  1. Agreed. And it was so painfully long, I couldn't get through it all. Two things spell PATS fan in that one: 1. Using the word genius when your coach clearly lost you any chance you may have had to win the game. Hint: keeping your HOF qb on the bench is the OTHER team's gameplan you dope. 2. Not really understanding that the loss threatens homefield for the AFC championship game. The Pats will lose on the road to any decent team right now, that coin toss may have been their season.
  2. Not Tomlin. He's the worst game coach since Jauron. Cost them at least one this year.
  3. Maybe donahoe would trade us fletcher cox for, like our entire front four. Cmon Tom you owe us one.
  4. Funny I only see him dropping into passing lanes maybe 10% of the time. The rest of the time I see him failing to beat his right tackle even when singled up. Hard to think a guy like Jarius Wynn would play worse than Mario has this season. It isn't all scheme people, he rushes a lot and just can't get there. Like, ever.
  5. This is gonna sound stupid but all I cared about this season was Tyrod showing he could be a good qb and win games for us. It was his first season starting and he'd been properly groomed and developed by the Ravens instead of thrown in and ruined like so many new guys. The Titans game was the turning point for me, and not in a bad way. The team is 2-2, on the road, lots of injuries, and the kid just took over in the 2nd half. I remember him coverting a freakin 3rd and 23 on a scramble. Unreal. He caught a pass to set up a td, and drove 80 yards for the backbreaker. We walk out of there 3-2 in a game we should have lost by ten points. That was the turning point for me: this guy is tough, smart, instinctive, fast as hell and accurate. We got a qb at last, and I don't give a crap about anything else because its all completely meaningless without a good qb. The rest is all offseason work and prepping for the big second year (players, coaches and especially whaley) and we win the division in year 3.
  6. Our Oline is way above average on the left side. Overall we will end the season tops in rushing with decent pass protection. Aside from the Fletcher Cox nightmare, im proud of how well the oline did. Far better than most teams. e
  7. Nor should he. He's plenty competent to run a good nfl defense, and our offense next year will be even better
  8. I'd think those offended by Redskin would also have a problem with Buffalo Bills. Killed a bunch of Indians (they called them savages back then mostly), even scalped a famous warrior and got a lot of notoriety for it. Was nominated for the purple heart four times but lost in the selection finals every time. He was a lefty but his horse's name was wide right.
  9. Schwartz got fired twice in the past 5 years because he's an amazing coach then. And he has some super secret formula of defensive scheme that Rex and Thurman just can't grasp, so he's the only guy that can coach it.
  10. Ive kept an eye on him because I'm still amazed at Whaleys 'Dixon over Freddy' decision. Especially considering I watched Dixon in sweat pants most of training camp, its not like the guy had a great camp. Dixon had a few big ST plays past year for sure (what's bigger than blocking a punt with one hand on a bullrush. Awesome). Whaley must've had plays like that in mind when he made the Fred cut. What he didn't anticipate was three things: -by midseason we would be so depleted at RB that we would be picking guys off the streets to come in and start for the complex Roman offense. -all season long we could have used Freddy fielding punts, a sure handed, proven punt returner who won't fumble and can still make the first guy miss. - the lack of leadership issue that is facing our team today. Cant think of a guy better suited to keep this team together right now than FJax. I like Whaley, and hope he stays on. I believe he is every bit as good as ol' Polian for this team right now, but he'll look back on his career and point to the Freddy move as his biggest judgement lapse.
  11. Good thing Whaley decided Boobie Dixon (ol cement legs) would provide more value to the team than Freddy.
  12. Yes and actually Incognito pulls just fine from what I have seen. He's an NFL guard, what the hell does Bill want from him. Weird that Polian would say that. The average age of our starting Oline this season was probably 4 years experience considering Miller is a rook and Henderson is only in 2 years
  13. Hey, big Pat Williams played a dozen years in the middle, Kyle just played his 10th. No reason Kyle shouldn't be back for another season or two. With over $30M in career earnings, he obviously doesn't need the scratch, but he's the type of guy that loves the game and being a leader. I remember hearing him on a radio interview saying he drives home from Buffalo after the season by himself (to Louisiana I think) does a lot of soul searching on the way, thinking about whether he's into playing the following year. If I were Rex, I'd be the one driving him, feeding him burgers and beers in the shotgun seat and talking about next year and what we can fix.
  14. Darby Karlos Rambo Lawson Incognito Glenn All exceeded my expectations anyway. Rex is not going anywhere for at least two more years people. Gotta give the team and the GM time to acquire the guys, and train them to play the way our staff wants them to. I'm struggling to see why anyone thought we were going to be so good with so many new personnel and a new system and a green qb. Because we couldn't get much pressure with our front 4 this year isn't all the coaches fault either. At the end of the day you line up and either beat the man in front of you or you don't. If Mario or Dareus is whining about dropping into coverage once in awhile, fine, but what about the other 90% of the time when you're not beating your man and getting to the qb or at least into the backfield? Rex is taking all the blame it seems.
  15. I thought marcel played a solid game yesterday.
  16. Uh, because we're gonna beat Dallas and going to games is a fun thing to do. Just go and enjoy the experience, forget about why we didn't get into the playoffs. I care more about watching the players play and the excitement of the game much more than what our record is and obsessing over why we're among the 31 teams that won't win the championship this year. Also looking for 4 Jets tickets if anyone has club ones.
  17. I'm not sure I agree that Roman is the right guy, but everyone deserves at least two seasons to get their system in place and rolling. We had some nice surprises this year with Karlos, Darby etc., but the worst surprise was that Mario Williams is really off his game and we were counting on him to have another pro bowl season. Rex or no Rex, it's the NFL and you win with getting pressure from only 4 guys, and Mario beat virtually nobody this year out there. You can't pin that on a scheme or a coach, because in the VAST majority of plays, Mario's job is to simply play DE, rush the passer/stop the run. The same as Pettine and Schwartz had him doing, only this year he's been neutralized consistently, sometimes by backups with no help. We lost Wynn before the season began, and basically had only Jerry Hughes to get after the QB. He's done well, but he can't do it alone. I guess my biggest frustration right now is with people calling for Rex to be fired. Our defense is struggling because our players aren't executing, it's not the system. Whaley is gonna need to deliver the perfect offseason with releasing certain players and signing/drafting new ones.
  18. He is still awesome and a huge asset. Remember when he was out and Karlos was the starter early in the year. We missed Shady. I can see how Chip used to get frustrated with him always pushing it outside, but he's entertaining to watch for sure.
  19. Will always love the guy for his dedication at signing my kids hat at training camp when everyone else rushed to the locker room (him, Levitre and Moorman) It was super hot and everyone was tired but he hung in there for a LONG time like a stand up dude. Very cool and selfless. He's definitely gone after this season, hard to believe he declined from such a solid player only last year to where he is now.
  20. I agree with some of these being annoying, but tinkering with long standing aspects of the game is not one of them. Goal Posts in the end zone? Genius. Lets put more people in the hospital. The extra point from the 2 ? Ridiculous. A complete waste of time in the old format, now it means something. 2 point conversion? Great add. Keeps games more interesting and exciting. Overtime rules? Love it. They fixed the unfair advantage of simply winning the coin flip in OT, now it's fair and more skill-based than luck. Safety measures? (Defenseless receiver, launching at the qb/head hits, concussion protocols etc.) All smart moves, its crazy it took so long. Replay? Yeah it still takes too long, and incredibly some teams still don't have the right system for determining challenges (ahem), but I'm glad it's here to stay. Sideline lasers to determine 1st downs immediately instead of CHAINS ON STICKS, invented in medieval times? (oops, i've said too much, you'll have to wait and see) I see lots of smart, logical changes to the game except the kickoff distance change, which I will never agree with. And cutting off beer sales in the second half of the game, which is stupid. They should cut off beer sales in the first half, when everyone still has a nice buzz, then open the beer sales for the halftime and second half, which is when everyone's buzz is starting to fade and people actually need a beer because the other team out-coached us and made better halftime adjustments and it looks like we're gonna lose again. . . . .
  21. Well I can guarantee you he won't make that same mistake of throwing into coverage on 3rd and medium instead of tucking it and running for the 1st down like he did twice against Philly with huge amounts of empty green space in front of him. I also think the film will show a drastic need for short MIDDLE OF THE FIELD plays where someone in the slot or a TE runs out to the 1st down marker, turns back toward the qb and gets the throw while shielding the defender behind him from making a play. These bread and butter plays make qb's like Brady great. Simple, possession type throws that only take 1.5 seconds to execute and move the chains. No thinking, no risk of INT, no second read, just bang bang. Get your 4 yards and move the freaking chains. Roman needs to work on this with TT all off season.
  22. Had no qb picked until a few weeks before opener, new system on both sides of the ball, qb had zero nfl starts. We knew Percy and Goodwin were going on I.R. after the first month as usual. Honestly we are about where I figured. Excited about TT's potential, Darby, Karlos, Rambo etc. Need another season w Tyrod, he will have a great offseason and put up 10 wins next year. Too much talent and Work ethic there to not be a solid qb in this league.
  23. Normally I agree with tanking in a situation like the infamous Rams Indy game where they both needed the loss to get Andrew Luck. Sure your fans might not like it on that day, but if it means the next decade+ with a franchise qb its good strategy. Last year even if the Pats didnt pull Brady and hand us the W, we still would have picked Darby so that worked out fine. The difference this year is that we need time to gel, to get more experience for guys like TT, Karlos, Miller, etc. Even our vets need to work on defense and learning the system. I think these last few games will be fun to watch.
  24. I would have asked either one of those guys (eric or rex), what about lining up felton in the H back spot every play and hammering Fletcher Cox to help his OLine? We lost because we had no halftime adjustment for the same guy who wrecked the Pats the week before. Plan, observe, adjust, execute. Come on Rex.
  25. I would say it's a push if Sammy can stay healthy. He won us the Rams game last year and possibly a few more since then. But Mack is a freaking beast. The dude is the next LT
