  1. My prediction is that Phillip gets his own reality show. Some classic lines last night, "you can't stand the truth" and "you don't mess with the specialist, it's fruitile". He is just TV gold! I just wish Russell and Phillip would have been together, that would have been interesting. I think there's going to be a big twist next week, there's 4 people on redemption island, it's about time for a big twist...
  2. What a ride! That was fun, I thoroughly enjoyed watching those games. I went out for 6 of the 7 games and the atmosphere was just great. I am bummed a bit, but there was no way this team was going to win the cup. And to take a very good team in Philly to 7 games was impressive. They were really bad yesterday, but the Sabres lost it in game 6, they had them on the ropes and let them back in, so that's the really disappointing part. Instead a bunch of whining floppers move on. It should be a really exciting off season. They are about 6 or 7 moves from making a serious run and we have an owner willing to spend money to make it happen. I'm already looking forward to next season....
  3. It tipped off Myers stick and then hit the crossbar, if not for Myers it's a goal for sure. Myers came back pretty strong this game, definitely played with an edge last night, he was getting some shots in, love the way he wiped out Richards towards the end of the game. He was pretty bad the past couple games, but so have most of the Sabres D. The point has been a big issue for the PP, they just can't seem to get a shot through from the point. I have never seen a team completely shut down from outside shots as bad as the Sabres were last night. But winning is all that matters, it's 2-2 and a best of 3 series. The Sabres have been winning must win games for the past month, let's hope they continue Friday....GO SABRES!!!!
  4. The defense has been absolutely horrible these past 2 games. They are really struggling with the Floppers forechecking. I lost count of Myers give aways, just brutal. I think the problem is more psychological with the Defense. They are not a very physical D and the persona of the Philadelphia teams of the past still persists. Even though this is not a very physical Philly team, especially with Pronger out of the lineup. I really think Philly is baiting the Sabres into stupid penalties and getting them out of their game and then when a Philly player is barely touched, he's flopping around like a fish out of water. I have to give Philly credit, they are playing smart and drawing penalties. It's not Philly hockey and actually embarrassing by Philly standards, but it's working. The Sabres need to play their style and ease up on proving they can be physical. They need to be smarter that's it. This series is far from over and I expect a much better Defensive showing in game 4. GO SABRES!!!!
  5. November 20th is the date that i heard... Take a look at the concerts past and future at the ACC and then look up some of the performers records. Not to mention other athletes as well. Money talks...
  6. Great win to begin the post season! In a 1-0 game, especially when the officiating isn't going your way, every little play matters. The play of the game was Butler stopping the rush by knocking the puck out of mid air and leading to the Kaleta goal. A very minor play in which no one will mention, but it's the little things that get the job done. Terry Pegula has energized the Sabres and the City, there is something to it. All the haters that say and will continue to say "This is the same team before Pegula" or just biting their teeth to call Miller "Mr. Softy" can go to hell as far as I'm concered. I am so sick of these negative people. I love the NHL playoffs and I love the Sabres. Pegula taking over ownership is just the absolute best thing to ever happen to this organization. Here's to an exciting playoff run and many more to come... GO SABRES!!!
  7. Just grow a playoff beard, that's all you really need to fit in...
  8. You would fit right in at the Buffalo News. That's the kind of negative thinking that's preventing anything from happening for years. Yes, it's risky as there is a short period of really good weather in the area. That's why they need to make it more of a year round destination and not make it a summer destination only. At least there is progress, it's finally a step forward for Buffalo. There's a competition for the Buffalo area schools every year called Future Cities. They design a model of what the City might look like many years in the future, one kid had a billboard next to the highway that read, "Coming Soon, Bass Pro." I thought that was classic, sad, but classic. But as I said earlier, at least they are proceeding with the project. Plus they got Quinn out of the equation, that should help...
  9. That was suggested to the new regime and is under consideration for next season, as are many changes to the arena...Stay tuned...
  10. Sabres sell all but single seats in an hour
  11. Look out for Marlee Matlin, she is in it to win it! Has the choice on a charity edition of Apprentice to fire or not to fire someone from the men’s team and she says bring out the hatchet! Even after already losing a member of the men’s team that week. The women better see that as a sure sign that she want to win it all. Screw their charity, fire someone Mr. Trump...
  12. For the Thursday 1st round we're hosting an all you can drink draft party at Hucklebuckets in Amherst. They sponsor our softball team, so this is a little fund raising event. Should be a good time...
  13. I have to admit that I felt like flipping cars and setting fires after I wasted a couple hours watching the miserable excuse for a basketball game...
  14. Sekera made a horrible play behind the net and that goal was their undoing, which is a shame because he's been playing great. Then a lost faceoff shortly after that and it was tied. They played a really good game though. Had a couple chances to put them away, but couldn't do it. You just have to put it behind you as team and look forward to Tuesday. They blew the win on one play, but they hung on (barely) for a point. 3 points up and 10 to go. They don't get any easier, so hopefully that point doesn't come back to bite them in the end...
  15. I an not giving him credit for anything, just saying I didn't think the video was that bad... (1) no drugs in the video -- Have you seen some of the rap video's today? (2) Parking lot, not a night club-- See #1 (3) Dropping a pass -- no credit there, it was a terrible drop. If anything I hope that it keeps him level and maybe his head was beginning to get a little big, so the drop brings him back down a couple notches. Terrible drop, but in the long run, it was good for the Bills draft position overall. (4) Humililty? Probably the same answer as 3. The drop was terrible and I felt bad for him. But I think he handled it well and hope it drives him to become a better player. I think he knows he needs to improve and that drop could be the fuel to make him work harder heading into next season. Just to clarify...I am an older guy, who doesn't like rap. But as far as SJ appearing in a video that was mild by todays standards, I just don't see the harm. The drop was horrible and I never said it was a good thing for him, although it may make him work harder. It did turn out to be a good thing the the Bills draft position. So I am not praising SJ for dropping the pass, I hope he never does it again, but overall it's better he dropped it. Winning a few meaningless games at the end of the season is the same as knowing you should have beaten at least 3 playoff teams, and that's all the momentum needed to carry into next season, with the benefit of a good draft pick...
  16. Well it's my point of view, moronic or not. I was torn when he dropped it, but getting the #3 is better than having another win. I was just glad I sold my tickets for twice value for that game, had I been there, I would have been pissed. And yes the missed FG was big as well. When you start 0-8, the best you can hope for is a high draft pick, not momentum going into next season, that's moronic...
  17. Here's a quote from the Buffalo News: "Verizon pulled the plug on its plans to build a $4 billion data center in Niagara County. That's the bad news, very bad news. Western New York couldn't have done much more to make the deal happen, offering tax incentives and cheap power. But the company's claim that a little lawsuit from a neighbor was a big factor in its decision is a outrageous case of corporate evasion. Really? A multi-billion dollar corporation turns and runs from a major development plan because a neighbor files a lawsuit? If that were true, there would be no Walmart stores in this country. The building of almost every store faces court challenges. Walmart, like Verizon, has a sharp legal team for such things. Who knows why Verizon really decided to go elsewhere - the uncertain future of the neighboring coal fired power plant is a good guess - but for the company to say they are running away because of a neighbor's lawsuit? That is beyond belief. It's outrageous." I have to agree, I think the lawsuit was a perfect excuse for Verizon to back out. Maybe they got a better deal elsewhere and didn't want to look bad in the region. I definitely don't think it was because, as some say, WNY screwed it up. At any rate, I think there is a lot more to this story.
  18. According to the video, it's his cousin that's doing the rapping. So, he appears in a video with family and that makes him a gangster or something? And as far as rap video's go, that was pretty clean. No drugs or alcohol seen in the video. And they were in a parking lot or something, not in a night club or at a party. Plus SJ was only in a few shots, so probably didn't even put much time into the making of it. And as far as the drop, it was probably the best thing that could have happened to the Bills. They would have dropped several draft picks if not for the drop. Plus, maybe SJ's head was getting a little too big. A drop like that would humble anyone, so we'll see how he bounces back next season. And big big props for leading with the drop, most players would probably never want to see that again. All I am saying is, let's just give the kid the benefit of the doubt here before we make character judgements.
  19. True, maybe he'll get the key to the city... That's what she said...
  20. Maybe a slower Mike Vick is more accurate. I'm not a Newton fan, but he did run a 4.5whatever 40, that's not too bad for a QB. I am hoping the Bills go Defense with the 1st pick. But to answer the original post, if they do go CN first pick, they absolutely have to go D. Especially with the potential FA losses, there will be even more holes. Not to mention the help they need on the D line as well. This defense as it stands is not good...
  21. Can you explain this part of your post please? Why can owners charge more for the same amount of games?
  22. Yes, he's having a uni/bass pro unveiling party...
  23. I must admit the Canadian side does have the best view of the falls......But that's because you're looking at America!!!! Have to give props to Ralphy May for that one, saw his show at UB Thursday...
  24. 6'1 425, but was looking to drop 30...
  25. That's pretty much it. Lalime is nothing more than an emergency goalie, which actually he's played well in that role. He's a great locker room person and teammate, who doesn't complain about his playing time. Enroth continues to play in Portland, which is better than sitting the bench. I am not saying I agree with that, because playing Miller 31 straight games is ridiculous, but that's pretty much it. They need a backup goalie they can trust, Enroth is 23 and has been in the organization for a while now, so give him the backup and play him a dozen times a year. Maybe his trade value rises or something, I don't really understand the Sabres philosophy on this one. But my philosophies and Buffalo sports team philosophies usually differ quite a bit...
