Levitre About To Lose His Starting Spot?
Webster Guy replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On top of that it was the blindside protection of our rookie qb trying to learn the ropes. Poor EJ had about 1.9 seconds per dropback before they were breathing down his neck. Not a good thing to do to your 1st round qb who needs confidence and time to execute plays. -
New NFL qb's need a few things to have success in the pro's: A decent O line Reliable receivers that get open Solid coordinators/coaches Two years in the same system with at least a few of the same receivers both years. Tyrod and EJ are both in the same boat, they both need lots of real game reps. This is probably the best offense to learn how to be an nfl qb because its not as demanding as some of the other fast paced passing systems. Both guys still are learning. TT will get the nod over EJ because he's tougher to plan against for a defense. When he starts against Indy and we beat them in the opener its gonna be a huge boost for his confidence.

Because his coaches at cuse have proven themselves to be incompetant but he did well in spite of them

Dungy adjusted to Patriots bugging lockerroom
Webster Guy replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly. we need to punish these punks on the field. they oughta just change their uniforms to all black and embrace the low-life villain image they've built for themselves. they're everyone's most hated team now. -
Little dudes are almost always hurt in the NFL. This is why Goodwin will stay on. Between the two of them they make one normal player, which ensures we will have one burner always ready to go each week.

It's all part of Rex's plan...
Webster Guy replied to gobills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex drives all 3 qb's to city hall and has them all change their names to George, at which point he proclaims George will be starting every game all year. -
Mike Iupati sent to get tests done on knee
Webster Guy replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Roman didnt want him for whatever reason and he knew the guy as good as anybody. -
He was a difference maker for this team last year. No question. Some huge catches in traffic to keep games alive. Big target, great hands, fearless. Our best receiver in some games. Def not a Roman TE though. Too bad he had to go to the Patsies because now I loathe him.

Rex Ryan says they will probably keep 3 QBs on the roster
Webster Guy replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly. Listen to the Flipster. -
I know right. as if directv is really giving away anything. even with the nfl ticket for free its still a huge ripoff. it's good to know there are still lambs out there for the big companies to slaughter though.....

I think TT would be great to bring in on special packages in our first game against Indy, which I think Cassel will start. He is the exact opposite of Cassel, and there would be basically zero film of him running Romans offense. If you are prepared for a dink and dunk pocket passer and then Tyrod comes in this could be a nightmare for Indy's defense. His best asset seems to be mobility without the INT numbers that most running qb's like vick and Kap put up.

Not sure about nfl, but i wish all college teams had players names on the back. Ive heard some college teams dont do it because supposedly it sends a message that you're somehow more of a team player if you dont have your name on your jersey. Load of crap. I like to learn the names of the players on the field. Much tougher to do without the letters.

Rules that need changing
Webster Guy replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Number 2 i strongly agree with. there have been some ridiculous calls that are technically correct calls but the wr's crouching then getting hit is something the defender cannot do anything about. and i agree with the OP about these stupid motion and pre snap formation calls. meaningless crap. change it. also, i don't know why the offensive line can't move as much as the defensive line before the snap. the less penalties called in a game, the better -
Its gonna be a busy year for all of our d backs. They will get burned but will become better at single coverage knowing in a lot of cases they have no safety help in Rexs defense. Gilmore and Darby did fine. Benjamin is a huge gifted wr, what did you expect from a rookie?

NFL should change the two feet in bounds rule to one.
Webster Guy replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So we should move the goal posts back into the endzone, allowing spearing on defenseless receivers, no drug testing, no 2 point conversion, no concussion protocols, and smear stickum over all the receivers again. -
Pats rolled over in the second half of the last game and played their scrubs, and Detroit kicker only had to hit one out of 5 FG and we are 7-9 last year. Marrone turned out to be a disloyal boob who couldn't even land a coordinators job when there were tons of them open this past offseason. You were right, he WAS a terrible choice.

I thought my first wife was a nice person. Thought Preston Brown was too slow to ever be an impact player Was bummed about levitre move, thought he was worth the big money. Turns out he really wasnt. Thought Marv was way overrated as a head coach, that he was mostly a cheerleader and could be outcoached by most opponents. After reading all the players accounts during his tenure, I guess the old gray mare was worthy after all.

What say ye? There's been a lot of focus on getting more scoring and offensive output in the NFL, but it seems to me one of the most simple rules to change would be the two foot in bounds rule when making a catch. Switch to the college rule of one foot in bounds being a completed pass, the receivers will post bigger numbers and there will be some amazing receptions that would otherwise be ruled incomplete. Also, my brothers and I agreed it would be cool if the NFL added the white half stripe like college football, it would make the ball easier to see. In case anyone hasn't noticed, the footballs are, uh...mud color. Everyone in the stadium is watching this little ball and it's drab brown. Makes zero sense. At least slap a little white on there, it's what everyone is used to playing their whole lives in high school and college anyway. The NFL did use the stripes back in superbowl VIII, good for them. Bring it back.

The League, Roger Goodell, and their interests
Webster Guy replied to Steve Billieve's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here, but I don't think the NFL needs promoters any more than I think Russ Brandon's so called marketing skills have sold a single ticket. Pro Football is the best, most popular sport in our country, and continues to grow. It's popular simply because it's exciting and great, not because of a commish or an ad campaign or front office executives. They may take credit for it, but the NFL needs no help to thrive any more than video games need tv ads-- they're so good by themselves they're self marketing. People are passionate about the things they love, they talk about football and show it to their kids, friends, family, co-workers, etc. We plan events around it, look forward to it and football always delivers because it's an amazing game with the worlds best athletes playing it. That's why it's so popular. In fact, the NFL has succeeded despite guys like Roger, TagliabooBoo, Jerry Jones, Snyder, cheating teams, thug players, etc. That's what burns me about Goodell making $3M a month when ticket prices are so high (that and he's the polar opposite of the typical Bills fan) As far as the discipline goes, there really is a moral obligation here to hold players accountable for their actions. You're right, it's a private business and they can act in any way they choose to within the law, but ultimately it's just good policy to set a standard for player conduct and punish those who cross the line. Except Dareus, I'm going to write Roger a strongly worded letter outlining why we REALLY need him against Indy in the opener. I might even throw in some cash to persuade him........ -
Is it time for Plan Z at QB

Common Sense Optimism Re: Cassell
Webster Guy replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hey i like the op's point here. I hope he is right. i would also add that cassel has earned a trip to the pro bowl before, and he can scramble (we know tyrod and ej can too, but cassel can move for a white boy) It sucks that we cant be one of the dozen or so teams who knows unequivocally who they're starting at qb, and are working with the same OC in an offense they've run for years. Huge advantage, and one we havent enjoyed in a long time. -
im confused, and I cant seem to find any articles on this. I have read that the recently upheld 4 game suspension is still meaningless because Brady will likely receive an injunction that allows him to play until the courts decide another appeal from Brady. are there nfl precedents for a situation like this? seems like it would make sense to defer the suspension, he might get injured and then take the suspension at that point, or he could drag it out a year and retire before he serves it, i have no clue. I really only care about week 2, and its strange not knowing whats going to happen after 6 months of this crap.

Will the Patriots beat the Bills without Brady?
Webster Guy replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
belichick has a losing career record without brady, he will be outplayed, outcoached, outhustled, and garrapolo will be a sitting duck. Early line bills 6 point faves. -
Who is your all time favorite player from another team?
Webster Guy replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Randall also holds the NFL record for the longest punt of all time. 91 yards. For a qb. yeah he didn't have any athletic ability did he......
