Here's this kid: smart, poor, overweight, no athletic abillity, bad skin, father committed suicide, mother institutionalized with brain damage, a loner, a discipline problem in school, into Goth, talking to his friends about voilence, living with his Grandfather and a "companion". WTF - are they going to tell that NO ONE IN THE SCHOOL OR COMMUNITY SAW THE SIGNS BEFORE THIS KID CRACKED? Parents of teens - listen to your kids, watch your kids, talk to your kids. And yes - be very concerned when they make threats to hurt you or anyone else. They are crying for help. This just breaks my heart.

Well we'd better get someone to scrimmage against. I'm not going to fly all the way up there for training camp just to watch #27 showing off his beautiful abs.....OK maybe I will.

I've been to Beaches Sandy Bay (a Sandles resort) in Jamaica. I'd recommend Beaches Negril - it's just down the street and has a lot less kids. However, I got tired of just eating and drinking and wish we had ventured out more and explored the island.

I heard this morning that this was on a reservation and it's the poorest tribe in North America. Approximately 40% are living below the poverty level. He lived with his grandparents and his grandfather was a retired reservation policeman. I'll wager that this kid was abused and then constantly teased by his peers. Not an excuse I know. But he never learned how to cope. I'm glad (for his sake) that he took his life. He can now be at peace with himself.

I would go with the fiver-uppper because I love to do that kind of stuff. I can hang drywall, hang wallpaper, lay tile etc. And love to paint. When it comes to remodeling, I usually take the lead. BUT - if your wife doesn't know how or isn't much interested in that sort of thing - then it will all come down to you working nights and weekends and her nagging you to get it finished.

Heck - I watch Extreme Makover home edition, DHW, Boston Legal, then switch to E for about 30 minutes, then the History Channel. Hmmmm - what does that make me??
