  1. Marrone said something about this in the post game conference, referring to it as "something we need to fix" I saw it as overthinking themselves and trying to get cute. I see Hackett doing the same thing calling the offensive plays. Just when we are starting to gash them for good runs, he abandons it and calls pass plays even though our line was collapsing all over the place and Orton was getting crushed. Nothing worse than coaches outhinking themselves. It's like icing the kicker-- embarassing.
  2. Schopp said Bills might be favored by a few points. God he's such a hockey guy. Last year we went down there and gave up 330 yards passing and 2 td's to geno smith, and another 150 on the ground. Jets have tough interior guys on the DL and our Oline is weak right now. even Cordy had a rare bad game today. We are going to need a seriously good game plan to take some heat off Orton or we'll get blown out down there. Jets dbacks are weak, we can score points on them but man it's not going to be an easy win like a lot of my friends seem to think.
  3. so before you see Bryce Brown run for our team you're certain that we would have picked a better player next year in the 4th round. Because.....you know our last two 4th rounders Duke Williams and Ron Brooks have been such game changers for us. Or Ko Simpson, now THERE's someone you don't get everyday.
  4. no way. his right knee was down a full second before the ball came out and it's conclusive. we watched in on the DVR in super slow hd. seriously it wasn't even close. woods was definitely a fumble. either way i don't care we got the win and we're on to beat the jets
  5. interesting to see Matt Kahlil is a bust. 4th overall pick. Cordy went 41st overall that year, I wonder if they'd like THAT one back.......
  6. so funny i was going to type this EXACT same thing after i read the post. hopefully schwartz has learned a little from last week's nightmare.
  7. no evidence, but there a few examples of qb's floating along their first 5 years in the NFL and then getting good. Rich Gannon cones to mind. went from ho hum to superbowl champion level, chris chandler did it after tons of injuries, kurt warner got better and better. it can happen. we're seeing entire draft classes with no decent nfl qb's sometimes. maybe we should look at underperforming pro's in the wrong system. bradford has the intangibles.
  8. Wait...... are you presenting FACTS ??? I tried that for a few years here. Doesn't work. If we have the cap space I would bring the guy in for sure. Idle money is stupid when you have a multibillionaire owner and an aggressive GM. For those of you who don't like the idea of signing Bradford, let me ask you, what if we had the salary room to do it and you had the choice to either bring him in or just have the money sitting in the bank doing nothing. What is your answer then? My pet peeve is when people say someone is too expensive but they have no idea what type of creative salary structure an athlete is willing to take nor do they understand how much room we have to spend? If you don't understand those two things (i don't), how can you say no? How? There are NO playoffs for teams with mediocre qb's people. None.
  9. all i know is if we get a decent lead in the 2nd half I'd like to see some more Dixon and Bryce Brown running the ball. Get Gragg running some downfield routes, Sammy some more action. we have to develop our new talent and lord knows we arent going to blow out many teams this year.
  10. completely agree and so would anyone who watches Woods play. special teams, running routes over the middle, that chicago catch in traffic which won us the game, run blocking. sometimes i think people just post stuff like that to get replies.
  11. marrone wont call plays because he wants to keep his job next year and hackett isn't making the cut. what he SHOULD do is change a few calls like the one when we were down two possessions in the 2nd half and it was 3rd and 20 from the NE 40. Hackett calls a 7 step drop pass play, orton gets sacked and we're out of field goal range. a simple draw play to freddy would have picked up 5 or so yards at least (NE was playing pass prevent) and let our boy carpenter get us 3. my point is he doesnt have to micromanage the play calling, but certain TYPES of stupid calls based on down and distance should be managed by the HC. always.
  12. mike is our 4th wideout. tied w Hogan for that spot. he's there for depth when the injuries hit. he doesnt want out of the organization, he loves it here. any agent would do what his did if his guy gets benched. there is no story here
  13. i think pettine's D would have been better yesterday and against San Diego too. Both teams w Ninja qb's, 2nd and 3rd string runners, and will pick you apart unless you get to them. Rivers and Brady don't care about how good you are against the run. Neither will Denver when we play them. If you have Duke Williams and Searcy out there at the same time you're going to give up 30+ every game.
  14. as usual the crappy announcers didnt pick up on it. that was a huge penalty. all we heard on tv was the vague sound of a referee talking behind the endless drivel of the announcers who had no clue what was happening on the field. maybe they penalized us because we didn't have our Myra Kraft patches on properly.
  15. we scored enough points today to win a game. our defense this year has showed it can still do well despite an injured LB, a corner, and even a D lineman or two, but we need Aaron Williams out there against good passing teams. If Searcy and Duke Williams are out there together we are screwed. i don't blame the offense.
  16. very UnaBomberEsque i almost got to line 5 then realized the OP might be my high school son typing from the basement. had to check my stash to make sure he wasn't partaking.
  17. back to back wins and then the bye week. it's coming at a perfect time for us. we come back after a 2 week rest prepared for KC coming into our house for a beatdown. it will be our 3rd win in a row and put us at 6-3.
  18. here's a new point while we're talking about tight ends. lee smith is the worst TE we've ever had
  19. well he's played 6 games and his circus catch last week won us the game. we would have lost if he didn't make that catch and nobody on our team but sammy would have made it. over the middle, high and WAY behind him. unbelievable. he's on pace to win us 3 games this season on his own
  20. I love how everyone says a certain running back needs to play "in space" Everyone said that about Roscoe Parrish, and all the other hundreds of skill guys in the NFL with speed. I agree that Chan was a better offensive play caller than Hackett, (and the best game coach we've ever had in terms of handling time outs, challenges, 2 minute drills, etc), but in the NFL it's simply not possible to get people "in space" unless they create it for themselves with vision, blocking and burst. CJ has great burst, jukes without losing speed (his best attribute), but doesn't have great vision and unfortunately has sub par blocking. Frankly I'd rather see them deal CJ because he's going to go somewhere else. We wont overpay for the guy but someone will. Happened with Byrd, Levitre, Clements, Winfield, etc. Go get a damn guard or future pick
  21. he was in sombertown working out with the Burgermeister
  22. I posted this exact same thing a few days ago. Most of the replies were that there really aren't too many decent guards out there on the trading block in the NFL. I would think Whaley is working like a madman these next few weeks before the trade deadline to assess the market for CJ and available guards.
  23. I have no inside scoop on this, but a strong gut feeling (you know, like the one I had that Whaley was going to trade up for Khalil Mack) A few weeks left until the trade deadline, we are seeing a weakened Patriots club, a very strong Bills defense, a winning record through 5 games, and a serious issue at Offensive Guard. We have three good runners in Freddy CJ and Bryce Brown. I believe Whaley will make a move for the best available Guard a team is willing to trade. I also believe we could be just as good with Freddy and Bryce Brown running for us, and that CJ has a lot to offer the right team (San Diego?) Doug has shown he's not afraid to wheel and deal, and that he wants to win now. A solid OG could help us win, especially when the snow flies and the games come down to ground and pound. I think we're not going to re sign CJ anyway, and that the time is now to make a move.
  24. seattle couldnt wait to dump that chump. what an annoying teammate and player. I don't ever want to see any NFL player get hurt except JJ Watt, Suh and now tate. another Me First Guy the NFL doesn't need
  25. Woods acrobatic catch on 3rd down in chicago won the game for us. That ball was up and behind him and had a lot of zip on it and he snagged it in traffic. Strange you would think he isn't a solid NFL receiver. The dude is tough, competitive, works hard in blocking, YAC, great hands, goes over the middle, etc.
