  1. The plan should be to get the franchise QB in 2018 guys. It just isn't likely we'll find one in free agency or this year's draft, which means if we want to win a championship we need to think long term and not about how we can win 8 or 9 games next year. This draft should be WR, three D backs, RT and getting a stud kicker. Set the table for two and three years from now. A guy like Trevor at qb with Cardale as backup is fine with me. Tyrod is too good to keep for a rebuilding year but not good enough to win a championship. If he stays we continue to tread water and end up drafting at 15 next year when the franchise qb's are gone. This is the curse of mediocrity and the reason you don't ever want a GM or HC to prioritize winning now just to say he got in the playoffs over building a legitimate championship team. There's a difference and I hope Pegula sees it. We will never get a franchise QB anywhere but the draft, but I would not draft a qb this year. Gotta think long term. 2018 draft is where we can hit paydirt on a qb.
  2. Dallas, Seattle or Raiders. They prioritize a player's character last on the list.
  3. Haha yeah maybe you're right. WR's can be almost as tough as qb's to predict in the draft but I have a feeling Davis is going to light it up no matter where he goes.
  4. Atlanta trading away a ton of picks to move up in Cleveland's spot and get Julio Jones was one of the best moves in recent history. The guy has led them to the playoffs multiple times and would have been responsible for them winning the championship this year if Shanahan knew how to game manage better. Watch the Corey Davis highlights he is as close to Julio as I've seen. 6'3 but sturdy build, incredible hands, has Andre Reed YAC skills. Completes the skill positions on our offense from a personnel standpoint. The only way we don't take that guy is if Adams, Hooker or Trubisky fall or we get an attractive trade-down offer.
  5. Playing as an NFL interior lineman on either side of the ball for this long is simply incredible. To do it at his level-- he's a freakish combination of strength, technique and discipline. A pro's pro if there ever was one. So glad he is coming back.
  6. Agreed. I would take it one step further and say Gilmore is significantly overrated. By all accounts he has zero locker room presence or leadership skills, his coverage is pretty good but far too inconsistent to be considered elite (if he's not holding, the receiver is usually open), and his run support is Deon Sanders 2.0. If we start the year with Darby n Seymour with Robey as the nickel corner I would happy with that, considering it would give us the ability to retain some quality versatile dudes like Robert Woods and get a proven safety in free agency, possibly a durable WR that we know will last 16 games in a row. I don't blame Gilmore for going to get his big payday, but not with us. We aren't currently structured to retain him, as I'm sure Overdorf is telling Leslie Fraser every day.... You watch Seymour have a great offseason and camp (like he did last year as a clueless rookie), come in for his sophomore year and kick a$$ baby !!!!!
  7. Whaley's had some good moves as GM, but his Boobie Dixon over FJax move was the most foolish thing I've seen since Donahoe let Big Pat walk over a few bucks. Sometimes these GM's get CEO's disease and think they know more than they do.
  8. Looks like it. Not just from the Me-First Team-Second crap he pulled here, but also from the significant decline in play he had. Saints got burned badly on that deal. PFF is such a hack site, they practically admit it themselves. They've always overrated Byrd for some reason.
  9. Nothing to see here. Before any personnel moves are proposed or commented on, please at least take a look at that players contract, what the restrictions and cap numbers are, then weigh that against production and team value. In other words, think before you post. Oh, and throw in some humor if you can. This can be such a better message board.....
  10. I'm torn on this because TT is one of the most fun qb's to watch in the league, and we ranked in the top half of the league in points. Great leader, seems very level headed and calm under pressure, works hard, gives 100%, showed improved ability to avoid the big hits last year, nice touch on the long ball. He started to show a little progress toward the end of the season in setting his feet more and keeping his eyes downfield for an extra second before scrambling last year, and if he stays I think that will be the reason why--because McDermott sees a guy that is still improving, has great instincts and is probably one of the top 10 pure athletes in the game. The major issue is field vision. The bills receivers and TE's were open more than they get credit for last year. In reviewing the All 22 it's hard to give Tyrod more than a C- for finding the open man at the right time. Sanjay Lal alluded to this on a Murph interview once, and the film seems to support this. So our new OC Dennison is known for a QB friendly system which would likely move TT under center, with a lot less shotgun/pistol stuff. He will probably push for a simplified passing system, and bigger, durable WR's that are easier to see than guys like Goody. That's why I think Corey Davis is our guy in the 1st round, the best WR in the nation with Julio Jones type potential. I'd feel OK with Trubisky at 10 or maybe Mahomes on a trade down, but I think 2018 is the year to take a QB for us.
  11. Wasted pick? Hasn't played a down yet. You have no clue
  12. "Skurski digs deep into whispers of a comeback.... helps Harvin write book entitled: "migraines, hookers and hamstrings...... an inside look at Percy "muthaf@ckin Harvin"
  13. No Kidding. People are trying to judge his draft value and he hasn't played a snap. Come on dudes...... 2015 SEC player of the year. And this summary: Demonstrates the blend of size, aggression, instincts and reliable open-field tackling skills to project well inside to 4-3 and 3-4 principles, alike. Takes accurate first steps and shows excellent closing burst to arrive with pop at the point of attack. Works off blocks well with balance and anticipation, looking through blockers to keep his eyes on the prize, doing a much better job downhill rather than in reverse. Physical striker with reliable breakdown skills in the open field, wrapping, driving and finishing. Dirtiest jersey on the field and plays each snap like it is his last. And yet, we screwed up drafting him already......
  14. I loved rex's personality, his optimism and his interviews. His attention to detail was sub par, but he loved his players and they loved him. Personally I dislike the quiet type head coaches like Bowles, Belicheat and who can forget our own skeletor Jauron. I think enthusiasm and optimism, combined with an outgoing personality is a great thing for any leader or manager.
  15. Great athlete, really good ball hawk and lateral speed, but I'm done with injury prone guys. No more Kiko, Goodwin, Romo type dudes ever again on this team. No more undersized dudes, no receivers less than 6 ft 200lbs, no little burners, just good solid hard working athletes with naturally solid builds and football instincts. Except cheerleaders and punt returners. Then skinny and well developed pecs
  16. The same crew that's says TT will cost us $30m and we gave up TWO first round picks for Sammy
  17. A few recent mocks have him there at 10 if we want him. I personally like the trade down-grab Mahomes and another second round pick assuming a beast like Hooker doesn't fall to us.
  18. Here's what I would do: cut TT, restructure Dareus, sign Cousins with the money you just saved (yes he will cost you 18M), and draft Mahomes to back him up, even if you have to burn a 10 pick on him. draft the best wr in the 2nd round then Dbacks all the way (throw in a kicker) gotta keep swinging for the fences with qb's, there is no other way to win a superbowl.
  19. Agreed. His numbers don't warrant a huge contract elsewhere. We will at least make him an offer and I think he might take it. $6.5M range
  20. Because he's going to get less no matter where he goes. The $30m is never happening, so he might as well renegotiate then shop around to see where other offers come from. No agent in his right mind would just say, "uh... No we don't want to see an offer at all..."
  21. If the owner was drafting, or fans like you and me, this is exactly the strategy. You get a stud wr, RT, d backs and a kicker this year and just suck it up for a 4-12 season. Then you get your franchise QB next year. The problem is every GM is so paranoid about their job they're in win-now mode and therefore long term strategic thinking doesn't seem to happen. That's how you get a 17 year drought.
  22. Swap Gilmore's money for alshon jeffrey and keeping woods, restructure TT, draft best safety available in 1st (hooker pls) Mahomes qb in 2nd, another Cb and best kicker avail in 4th. Somewhere in the late rounds please find a freaking punt/kick return specialist. Thats a good draft. Mahomes will need a year or two to be ready.
  23. College highlights soundtracks always crack me up. It's either the worst rap you've ever heard or is some red bull hoobastank sounding white kid singing about rebellion. So you start watching, then realize you thankfully have a volume button and turn it down to 1. But seriously Mahomes could be Ryan Leaf or Philip Rivers with that cannon. His throwing motion is twice as fast as Jim Kellys on his best day. I say he goes early 2nd, if we want him we'd need to wheel and deal before the morning of day 2, figure out who would take him ahead of us and get in front of them.
  24. Combined with an exceptionally strong year for safeties. There are some pro bowlers there to be had. Hooker will drop to us and we'll get a great wr in the 2nd. Then get the best college kicker in the nation and I don't care what else happens we win 3 more games right there
  25. The game was over. The Falc's had it won. Burn clock, set up the fg and go up two scores with 3 minutes left. No need to hold or risk penalties or sacks. It was over. Shanahan and Quinn are both to blame. That's flat out poor coaching and bush league strategy. We said it out loud as they did it "what are they doing with these calls?". Even Matt Ryan should have been a leader enough to audible down to a run.
