i guess all D-backs are streaky, and Leodis certainly was no exception, but when he was at the top of his game the dude was a baller.

A.Williams Keep Him or Let Him Walk ?
Webster Guy replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the salary structure/cap situation says keep him, so if he wants to play and the docs clear him, then get that dude a helmet ! and give him a shot at crushing Landry Jones to even the score. Cheapass punk. That hit was so ghetto. what a loser. but if Hooker is sitting there at 10 we'd better take the kid, and A A ron can compete with him in camp. -
What's the Gillislie scoop ?
Webster Guy replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love TD Mike, as all Bills fans do, but the guy does not have the self preservation instinct out there. Takes brutal hits with that upright style, he needs to take a page from the Shady School of Slipperyness. I think he got concussed last season no? He's the perfect complement back, like Coleman for Atlanta. -
We need to start rooting FOR New England...
Webster Guy replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm in. Got nothing to lose. Getting a tattoo of Bob Kraft's bloated smug face on Thursday. When he dies, which I hope is toda-- I mean never, I'll always be able to see him on my body.... -
Funny, the three teams they faced in the playoffs all had relatively weak defenses. Houston got in because Carr went down in Oakland, Pitt still hasnt recovered from Polamalu leaving and has a weak secondary, and the Falcons D only played one half of football. Not the most difficult three teams to face. Shanahan screwed up so badly on calling a drop back play on the 35. Took em out of fg range, cost them the game.

Man, this one is hard to take
Webster Guy replied to billsfanmiami(oh)'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shanahan lost it for them with the drop back play that took them out of range. He called a crappy second half for sure, but you're right on that series once they got to the 35 it should have been Freeman or Coleman 3 hard runs to the 30 and clinch the game with a 47 yarder. Huge mental error by shanny. At halftime he was looking like a genius, but he melted down on that series. -
I don't think a coach can be called the best ever if he happens to have the best ever QB on his team all these years. It's the Barry Switzer factor: you can be mediocre as a coach and still win championships. Belichicks defense is good this year but traditionally he's a middle of the road ranking and they draft heavy defense most years. Outcoached against Denver last year in AFC championship game, Last trophy they won was because Pete Carroll (also way overrated) decided to pass at the 1 yd line. Best two head coaches today are Reid and Arians. Most overrated Tomlin, Belicheat, and Pete the weenie.

It seemed like there were more kicker duels this year than I ever remember. Green Bay knocking off Dallas comes to mind, but there were tons of other games including a few Bills games where the difference between a W and L was the kicking game. Also the longer extra point makes this position even more critical. There was one Sunday in November where a dozen extra points were missed, including two that day by Nugent for the Bengals which ultimately cost them the game (and me some cash) Carpenter missed 4 this season and ranked near the bottom of the league. There used to be two criteria for grading kickers: kickoffs strength and field goal skill. Now extra point accuracy adds a 3rd dimension. I would imagine the Bills have a priority to upgrade the kicking game and I'm wondering what the college draft is offering this year, and where would we likely take one?

Evaluation of 5 Quarterbacks in the 2017 Draft
Webster Guy replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everytime his evaluation comes out I play the The Gunner's Dream from Pink Floyd and read his post. (...."quarterbacks come rushing, up to meet me now....) I'm always struck by the same thing: why in hell is the position so damn hard to play, and even harder to evaluate and grade a prospect, even with 4 years of tape on some of them. I would rank "throws with anticipation" as the number one factor from what he said. Tyrod has just about everything else (not sure how to grade TT's footwork after his late season, just-stand-there-and-dont-move-your-feet-at-all approach) but he doesn't have that, as the Gunner pointed out. In the NFL, that's one thing all solid qb's have. I'd like to see one other category: fun factor. Tyrod has it, Rogers, Russell Wilson, Cam. I like watching fun qb's that improvise and play a little sandlot here and there. it's worth something to this fan.... -
5 draft picks that put us back in the playoffs.
Webster Guy replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like posts like this. Trying to learn more about the college players now. I cant see past round 1, and no draft ever goes the way anyone guesses it will, but I see FS Hooker from Ohio State being the highest on the Bills board at 10 and in a huge position of need. Dont see how they pass him if he's still there. -
Marquise Goodwin: Stay or Go?
Webster Guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read through all the posts and this is the perfect reply. Winning a job in camp without getting hit hard is a risky way to set up your receivers for the year. They must be durable and tough FIRST, and then look at route running, separation etc. This is why we'll retain Robert Woods and let Goody go elsewhere. And draft or sign a solid WR. At this point we have to assume Sammy will play half the games in a season. -
Hooker

Some good ideas. Skills and drills. Fun stuff. Do field goal contest with all players not just kickers, punt competition, strongman stuff. Afc nfc tug of war over a mud pit etc. Have it in seattle or denver so the players can roast a joint together afterwards

Teddy Bridgewater expected to miss all of 2017 season
Webster Guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Terrible news. What a bummer for the kid and the Minny fans. -
Yup. Plus the steelers secondary is awful and really hasn't recovered from Polamalu retiring. Most of Hogans stuff was blown coverage. I still think Tomlin is overrated as a game coach. In other news, Jerry's articles continue to generate outrage and discussion, so the hack wins again.
-
Exactly. And Ben had his worst outing all year accuracy wise Gilmore is Jarius Byrd 2.0
-
I rewatched the Seattle game last night with that same thought in mind: this was one of his best games, a playoff style test, how did he do in terms of pure qb play? My observation was (aside from how overrated Gilmore is and how Woods smoked Sherman consistently) that TT really does have vision and decisiveness issues as a passer. I think some of it relates to the fact that he has a higher percentage than most to get the first down when he tucks and scrambles so he's more inclined to do so. But he was late on a fair amount of throws and others he wasn't seeing at all. I still think we keep the guy under a restructured deal and Cardale competes against him in camp. I think Dak will have started a trend of mid round qb picks and I see us going qb 4th or 5th round.

Deshaun Watson a Bargain in 1st for Bills - DP
Webster Guy replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
QB is the key man. I wouldn't blame us for trying, but if Hooker is there at 10 I think there is no way we pass on that dude. He will be BPA by then AND at a huge position of need for us. Lock the kid up for 5 years. The odds of Watson making it in the NFL are very very long, but Hooker is 99% guarantee assuming he doesn't have a Dareus brain. -
Got to meet Arthur Blank once after a Falcons game. The nicest, down to earth guy, loves his players and is very sensitive to the families of the players and what some of them have been through. The lack of energy at the Atlanta stadium is mostly a combination of dome's being lame and lack of tailgating (there is zero). But don't confuse that with apathy, they love their team, they just don't know how to party like we do up north. Thats why we won the war. Our troops were ragers.....

I'd like to see Tyrod with a new reasonable, contract for next year operating with 3 good receivers in a west coast offense with a new OC that knows how to run it. Bring in as many qb's as you want, drafting or otherwise. If they look better in camp than Tyrod, hand them the keys. You have to admit that Roman and Lynn arent exactly a qb's dream at OC, and we havent had the best group of wr's available these past few years.

Old Argument New Data, re: HOF QB Makes Any WR Great
Webster Guy replied to moshermw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see your point, but neither the packers or steelers defenses are championship caliber. They both deserved to lose because of it. -
Yeah but they had to use two black guys at running back, so their quest for an all-white offense still falls short. Losers.

IF I WERE BILLS GM FOR 1 MONTH!
Webster Guy replied to 13player's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think abut this season and what would have won us three more games. Better kicker, better run defense, stud WR -
Great article by Packers TE Cook
Webster Guy replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seemed too good to be true. The guy would have to have been a journalism major with lots of experience. Is there even such a thing as journalism anymore in this clickbait world?
