What an awesome home opener win against a great Colts team. We've said for the past few years if we could somehow find a good qb this team is ready to win it all and it looks like we might have one in TT. Two things that need to be fixed this week: 1. Jerry Hughes seems to be continuing his dumb and undisciplined play. Three penalties for 40 yards. Rex if you do ONE thing this week, please sit him down and explain that he isn't worth having on the field if he continues to play like this. What a freaking joke. Stop jumping offsides, stop getting 15 yard personal fouls you hack. This guy is going to cost us a game if this keeps up, and it's been a problem for a long time not just yesterday. 2. Tyrod was quick to praise his Oline, but it seemed there was a big discrepancy between the left side of the line--which played well-- and the right side, which seemed to cave in most every play. I haven't re watched the game but it seemed like Miller and Henderson weren't holding up at all, and Indy isn't known for a fearsome D line. Did anyone else get the sense that our O line is only half fixed?

Colts O line did better than expected, and Mario is a streaky player. He had an OK game out there, but Luck senses pressure so well it's hard to have a big day against the guy.

yeah because everyone knows tailgating and suicide go hand in hand

The dude looks like an uglier, skinnier version of larry bird. And larry is ugly and skinny to begin with..... -
5 Reasons why College Football is better than the NFL
Webster Guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Plus college has the classic white stripes on the ball which makes it far more fun to watch. Nfl ball = the color of dirt. Basically its like theyre trying to camo the tiny thing that 80,00p people are watching. -
How anyone could want the Pats to win game one of the season is baffling to me. Forget the wildcard, we are winning this stupid division. The Pats are gonna be awful on the road this year and their lack of skill players on offense will kill them when gronk goes out with his usual knee or shoulder injury. Bills 11-5 wins the division

Do you think Jerry Hughes is pumped for Sunday?
Webster Guy replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hughes is pumped I'm sure, but Manny Lawson is gonna make everyone remember how good he was 2 years ago blocking passes, rushing and especially dropping and running with Fleener or Allen. Indy had 18 touchdowns passes to tight ends alone last year, they make you pay if your linebackers can't cover. Our best cover LB is big Manny. -
thanks everyone, sincerely, Tyrod's Mom

Agreed. I have a feeling Indy is going to throw a lot of passes and get ahead of us for awhile in sundays game, and we'll have no choice but to sling it ourselves later in the game, which would mean less workload for the rb's. Hopefully Shady wont get overused or rushed back because i would rather have the dude sit another month than have a recurrence.

Weather for the weekend? Maybe rain
Webster Guy replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
there is no accurate forecast on tuesday for the upcoming sunday in western NY. ever. this isn't san diego. friday evening you'll get a reasonable one from the local weather peeps. just focus on sending Antonio Brown and Big Ben lots of positive vibes for Thursday and stop worrying about if a sprinkle blows through Orchard Park on Sunday. Go Pitt !!!!!! -
His MRI and hammy injury were not made up. I consider this no news, but man those clips are sweet. Great vision

Amazing tidbit about the Bills' 2015 Offense
Webster Guy replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And Tyrod, Shady, Felton, Clay and Harvin all recent adds. Thats why Indy is scared right now. We have lots of film on Luck, fleener, hilton and their defense. They have zero film on Rex running this D, or this new qb and system we have. Take the over at 46.5 people.... my only free betting tip of the year. -
Matt Cassel re-signed, will be #2 QB
Webster Guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, but this wasn't genius. Standard operating procedure for GM's, they should have done it w Tarvaris too, could have saved some cake. Its much easier to negotiate a fair salary after you waive someone for a few weeks. Cassel and his agent saw this coming Im sure, hopefully TT rocks it under center and we never see matt take the field. -
Do you think our defense will be better or worse this year?
Webster Guy replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Two schools of thought with regard to the defense: 1. Rex's approach: As a newly hired coach, you bring your defensive system in, watch last year's film to see what strengths and weaknesses your current roster has, put your order in with the GM for the types of players you need to acquire in the draft and free agency, and run with what you know, hoping the players pick it up and thrive in your system. 2. The personnel approach: Play the type of defense that matches up with your current roster, pick the best players available in the draft, and run with that. The Rex approach has me a little worried because we're going against two of the best passers in the league these next two weeks, and I would feel a whole lot better playing cover 2 to help our corners, and letting our awesome front four bring the heat. Maybe that's what we'll do anyway, because it plays to our strengths. I would hold off on blitzing Luck until you see that our Dline isn't getting to him in time to disrupt his rhythm. Trying to run a 46 type D with Darby alone on TY or Andre Johnson seems ridiculous. The kid is simply not ready for that, no matter what Rex is saying to the press. My answer to the OP is I think we will be worse until Leodis comes back -
Awesome Clip of Nate Clements crushing Brady

https://youtu.be/DKaE31VgXjU It makes me feel good to know we are going to be doing this to him week 2 -
I must admit I never Bill you are a bit of an acquired taste. I didn't really get all the mad love directed at you from other posters-- not that your stuff isn't good, it just didn't seem THAT good. I found myself frustrated that you always quoted the dead lyrics, wondering why once in awhile you wouldn't throw in a Rush or a YES quote or something that showed off your worldliness and wit. But time went by, and the weekly post-game billy boy posts kept coming, and I slowly got sucked in to the club in much the same way I ended up liking the chubby but pretty faced Jenn Bruce who had a locker next to mine Freshman year-- sure there were flashier chicks, but she was always there and eventually I grew to like her. So welcome back uncle Bill, if nothing else its good to know that there's one decent human left in the big apple, even if he is completely wrong 22% of the time.....

Starting CB Opposite Gilmore While McKelvin Out
Webster Guy replied to bookeredgerson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It always cracks me up that every single poster on this board forgets that Robey is our best freakin corner. Not one single mention of his name in this thread, but he is our 2nd cb w leodis out. Hes mr invisible i guess, except for the payroll dept who pays him $2m per year (he signed a 2 year $4m extension recently) and the coaches who know we cant beat indy or NE without him. -
If Bryce Brown Starts Week 1
Webster Guy replied to Captain Caveman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And if stevie johnson doesnt drop that pass against the steelers in the endzone we dont get Dareus in the next years draft Whew. Anyone know the status on Karlos for the opener? -
I never thought of that angle but it makes sense. He and Kraft are slimy. The saddest part is these federal court proceedings are all taxpayer money getting burned up for ridiculous crap like this. Hey NFL, look like you'll have to change yet ANOTHER rule after the Patriots exploited a loophole again. This time you work with the players union to develop a simple arbitration committee WITHIN the NFL and have their word be final on all suspension issues handed down from the commish. Have all players sign an agreement (or they don't play) that clearly states that no dispute will be escalated past this committee and their word is final and KEEP THESE FREAKIN' ISSUES OUT OF THE FEDERAL COURTS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD you smug, whiny little weenies. It's embarrassing. You can appeal the commish's decision, you have one day to make your case to the committee and the league has one day to make theirs. One day for cross and a decision is reached by majority on day 4. End of problem, end of needed a federal court to settle your business because you can't seem to put a system in place that works. Ok I'm done. We're on to Indianapolis now...

Our old friend Jairus Byrd
Webster Guy replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That dude won the lottery his rookie year with all those tipped passes falling into his hands, some of them skill related but the other half dumb luck as evidenced by the rest of his career after that lucky first year. Sucks for the Saints. They now have CJ and Byrd and all of their ailments. I'm praying CJ gets healthy this season and gives them their money's worth, they're great fans and Spiller is a great dude. -
Yeah I can see that. Eddie and Eric Dickerson. Now if only he can have half the career those guys had we will be in good shape. At this point we know the kid can hammer it up in there, now he has to learn the playbook, blocking technique, how to identify blitzes and who to block when it happens, selling play action and disguising screen plays, how to avoid the big hits and protect his body, etc. Not much of that stuff comes into play in the preseason with runners because of the simplistic sets run on both sides of the ball. If the kid has instincts, vision, studies hard and is coachable he could be the pounder that Roman wants behind Shady all year.

Fred Says Whaley Dishonest With Him
Webster Guy replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im bummed FJax is gone, but Karlos the Krusha will ease the pain as the rotational replacement. This is a new team, with harvin, tyrod, shady, karlos, clay, miller and incognito all new and ready to roll this offense. Whaley is being truthful when he says he has tons of respect for Freddy, so is Rex, but Doug is paid to make the tough decisions like this. If we had 55 roster spots he would still be here, but we dont.
