  1. If there were no Pegula I think the Bills would be sold to the Toronto group because they would be the highest bidder by far. Luckily we will never know, but I give more credit to Terry than Ralph. Terry paid half a $billion more than the Dolphins sold for 5 years ago. If that makes Ralph a genius, I'm ok with that, but 5 years ago nobody had never heard of Pegula so he wasn't part of anybody's plan. We lucked out.
  2. i heard tasker say the noise problem only affects them on offense when they're near the endzone. i would have every player on my team do the arms down quiet and the finger to the mouth shuuuush in that situation, as soon as the huddle breaks. sideline players, cheerleaders, coaches, everyone on the field and in the stands, and obviously the jumbotron. goal line audibles are critical. gotta get the word out.
  3. marrone makes the calls on who plays where. not whaleys area of expertise leodis is the rodney dangerfield of cb's. he's a great corner. graham is the nickel guy, which means he'll get plenty of action sunday. aaron williams will be good to go too. and hopefully nigel has no rust.
  4. run at him, use TE, have the backs chip him (and then release for checkdown if he's being handled) use play action and read option to freeze him. he's tough but he's not that tough
  5. wait, belichick is a GENIUS right? so losing couldn't have been from him getting out adjusted at halftime, having his team undisciplined and making tons of penalties, alienating his stud run stopper last year and failing to give his HOF qb legit targets? its plenty warm and humid in Boston in the summer. They didn't lose because of the friggin heat. they were outcoached, outprepared and outplayed.
  6. Yeah me too. Whaley is solid, even with the Kujo whiff. 2013 draft and offseason pickups very impressive. I disagree that Whaley's job is tied to EJ's success. Nobody is right all the time, and EJ still may be enough to get us there.
  7. Lothar, posting a good one at 3:45am. this point spread should be Bills favored by 4. we swept them last year. NE hasnt had a solid defense in many many years , not surprised Moreno gashed them. not sure if I agree about Miami having weak interior D linemen, but I do know that running right at Cam Wake (and most speed rushers) can be very effective. i called the Biils winning by 3 in chicago, they'll win by 4 sunday. (Im assuming Aaron Williams is playing otherwise I would say Bills by 1). relax and enjoy the show.
  8. If they end the blackout rule then I can finally tell everyone how simple it is to get a blacked out game on directv. i've been holding out because if too many people do it then they might catch on. I get every game regardless of blackout.
  9. naming rights are cheesy for sure (Lucas Oil field is so gay), but if you're going to take taxpayer money in a time when we're cutting educational programs in this state, it's awfully vain to have your name on the outside of your stadium. i was never a huge Ralph fan, thought that naming move was self-serving and egotistical. (hey if you want to pony up money and buy your own stadium, then i totally get it, but you should only use taxpayer money if you've exhausted all the reasonable means to contribute on your end. naming rights can be worth up to $20M per year. NYS could use that money)
  10. good post. i heard levitre was hurt?
  11. man the Hughes trade for Shep was a steal, and cleveland robbed them in the Richardson trade. Not sure what the colts GM saw in Shep, or what Nix saw in him to warrant a high draft pick. LSU had a great D and it made Shep look better than he is.
  12. someone mentioned this in another thread and i completely agree: mario blasted Cutler in the side of the head on that sack and he seemed less sharp after that. i know i would be.
  13. Rewatched the game, was very impressed with how strong of a blocker Mike Williams is. If it's a run play his man is taken out every time. On Freddy's huge run, Mike somehow got himself around his man and sealed off the left side to keep the hole open that Cordy made. No way that play happens without Williams effort. I was skeptical about the pickup but I'm a believer. Woods, Williams, Watkins. Best trio we've had in a long time. They're all tough dudes.
  14. Our Oline was better yesterday than anyone expected. our qb has had a full training camp and isn't a rookie anymore. that was the difference in the game. holes for the runners and some pretty decent time for the qb to throw it. we didn't have much of that last year. very encouraging to see.
  15. The bears defense is awful. i watched the first team twice in preseason and they looked lost. penalties, blown assignments, gaps etc. Cutler only hail Mary's Jeffrey, he got his crazy numbers last year from McCown. Bennett is the guy who we need to worry about on offense with no Kiko or Nigel to run with him. This will be a low scoring game and we'll keep it close. Robey gets a pick and so does Aaron. Bills win on a long FG and disappoint all you whiners and pessimists.
  16. and weiss and crennel. all sucked without brady just like bill did.
  17. Heartfelt is one word, stone thrower.
  18. With an awful LG that isn't in the league anymore, a feature back with a high ankle sprain all year, OC with no NFL experience, and two injuries including one that kept him out of training camp for a significant amount of time. Its odd how many people have written this kid off because of a weak preseason.
  19. Sammy will be worth 3 first round picks. Cant cover that dude.
  20. actually Orton was a childhood movie star. Assistant to the Burgermeister
  21. a lot will hinge on the Oline play. the kid needs at least an average amount of time to operate the offense, and the runners need average blocking upfront otherwise it doesnt matter who is qb, we won't make the post season. consider he was a rook who got hurt twice, missed a lot of camp, had injured runners, a new OC with zero nfl experience and a turnstile LG on his blindside, i think he did pretty damn good (except that one tampa game of course).
  22. i just hope that his numbers continue trending downward, and that belichick sticks around to coach without Brady so we can see what a genius he really isnt.
  23. The guy was one of the worst qb's in the league last year. 27 picks and only 15 TD's. Has to be a record for someone to have that lopsided of a season after winning a superbowl MVP (not to mention a pair of them). I personally love that he's struggling for a lot of reasons: 1. The crap he pulled on San Diego for drafting him and his refusing to play for them. What a prima donna baby. Imagine if all the big qb's pulled that classless act every year, what a joke. 2. Giants fans were coming out of the woodwork a few years back when they were winning, and it seems like half of them have gone into hiding again which is awesome. 3. Coughlin's pissed off face makes me laugh, and he's stuck with a qb in an unbelievable slump. 4. The NY media has no patience for poor play, and they were ripping him up and down last year. He wanted NYC, well, here you go whiner boy. Say all you want about his superbowl MVP stuff, the dude is finished. He threw 15 TD's last year and his brother threw 55. HaHaHaHaHa. (of course, I hated Brandon Spikes just as badly, and now he's one of my favorite Bills, so apparently I would love Manning too if he came here too. That's frustrating)
  24. physical and toughness very solid less ball hawking than I expected better than Leodis was at this stage in the game and he turned it up nicely these past few years
  25. Brown is an inside guy. He was drafted to back up spikes, or replace him down the road if he signs elsewhere or gets hurt. We have no LB's that can cover Bennett. I think Aaron Williams is going to have to slide over every play into man coverage. Here is one scout's take: The Louisville defensive scheme has had Brown run blitz quite a bit and he is impressive when he is able to get a head of steam. Brown is able to generate momentum quickly and can be powerful in the middle of the offensive line, able to drive back linemen or put a good hit on the ball carrier. In terms of range, Brown is relatively limited. He tends to be late or out of control when he attacks wide and has too many instances where he gets caught at an awkward angle, overruns the play or is trying to catch the play from behind. Brown is at his best going basically from guard to guard, keeping his shoulders square to the line and being able to be a powerful presence in the box.
