An Unlikely Future Owner Of The Bills?
ricojes replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gambling at the Ralph. At least I'd have a reason to stick around for the 4th quarter... -
I love the trade deadline, love it!!

Hockey yes! Football...not so much... -
Top Ten Reasons Why Men Prefer Guns Over Women... And here we go... #10 - You can trade an old 44 for a new 22. #9 - You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road. #8 - If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times. #7 - Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup. #6 - Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo. #5 - A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space. #4 - Guns function normally every day of the month. #3 - A gun doesn't ask, "Do these new grips make me look fat?" #2 - A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it. And the Number One reason Why Men Prefer Guns Over Women..... #1 - You can buy a silencer for a gun!

There is an ignore feature on this board, right? Because the Bills have sucked so long, it gets frustrating for everyone. Most here are younger and grew up watching the 90's SB team and expect it every year. Those of us that remember the awful product, worse than this team, put on the field in the late 70's and early 80's, might be a little more PC when it comes to voicing our opinions. When an owner comes out and says it will be 3 years before this team is relevant and it's already been 11 years since that team has made the playoffs, tempers are going to soar. But you have to factor all that in and not take it personally or simply ignore that poster...

This board is like the Bills. As much as they try to push us away, we keep coming back...

As long as Ralph is alive, the Bills will continue to be one of the most profitable teams in the league. Under new ownership, the Bills would be at bottom...

If they know for sure the NFL will still be on strike, it's a no brainer. The question becomes, can the player change their decision to declare for the draft, if the NFL is still on strike at the time of the draft? I would think there may be some kind of waiver under the circumstances, but that's just a guess...

Tallinder is a decent #5 or 6 defenseman. He was a non-factor for the past 3 or 4 years, but Myers presence lifted his game a bit last year. In his contract year no less, perfect timing for some team to overpay for him this year. He has nothing to offer on the offensive side of the rink, but he is a decent position defender. But he's not physical, even though he has some size. Tallinder seems like a good guy, good locker room guy, works hard. But he just average at best even when paired with a good defenseman...

You're exactly right, it's the beginning of a true re-building process.

I hate to ruin your draft plans
ricojes replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get this statement. The Bills do have to lose to move up in the draft, besides trading, how else can a team move up? -
At least that question was answered in the second episode, I thought it was strange at the time as well. But I am really starting to relate to the characters in this show. When the chick in captivity said "our people have been prisoners for 66 years, they are getting impatient", being a Bills fan, I totally can relate to that...

Like it or not, this whole season is the pre-season. Chan is evaluating talent to see who belongs on his team and who doesn't. This year is a wash, plain and simple. Management and the coaching staff was well aware of this during the off-season, just too many holes to plug in one year. But I do have faith that they can turn this thing around within a couple years... 1- Carrington has not even been activated? You can't keep a 3rd rd pick inactive. You just can't. Wasn't he hurt? haven't heard much about him lately though. 2- We're not going to the playoffs this year. Why are we not throwing Maybin in to the deep end and letting him sink or swim? Audition, see above. 3- Cornell Green is terrible. Someone else should be starting in his place. He's just a filler to get through the year, he'll be gone next season.

Zoinks Scoobs, Trent: Busted !

IIRC, The original TO for Buffalo was after a first down. They then went to instant replay and ruled the spot was wrong and made it 4 and 1, so the Bills were not charged with a TO. My question is, if the Bills weren't charged with a TO, why didn't they restart the clock? Then they could have ran it down to 3 seconds and kicked the FG... 1. Rule 4-5-1 item 3 states that: "a second charged timeout by either team during the same dead ball period is prohibited." Penalty - 5 yards Delay of Game 2. Rule 4-5-1, item 4 states that "An attempt to call ... a second timeout in the same dead ball period by Team B in an attempt to 'freeze' a kicker shall be considered unsportsmanlike conduct and will subject the offending team to a 15 yard penalty."

Who's saying the Bills are a good team? Has to be less than 1% of this board, if that. I don't get the point of this post...

Flozell Adams at the end of his career is going to be tough to bring to a re-building team... Dansby would be great, but again, he's going to want to go to a contender... I agree with building the O and D Line, this must be addressed next year. The Bills seriously need a LT, and maybe then move Bell to RT. They also need a legitimate pass rusher. They did try to address some of the line concerns with draft picks, but too early to tell if they will pan out. When a team has so many holes, it's very difficult to address everything in one offseason.

If you are the 1st year GM of a bad team, what do you do? Do you evaluate the talent on the team with more holes than swiss cheese and try to patch them quickly, more like Levy did as GM? Or do you build your team knowing it will take a few years to develop? Personally, in a weak QB draft year, I would take a can't miss RB with your #1 as a base to build around. It would take a few years to completely build your team, but in the long term it's the best game plan for long term success.

I agree. I said the same thing about the plane making so much noise so far away and then the plane disappears in some sort of portal and ooooh, that was the noise! I had a problem with the dude in the SUV getting on the runway of the airport so easily and I hated how the story jumped time frames so much. Just play the story from the beginning! Anyway, didn't look good in the previews. i didn't love the first episode, but i will give another couple to see how is progresses.

Can't be true, no QB can be efficient behind this crappy line. Trent would be good with a better line, (insert more Trent excuses here)...

Newer Katy Perry thread....more interesting this time......

I agree, she is hot. Seems to very down to earth, very attractive, and a smoking hot body!!! -
With all the hate being tossed around..

If anything, this game proved that the O-line is not the main problem. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a good line, we need upgrades at RT for sure and significant improvement or an upgrade at LT as well. But a competent QB can indeed play well behind this line. I was so sick of the Edwards apologists saying that no QB could do well behind this line, it's a bunch of crap. If a career backup in Fitz can play adequately, then a good QB would do very well. On the other side of the ball, the Bills are a train wreck on the line. Absolutely no pressure, this team needs D-Line and LB help big time to be considered good any time soon. And the safeties, including Byrd, were horrible. It was just a pathetic display. -
Who gets the #2 slot? Donald Driver @ Chicago Monday night Eddie Royal VS Indy Steve Smith (NYG) VS Tennessee Right now I am leaning towards Driver, but Royal has been solid since moving to the slot. Smith has been targeted plenty, but not putting up the numbers...
