  1. We've been through years where most games were blacked out and not much changed. This is a warped sense of reality that most on this board have, don't go to games and the fans will somehow have the upper hand and force Ralph to spend money. This just isn't true! I agree with mpl, going to live football games is the ultimate rush. Quit blaming us fans that go to games through thick and thin for the Bills futility...
  2. For the Bills maybe, but for the Sabres this is very uncharacteristic of them to bring in a veteran player (35 is not that old) with grit and tons of experience in big games. This is the type of deal that good teams make at the trade deadline, like acquiring a Bill Guerin or Mark Recchi type player. This definitely isn't the missing piece for the Sabres, but it's solid signing. Looks like they are at least making an effort to get a little tougher...
  3. Wow....to be continued tomorrow....59-59, just insane...
  4. Yep, shook my house in Amherst, was very strange. Thought it was a low flying helicopter or something at first. Buffalo news link...
  5. Yes...longest match ever and games in a set records are shattered..
  6. Anyone watching Mahut v Isner on ESPNU? Crazy 5th set!!!! 4 hours and 26 minutes for this set and counting. At least the whole 7+ hours weren't played in one day or these guys might not make it...
  7. Or Mary, she burned many more than her Dad, they didn't call her Bloody Mary for nothing...
  8. Did anyone watch the series finale this past Sunday? I thought it was really well done and not at all what I expected. You almost felt sorry for the old tyrant by the end. I liked the theme of Henry coming to grips with his mortality. The symbolism and visions with past wives was well done, as well as the reflections on his reign when looking at the painting. I am going to miss this series, I really enjoyed it. Hopefully the Borgias, coming to Showtime in 2011, will be good as well.
  9. Who needs a seat belt when you have those huge air bags....
  10. Yep, Thursday afternoon. I'll be there and, I agree, probably his last start in the minors...
  11. Don't know if this has been posted or not, but this aleternate ending would have answered most of the unanswered questions....
  12. I second this one. I do a lot of work with Blue Coat appliances and software and they are for the most part solid. The commercial-grade version of the software is free, so you can test it out and see if it meets your requirments. Blue Coat did a training session at my company for a week and touched on this software a bit, the statistics were pretty scary. for kids ages 15-17 who use the internet, 70% have viewed pornography online, 23% often. 1 in 5 kids age 10-17 have received a sexual solicitation over the internet and these stats were a few years back, so it's most likely higher now. I would definitely try to do anything possible to protect what your child views, that's about all you can do, the rest is up to them...
  13. I believe the enormous ramification of pulling the plug was making Flocke mortal, it was the only way to kill him.
  14. I believe that's correct. Sun got pregnant on the island, but delivered her baby off the island. Not being able to survive giving birth when conceiving on the island was the reason that Juliet was brought to the island...
  15. Well, there you have it. Lets get a petition to get "Kate" on the show!
  16. awesome stuff, thank you....
  17. 1. Boone really wasn't a huge character, so I believe the writers just left us to assume that Hurly had enlightened him at some point and time, when wasn't relevant to the story. 2. It looked like pieces of the ladder were missing to me. 3. They never showed how Jack, Sawyer, Hugo, and Kate got back to the main island, so I am assuming they used Flocke's boat.
  18. That's an excellent opinion. I was thinking that maybe he wasn't accepting the fact that he's dead yet, but I can completely see your point and it makes much more sense....
  19. I believe that scene was the most intriguing of the night. Both Jack and Flocke wanted to extinguish the light, but for completely different reasons. Flocke wanted it out so he could leave the island and Jack wanted it out so Flocke would become mortal and could be killed. The look on Flocke's face when he saw blood after being hit by Jack was priceless. Kate was outstanding in the black dress last night, but I have to give it up for Charlotte as well. She looked beautiful! It took me a little bit to appreciate the ending. I really didn't like it at first, but looking back ,it was a good way to honor the characters and story. Normally I am not for a sappy ending, which is ironic in itself that an ending in which everyone is dead is considered happy, but this somehow worked. Everyone let go...
  20. City Grill is pretty good and right near the stadium. or you can take a short walk to the Century Grill, they have a hamburger combined with a thick slice of fried bologna that is out of this world! I have heard that the deep fried bologna sandwich was awesome as well, but have never tried that one. I think it's tater tot Fiday night there as well, used to have bacon Saturday night, but they don't do that anymore....
  21. It was great when the Boston fans were chanting "New York Knicks", when LeBron was at the foul line...Classic!
