Throw us a bone obnoxious Sully
Webster Guy replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point. About the only satisfaction I get from the few Sully musings I read is knowing he actually uses proper sentence structure and grammar. As for the content..... like someone on TSW recently said: negative articles get more clicks, and clicks pay the Bills. -
I think a 9-7 record with Tyrod at qb and a midseason OC change is a reasonable job. Hard to think that if we had Lynn all along we wouldn't have won that Baltimore game, which as it turns out would probably put us in the playoffs if we win out, as we'd have the tiebreaker on them and Miami. I hope Rex stays, and I think the players do too.

Watch, Elway will find a QB
Webster Guy replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So because Peyton Manning decided to go there that made them a real organization? The 6 seasons before Manning decided to play there they averaged less than .500. And now that he's gone they are right back to mediocre. Elway isn't some great GM. I actually like the Broncos but give me a break with this "real" organization crap. They're just like most franchises: if you're lucky and get a stud qb you will win and if you don't have one you won't. Watch and see. -

A "real" organization would have locked up Dumervil instead of losing him to a clerical error, signed Von a year earlier before he was superbowl MVP, and kept Osweiler happy enough to stay. We'll see if your prediction comes true. If its a proven guy, I guess Foles and Romo are the targets, but they have huge injury and consistency issues. Maybe there's a genius solution out there, but I don't expect to see Denver doing anything but declining unless Trevor improves significantly. -
How are the Chiefs a playoff team?
Webster Guy replied to somnus00's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You were the first one to mention special teams. The best punt return man in the league for a long time was their own Dante Hall and then they took Tyreek Hill on the last day of the draft and he's been even better than Hall in his prime. The kid has given them at least 2 wins this year including that huge OT win in Denver a few weeks ago and a Raiders win. With Hill getting multiple td's in the same game already this season, I'd say theyre 8-6 without the kid at best. He ran a 4.25 at the pro day and still dropped in the draft because of a domestic assault conviction involving his pregnant gf at the time. KC rolled the dice and hit a grand slam with this freak. -
Doug Whaley - The Tim Graham Feature Story
Webster Guy replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If only Graham was half as good at his job as Whaley is at his, we'd have some decent journalism around here. Doug should write an article about Graham and Sully. I can see it now: A Tale of Two Sensationalist Hacks. A GM's Look at How Tim and Jerry Should be Replaced By Tom and Jerry--At Least They Know They're Fools..... -
Adam Schefter: Rex Ryan to be fired end of season
Webster Guy replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesn't matter who you try and get to coach if you don't have a franchise qb no veteran coach is going to take the job. Rex took the Jets as far as you can take a team (AFC title game twice) with a so-so qb. But he mustve forgot how to coach so we need to fire him and replace him with a coach that can also tackle running backs. -
He has a cannon arm and once in awhile makes spectacular throws, but he's weenie. wouldn't last a day in B.lo

In what order do these four need to go:
Webster Guy replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whaley did an incredible job of getting us 5 very good LB's with only burning 2 second round picks in Preston and Ragland. He stole hughes, zach, and lorax. The Shady and TD Mike backfield is a top 5 tandem in the league. Oline is above average. His drafting is mediocre but so are most teams drafts. So what is your new "genius" gm going to do? Get all new scouts and find the next Tom Brady in round 6? Our roster is talented enough that we could make a superbowl run with an elite qb, that's how you judge a gm. Getting that qb doesn't happen without completely tanking or dumb luck like the Cowboys had with Dak. -
Open letter to the Buffalo Bills
Webster Guy replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmmm. I like watching us play, this team is fun for me. Tyrod's slippery runs, Shady and Mike great tandem, Sammy is back. We average 24 or so points a game which is above average. You know there is no chance of winning a championship without a stud qb right? Maybe you thought there was a way it could be done since Baltimore did it once like 20 years ago, but I never did. That's whats making you so frustrated, you're forgetting the big flaw in the NFL is that we can go several years without college football producing a single elite qb for the pro game. So until you get lucky in the draft with a qb, you need to just enjoy watching the ACTUAL GAME of football and the x's and o's of the battle and stop worrying about a championship because its not happening with some free agent qb. Football is like life, its about the RIDE man. Im laughing at all these people dumping tickets for $20 right now just because we aren't going to the playoffs. Gonna miss a really fun home game showing by the boys. Too bad you can't enjoy it. -
If "it" happens on Sunday...
Webster Guy replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In order for "IT" to happen, there would have to be at least a -3 net turnover for the B.Lo, which isn't our style. The upside is A.Lynn might see how good Pryor is and convert TT to a slot guy/wildcat/option/3rd down specialist next year. Remember, this game is supposed to be FUN people..... -
Be honest...who wants to lose to the Browns?
Webster Guy replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going to the game. I like to watch the BIlls win, so...... -
this is an interesting take. that approach also lets you take less...er....intelligent players and get them up to speed faster with less complex stuff involved--just playing read and react on instincts.
-
So all the players, as they were running to tackle the ball carrier in a huge home game that would have kept playoff hopes alive, said to themselves "I hate our head coach, so I'm only gonna try and arm tackle this guy........" ok

I think Rex should stay another season here's 5 reasons why: 1. Our defense did not get rolled these past few games because of coaching. We simply could not execute on the field. Bell was running through an 8 man front all day, what the hell do you expect the DC to do when his team can't tackle? Or what about the Jets, Raiders games when our cb's WITH safety help still can't physically cover their guys? Is a new head coach supposed to fix their technique? 2. We don't have a franchise qb. Look at the good playoff teams, they all have one. We took the best guy Whaley could find for Rex and surrounded him with a pretty good Oline and 2 great RB's but he didn't pan out. Not the head coaches fault. If you believe TT is not the answer, how can you possibly expect the coach to consistently win in this league with him at qb? 3. Making the change from Roman to Lynn took a lot of balls and showed me that Rex isn't afraid to admit he was wrong and make a bold change at the top to better his team. This offseason Lynn can install his own system and get even better. 4. This is just a hunch, but I think Kyle Williams retires if we get another HC. The guy still is a force and we need him on this team, but at this point he's set for life financially, his family lives in the south, and there's a lot of wear and tear on the guy. If anyone could sell him on one more season it would be Rex, not some new guy who is going to "fix" everything with another new system. 5. I think Rex's history is decent considering he's had a bunch of .500 or better seasons with never having a franchise qb. Can you name any other coaches that played in a division with a perennially dominant team like the Pats that had playoff success without a top 10 qb? If you can't, then what do you really expect a new guy is going to do here that all the previous head coaches failed to do? I think Pegula understands that a good year for a coach without a stud qb in this league is around .500 and he keeps Rex here for another season at least.

I'm glad Hogan is on my fantasy team
Webster Guy replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'd say his average and history show he's a mediocre nfl talent. does everything OK, including being white skinned which helps you get on the patriots squad. great story with the 4 years playing Lax in college and transitioning to the pro game. in other news, man that Dixon kid running for Baltimore is an unbelievably powerful dude. What a beast. -
Bench gilmore and start seymour, the kid needs reps in real games and it will help him for next year. Start cardale, rotate in Albright etc. I'm going to cleveland game and want to see some new dudes in there.
-
I find articles like this funny. They just slam everybody at every turn, and pick out examples that make no sense (Darby has been benched for part of a game so Whaley stinks at drafting!) Mack over Watkins! Gimme a break dude. They were both dominant in college and are both elite nfl players now. Julio and A.J carry their teams to the playoffs all the time and Sammy was just as good in college as they were. Saying everyone should be fired is such a lame take. If you don't have a stud qb your upside is limited. Duh. Some years (like E.J's draft) there isn't a single qb that will have nfl success. We should fire all the colleges for not producing qb's.
-
These decisions are a little easier if we get to see Cardale run the offense for these next 3 games. I can't imagine a better place to start a rookie than thw Browns at home, then the Fins without Tanny, and a road game against the Jests. We will see who is running the show in the front office. Rex will want TT because he wants 9-7 for his resume, but we care about next year at this point. I would also bench Gilmore if we aren't re-signing him and let Seymour get another 100 snaps these next three games. Will help him considerably with his development. Good for the team.

Who is the genius that decided to start filming kicks from the low camera on the opposite side of the field instead of the higher camera behind the goal posts? Half these kicks you can't even see if they're good or not because the ball blends in with the crowd. Please stop. And the moving camera on the kickoff thing is a bad idea too. Luckily that's going away. I won't get into the ridiculousness of not keeping the college white stripes on the ball in the NFL (hey, let's take the tiny ball that everyone in the stadium is watching and make it a brown, mud color which makes it even harder to see, ...it's PERFECT !) Oops, I got into it....
-
Well, our 6 LB's are among the best group in football. Hughes, Lorax, the Browns, Shaq and Ragland all stay. Kyle goes one more season, Marcel, Bryant, Adolphus all stay. Darby , seymour and robey 3 starting cb's next year. So when you say completely replaced you really mean 2 new safeties and maybe a rotational Dlineman.
-
Tyrod would be the best backup in the NFL if he had some deep threat WR's and they let him throw long, which we don't seem to let him do anymore. Imagine NOT game planning for a mobile qb, like a Brady or Bradford, and they go down in a game and TT comes in. He'd destroy you. Considering his cap hit next year would only rank him 20th among NFL qb's (the $27 million is misleading as it relates to the cap), I'd like to see us retain him and see what happens in camp. He's been durable and we are averaging over 25 points per game (9th in the league). Don't get rid of asset like that unless you're forced to.

Shaq Lawson Will Start vs. the Steelers on Sunday
Webster Guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Starting is meaningless, we substitute so frequently. Just use a few of your 35 snaps to get to big ben or disrupt a couple plays in the backfield. Shaq missed his entire training camp and preseason, where he is right now developmentally is probably about week 2 of the preseason. -
If Rex and Whaley are still here...
Webster Guy replied to Watkins101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure why Woods would leave. Bills will make him a good offer, and we need durable WR's so I expect it will be a solid offer. I'm all for drafting a WR in the first but please make it a guy that isn't made of glass. Give me a Josh Reed, Randall Cobb, Golden Tate type body please-- no string beans and no Goodwin clones- We need wideouts that will be playing all year-
