  1. To get future picks and upgrade their weak defense.
  2. although he crushes Aaron in effectiveness this year (and last if you look at qbr) TT's biggest challenge right now is targets. Goodwin is pretty awful, Woods is drawing CB1 coverage from opposing teams, and he has 2 games experience with Hunter. We need to get a durable stud WR in the draft because we're relying on Sammy to be healthy and he just doesn't have the body for it. Remember, he doesn't play hard nosed football like Woods or Clay, he avoids contact (as he should with his history of injury) and yet he still misses huge chunks of playing time consistently. It's a huge missing piece right now. That's why i approve of the Alshon Jeffrey trade post someone put up here last week. We could make a run this year.
  3. For sure. Shaq hasn't even had an nfl practice for god's sake. He is a liability in all but very specific situational stuff. DT and Rex know what they're doing, they won't rush the kid.
  4. Tyrod called it a "touchdown angle" He has long legs, a Lofton body. Once those LONG dudes get moving they are very tough to catch up to if they get behind the coverage. Same reason Manny Lawson used to keep up with fast receivers and backs in coverage, and guys like Gronk can outrun db's with far better 40 yard times-- once they get striding they're moving faster than they look.
  5. Seymour is coming along nicely after the injury, he was everywhere in training camp and will replace Gilmore if he beats Robey out for the CB job. loser gets nickel corner role, still a very important job in this D
  6. There's nothing to dislike about Kiko, he had nothing to with where he's playing now, if it were up to him he'd still be here with us. I just can't wait to watch Mills handle Mario all day with no help required. There's a lot to dislike about him. He's in there with the Jarius Byrd, Jason Peters crowd, except at least Peters can play football.
  7. His hair is the only offensive, unconstitutional thing about Kap. His passing is comedic, and lord knows the world needs a good laugh. I still fail to see how his protest will ever change a single thing except for simply reminding us that everyone gets the right to protest. Maybe there is value in that. Either way I hope we beat the 'fro out of that dude on Sunday.....
  8. Not mentioned here is that if you can't ever get to the qb and you're a 6' 6 playing DE', you're more valuable to the team dropping into a passing lane and going for a batted ball or screwing up timing on the short stuff than you are being a non-factor in pressuring the qb.
  9. Karlos is a young dude with a history of bad judgement and poor work ethic/discipline. Everybody that runs behind our Oline seems to do well, we are simply taking the approach that this guy has shown a pattern since college of questionable character, and his upside isn't enough to babysit the guy. Concussions and weight problems also tend to never go away in the NFL.
  10. I disagree that the only stat that matters when you're discussing qb's is wins. Lots of great qb's with awful defenses, including a few this year.
  11. On top of all the other things he does well, Woods also gets open. You need to watch the game films. Its consistent. He also had a long td wide open and TT missed him badly. Everyone can be replaced, but Woods is tough to match when u look at the whole package. We will sign him because the guys making the decisions are looking at the actual game films and not just watching it once on sunday and making erroneous conclusions.
  12. He would never be able to put together the money to buy the Bills. The league has a maximum financed percentage that would have had him trying to scrape up $750M. No way.
  13. Its also nice to see Belichick not getting to ever have Kyle play for him in his quest to field an all white team. He praises him at every turn (as he should). I can see 95 taking a few years off when he retires, then coaching at LSU
  14. Happy with the line overall. Acceptable amount of penalties (except richie last week), Tyrod upright most of the time, good run blocking. Roman never impressed me as a game caller but he knew Oline's and blocking schemes, I wonder how much credit he deserves here. Nice to have a solid front. Its how u get into the playoffs.
  15. We need a major upgrade at WR. Aside from Woods, I just don't see anyone else as a significant threat and I just don't think it's wise to rely on Sammy being healthy in order to have a serious aerial attack. The guy is simply injured too much. I saw someone post about trading picks for Alshon Jeffrey, currently in a contract year. I'm not sure who it is, and maybe the best bet is to wait until the draft, but Goodwin and Hunter aren't the answer and we're favored right now to be 5-2, defense getting better etc. The Steelers have 5 very good receivers, we need to have at least 3.
  16. he did have 12 men on the field yesterday, which is ridiculous, but I agree the guy is good at what he does. Also, as we have seen this year, the Saints do not have anyone on that team who can play defense. Including Jarius Byrd, who embarrassed himself mulitple times on their monday night game. It wasn't all Rob's fault like they made it seem. That's mostly on the GM
  17. The only thing as satisfying as converting a fake punt or field goal (remember the Moorman to Ryan Denney one?) is shutting one down. I know there are other special teams coaches, but I'm giving credit to Kathryn Smith for that one. The Bills said they were practicing for that play, and as we all know, nobody prepares like a female. I mean, how many wedding planners are males? Ever been to your kid's open house and see the male teachers winging it and the female teachers handing out color coded, initialed agenda's with personalized gift bags? Well I have, and I'm taking back what I said initially about the Bills hiring a woman coach being some PR move by Russ Brandon to make them seem more progressive or something. Nice job Kathryn and the ST coaches! That play iced the game for us.
  18. Don't use the word "at" at the end of a sentence. My english teacher is a TBD member and she used to say "only weenies do that.' So the question would be Where ARE (not "wheres") all the Todd Bowles fanboys? This will make you seem less uneducated when you axe a question....
  19. Only there is a huge difference because Mario couldn't just keep his mouth shut and show a little class, move on to another team and try his best. He had to slam our organization, blame everyone but himself when he knew he couldn't play anymore, and scam some GM into giving him $10M. I can't recall a player ever stooping so low and I'm glad my prediction about him was correct. If I were the Fins I would cut the guy today and start developing younger players at that spot, it's not like he's a leader or team player that can help in other ways, he's a negative, just like he was here last year.
  20. Hate to say it but he is starting to remind me of jarius byrd in his contract year--shifting slowly from team player to selfish player as the season rolls on. And his agent telling everyone he's elite when he's just pretty good....
  21. All you had to do was watch the game tape from last year, it was so obvious. He cant beat single blocking on an average RT. Ever. Blamed the system because he wanted to squeeze another $10m out of his burned out career. He found a sucker in Miami. And a bunch of posters on this board too, who for some reason didn't seem to watch him losing virtually all his one on ones last season.
  22. How about 60 plus carries with a 5.5 ypc average and 3 scores last year. Zero fumbles or concussion, durable, team player, showed up in shape and has already had some nice runs this year including a direct snap 15 yarder and a speed run around the corner last week against the Pats. Also not fat and lazy, which always goes over well with teammates.
  23. Yeah that was a nightmare. Cox ruined that game for us. These are the times you can really utilize a guy like Felton or Clay as an H back to pound on this guy and wear him down. Also, my idea for naked cheerleaders as a distraction should be considered here. Hell, even if they wear paisties that might work, every man has his weakness, and its L.A. after all.......
  24. Our NFL rushing title was a little misleading because of Tyrod's yards scrambling (some were designed runs but a small percentage) Still, Roman's "block down" system seemed to work well with the big boys and he deserves some credit there. He is a perfect example of a good coordinator who wasn't a great game caller. This is a huge aspect of coaching I never hear the talking heads mention. Game calling is an entirely separate thing from coaching and game prepping. Look at how good Pettine was at calling the D, or how Chan calls offenses--some guys have a knack for it and some dont. Also, you have to be up in the booth to call the offense. Its a joke to think you can see the field properly from the sideline. Keep it goin Lynn!
  25. Shaq is a DE. You ease him into the game as a situational pass rusher. Hand down, rush the passer, work on beating an NFL tackle. Seems a natural for a 4-3, not sure how his speed is if he has to drop, something I don't think they had him doing at Clemson. Mostly it was he and Dodd going full out upfield every play. Best 1/2 punch in college ball last year.
