who we thought we were. But I'll play along, while ST's hasn't been great, I am more disappointed in the offense. If anything, I thought the Bills would put up some points, and that just hasn't happened.....
  14. For a third rounder and a conditional pick. They were overloaded at forward and had to make a move. Wish it would have been out of the division though.
  15. I sure hope so. I would hate to have to sit through all those stupid panther sound effects for nothing. GO BILLS!!! Bills 19 Panthers 14
  16. Sweet...16 < 40, so the Bills performance was acceptable. End of debate...
  17. Actually looked like it hit his arm, but there wasn't a great camera angle shown...
  18. The price should be right...
  19. The wind was brutal, balls were floating all over the place. Tough for everyone, even tough to understand the ref giving the penalty explanations. I hope Fitz gets the start next week. I don't think he's great, but he may run this offense better than TE, I'll reserve judgement until I see him play in better weather conditions though. I thought he did pretty good in the wind yesterday.
  20. Sully can barely write a good article, they really shouldn't let him speak. The wind was brutal yesterday, you could barely make out what the ref was saying on penaltly explanations. Now 5 interceptions suck in any weather conditions, but I think Sanchez (or as Dick E says San-Chez) will be a pretty good QB. But if he is a bust, I won't shed a tear....GO BILLS!!
  21. According to the instant replay revised rule book, it was not a catch. But it was a great "catch"! Great concentration and body control. It was awesome, just too bad there was a brief bobble. I don't even want to call it a bobble, it was more just getting a better grip. But it was the right call...
  22. First thing I thought of when he was announced is inactive was a possible trade announcement later in the day. But I guess that was pretty obvious. They have until 4pm tomorrow to work out a trade...
  23. Putting things in a fantasy geek perspective. I have Evans and will start him if Fitzpatrick starts next week, if Edwards is a go then he will be on the bench. I really think the Bills will not rush Edwards back, this gives them an excuse to see if Fitz can run the offense better. Hard to judge yesterdays performance with the nasty wind, so I think/hope Fitz gets the start this week.
