  1. I think they'll offer him a reasonable contract but nothing more. Free agents usually find someone to pay more than what is reasonable. Like New Orleans falling for the Byrd facade. Haha suckas. I think Hughes will go and we'll play Jarius Wynn and Lawson in his place, draft a pass rusher and not miss the guy at all. Maybe a little drop off but not enough to affect wins and losses. We need to spend our money on Olinemen. If we're going to overpay anyone it needs to be the big nasties like Dareus, and any good free agent O line guys. You cant tie up half your team money in your front four. Bad business. We probably have the lowest paid Oline in the league right now and it shows. If we want to develop a qb lets start with giving him more than 2 seconds to throw the ball.
  2. i was staring at you all game because you're attractive sincerely super creepy Rob Lowe
  3. mario, dareus, kyle and sammy possible alternates. Lee Smith might have a shot but they dont count sucking at catching, blocking and running. They also don't count getting stupid offsides, unsportsmanlike conduct and fighting after every play.
  4. i love the idea. if anyone thinks Orton is one percent better than EJ I challenge you to prove it. our offense is a freakin joke. if jordy nelson hangs on to either one of those two TD passes that were right in his hands we lose to GB and people might be finally opening their eyes to how awful Orton is playing right now. I would start EJ in two seconds against NE because they'll be prepped for Orton. but we won't and he'll be a sitting duck again and we'll score a dozen points max. marrone wouldnt even put in EJ up 20 points in the 4th quarter until it was handoff time. coaching scared=no playoffs again
  5. last time Goody touched the ball he ran for 11 yards on an end around. Nice play. (fyi, last time Spiller touched the ball he went for 50 plus, also a nice play, except for the end) If you're going to list stats and compare skill, then list the number of targets in there or it's meaningless. Goodwin is our 5th receiver behind sammy, woods, hogan, and chandler. Our 5th receiver with our qb's and OC isn't every going to be much more than a 1-3 targets per game type of guy, especially considering our 1 and 2 WR's are studs that get open almost every play. He's not a salary cap killer, and he plays hard. Much more talent than Graham. Durability is always an issue with little guys, but Goodwin is ready to have a healthy season next year. He'll win the WR4 spot in camp again and I'm glad for it.
  6. whatever it was, it needs to be addressed. cleat change, more practicing on the stadium turf instead of the fieldhouse, whatever. sammy is our best offensive weapon, he cant be falling like that.
  7. i loved the hit. still amazed at how pro athletes like matthews get so stupid after an INT or broken play and seem to forget they're live targets out there. the crackback block is a part of the game, and frankly its not that hard to avoid with basic on field awareness. either the play is live and you're running to the ball looking to avoid blockers on the way or you're dogging it. you choose.
  8. he definitely has had some nice throws, and his veteran apptoach to the game has helped guys like sammy and robert woods learn a few things EJ wasn't able to show them. i hope we get rid of him after this season though. the only way you get a ring in this league is with a top notch qb, and you don't get those by winning 6,7,8 or more games a year. you have to bottom out by trying rookies until you get a high enough pick (or be flat out lucky) until you draft one that has what it takes. orton is too good to get you bottomed out, but never will get you to the bowl either. sick of treading water with these medicore fitz type guys.
  9. well he got hired because he's enthusiastic, can't stop now......
  10. jets defense actually played pretty well against us in the first game. it was the fact that they turned it over 7 times that killed them.
  11. pro football is the worlds greatest game its only weakness is that the QB position is so damn hard to play that literally years go by sometimes without a single elite quarterback emerging from the thousands of star athletes that play the position across the country. you have to be the worst team in the NFL on the exact year prior to the rare occurence that a guy like Luck or Manning is draft eligible. when it comes to consistent winning, everything else is meaningless unless you have the right qb.
  12. good points. also he had a GM that sweetened the pot even more this year by sliding up in the draft to take one of the most dominant college receivers in a long time. the only adversity I see is he has an OC that isn't any better than mediocre even on his best day, and in some cases looks completely over his head in the NFL.
  13. my stance was please dont pump over $100mil into a dying stadium because the dying owner refuses to negotiate a sale of the team while he's still alive. he didnt have to hand over the keys yet, but an agreement could have been reached with Pegula that would have helped the county save tens of millions. stupid money. after sunday the bills will have played 7 home games for a grand total of 21 hours stadium time in 2014. maybe two more years and then it's bulldozed. lot of school programs got cut because of that type of foolishness.
  14. "Gives up on game day passes"?! uh No. In a few years we'll know how the trade-up worked out for us, but until then I love watching the guy more than any other player we have (tied with CJ when he's hot). Next year he'll be even better. If he's not injury prone, he's a pro bowler next season. Even with a sub par qb.
  15. Impressive. Way to go Wilson's. i still think the guy could have helped us avoid dropping $120m into a stadium they're gonna bulldoze by simply selling the team to Terry a few years ago (even if just a contract that isnt executed until his death) but it looks like he's more than making up for that waste of money with a monster foundation boost. Leave it to Ralph to force me to like him even after he dies. Fine I'll say it: Ralph Aint Cheap
  16. i think manny lawson and Wynn will rotate into Hughes spot next year and we wont miss a beat. let hughes go and sign the best guard on the market. Or RTackle if need be.
  17. Its guys like you that make it hard to loathe Canada for hiding behind our military. We salute you. Now start working on selling beer in convenience stores CBF, and pass a law that allows a man to drink a beer on his boat. This whole idea of selling beer in government run stores that are closed nights, weekends and holidays (precisely the time people buy the stuff) is a little silly no?
  18. Cant judge a coach or win playoff games without a solid qb that has a decent enough Oline line to keep him upright and to create some holes here and there for the runners. Until then I wouldnt fire anyone because you don't know what kind of coach he is yet.
  19. I don't think NE is even going to need that last game, but lets say they do. We aren't that difficult of a team to figure out, it's not like we have a thick playbook. Digital video has changed everything in this world. Super slow mo HD, emailing files to players that have every play their opponent has run in three years broken down by down, distance, weather, tendencies, audibles, personnel groupings and a thousand other things that used to take opponents by surprise but don't anymore because everything is on film. Mike Williams isn't going to help NE very much. They don' t really need it against Orton anyway. Now as a receiver that gets open, and has good hands, he could compete for a lot of teams in camp and win a starting WR3 job at least. Dude has 3500 yards, 28 TD's and good body/hands for the job.
  20. oops Sorry I didnt see it elsewhere. I'm wondering if maybe he thought it was 2nd down. is that possible?
  21. I am shocked this hasn't been posted yet. I lost all faith in Orton on that 3rd down when he could have done a Fitz and dove ahead to keep the drive alive. Instead he slid and chose to give the ball back to Peyton Manning. No guts. When you're on the road in a conference game as major underdogs in December with playoff hopes still alive and you happen to have an 82 career passer rating, you cant afford to play like a wimp. Jim Kelly must have cringed when he saw that play, I know I did. The next time someone tells me what a competitor Orton is I'm laughing in their face. He's cashing his $5M trying to figure out how he can skip another training camp next year and wait for his phone to ring when someone's qb goes down.
  22. agree. Hackett's best game of the year by far. Loved Marrone going for the 4th down early, he needs to keep pushing his team and showing faith in them. Coaching was not our problem today. i normally despise Hackett but he deserves credit for this one.
  23. fred has always looked slow but he's not. he's shifty and has great elusiveness for a big back. one more year for 22 because he'll train properly this offseason and show up for camp in top shape and win a roster spot like he always has.
  24. the crap Eli and his daddy pulled on draft day was ridiculous. Eli refused to play for San Diego and forced them to trade him immediately after they picked him what a spoiled brat. thank god everyone else that gets drafted sucks it up and plays for whoever picks them instead of being a whiny little punk like Eli. im glad he sucks now. NY is a perfect place for him to rot.
