  1. If you haven't seen fournette's highlights they're pretty amazing. The dude is a man among boys out there. He will have a Gurley type rookie season if he gets to the right team. I'm hoping the chargers take him instead of hooker.
  2. Well last year it got us in the top 3rd of the league in scoring with a QB that rated higher than Big Ben, rivers, Carr and Wilson to name a few. Not bad for a second year starter who had weak WR's, a fired OC mid-season, a disorganized head coach and one of the worst kickers in the league backing him up. This is why we are going defense all the way in this draft. Our QB is the right fit for Dennison and we need to focus on getting a killer D.
  3. This is why I think Pegula himself got involved in working out Trubisky, to worry Cleveland. Same reason Whaley is supposedly in love with Watson. We want to trade back and a qb hungry team needs to think we might take their man. Buddy Nix used to call this the lying season. If I was Cordy Glenn I'd still be pissed at Nix for spreading the word that many scouts agreed Glenn was only good enough to play guard in the NFL. It wasn't true obviously, but he fell all the way to us in the 2nd and we got a stud LT.
  4. good to his teammates though. i was pretty surprised at how I didn't hate Shady's personality considering all the stuff people say about the guy. i'm glad we have him, and on game day, you are too.
  5. That's not the approach the vast majority of teams take. You assess the starting qb's injury and go with the veteran backup in every case unless it's a season ending injury and you have no playoff shot. Some vets can step in and win playoff games, usually rookies need more experience.
  6. Batavia would be nice for us Rochesterians and Cuse people. Traffic after the game could go both east and west, would be much better than Orchard Park setup. I place zero consideration on the town amenities like some here, we simply drive in, tailgate, watch the game and leave. My concern is good parking lots with lots of bathrooms and dumpsters for trash so the lots don't look like our fans are all lazy scumbags. Keep ticket prices low so families can still attend, design the new place so it's super loud (unlike the Heinz field disaster) and sell beer in the second half of the game, that's when my buzz is wearing off and we're starting to lose so I'll need a drink somewhere in the late 3rd quarter.
  7. I think Oj Howard will be the pick if we go offense, but Corey is a beast for sure.
  8. I believe McDermott when he says we already have a #2 WR on this team and I also think this will be the year Sammy stays on the field for the whole season. Howard is basically a WR. If you haven't seen his highlights it's worth the 4 minutes. As much as I wanted Corey Davis I can see Howard being as much of a force but a better blocker obviously. Trade back, get Howard and a 2nd round pick, I'm happy.
  9. Brady had some spells of poor throwing last season. So did Big Ben. I think you'll see that continue to increase every year as they decline to retirement. As far as coverage goes, they'll still play press against the dink and dunk. Cover 3 and man look similar in the first 10 yards anyway. I'm of the opinion that gronk just has too many miles on him to complete a season anymore. The guy has had injuries everywhere and it's taking its toll.
  10. I save all the games and watch them periodically in the offseason so I can keep up with some of you genius level football guys here. The two that stick out as the most heartbreaking but still fun to watch are the Seahawks and 2nd Dolphins game. Anyway, here a few thoughts from Miami: Filling in for Cordy Glenn, Kujo really did a nice job. He has such a perfect OT body, reach, light on his feet, strength etc. Man I wish he could play RT. The Brown Brothers had a poor showing. Zach slower than I remember him, Preston as slow as we all remember. Im now convinced we are drafting a LB early, even with Ragland back. There were two situations where the play call from Lynn came in too late and hurt us badly. One led to a penalty which cost us a 1st down on the fins 20 and eventually we missed the fg and got zero. Gilmore's poor tackling directly cost us points in a game that eventually went to OT. Douzable, Dareus and Kyle played remarkably well. (Pouncey hurt, Urbik playing center that game) Touchdown Mike so fast out there, three runs around the edge just blowing by defenders with speed. Pretty rare to get around the corner like that in the pros. He also returned a kickoff which I forgot, wonder if he'll compete for that in camp? Last thing that stood out was Tyrod's versatility. Kiko was sort of stuck between being a spy and trying to figure out if he should drop, rush or just stay put and play the scramble. It's like TT took him out of the game and they only had 10 defenders out there. Clay and Sammy had monster games on some really nice throws. Nice job by the 12th man as usual. Place was rockin. I turned it up loud to drown out the pain of this offseason.
  11. "you gotsta have a fall guy. You say Hey you wanna be rolling like dis', if somethin go down then somebody goin ta jail..... don't worry, we'll get him out...." Seriously I watch that over and over and I'm amazed at what a loser that guy is.
  12. Leaf is the saddest story for sure. The dude fell about as far as humanly possible.
  13. The only guy in the top 20 most popular mocks that had us taking Shaq was the guy from Rotoworld (Josh somebody). I'm embarrassed to say I printed the chart last year and just looked at it. The average correct picks from the top dudes like roto, Peter king, mayock, kiper the killer, mcshay, collinsworth, SI is about 6 out of 32 correct picks (player and team) Go back to 2000 and start there with Eric Flowers and look at all out 1st rounders. Dareus was the only guy that wasnt a surprise.
  14. Not true, I looked. In fact you should too because it's funny to see where they had players going (Zeke to cleveland etc.). They simply have no idea. Every mock is 90% wrong
  15. Love the red helmets. Remind me of our best years when we were dominant.
  16. The only 1st round guys that have been successfully predicted in the last 30 years are Bruce and Dareus. Every single year the mocks are wrong about who we are going to take. The only certainty is Garrett to browns, Adams to Titans and hooker to chargers. Other than that nobody has a clue.
  17. Oh so nobody has died in a taxi cab I guess? Gimme a break. It's a 1000 times better and if you're implying it's more expensive than a cab then that would be a first for me, using it for almost 50 rides so far nationwide. It's not even close.
  18. I like the idea of getting another 1st for next year and dealing our 10th spot this year. I just wonder how many GM's/owners have that kind of long term strategy. If I were an owner and I had to win a single championship in ten years or I get shot, I'd go with your idea. Maybe even 2 or 3 years of dealing my 1st round picks and then you pull the trigger on a monster draft with stud rookies on reasonable 5 year contracts. They grow together like Dak and Zeke Elliot will. Most fans would hate the wait though. And bold strategic plans like that would keep Sully writing for another 5 years, we just can't have that.
  19. Wha? You'd gladly give an AFC team a #1 pick if you think it will benefit your team more than not doing the trade. This draft only has a handful of sure things, and I think they're Garrett, Adams and Hooker. Outside of that you just aren't going to see a ton of teams wanting to move up because after those dudes there are lots of A minus and B+ prospects. I get the sense from looking at other teams sites that there's a glut of teams that want to move back and one or two willing to move up. Some years it's even, but this one feels different. Don't forget, Dareus was the first guy anybody accurately predicted we'd take in round one since the Bruce pick 30 years ago. So whoever you think we're taking this year, it's not him.
  20. He looked pretty awesome to me in college. Then again so did Corey Moore....
  21. Tough call. I can see both sides. If I was owner I'd leave the name up but that's all. I wonder what his relationship with his children is, knowing he murdered their mother with a knife. I can't imagine they are still communicating.
  22. Well the upside remains to be seen. 5 spots in a draft can mean the world to a team and its future, but it might not. If I'm a starting QB for an NFL team and I know we can't make the playoffs, when my coach tells me we need to evaluate some new talent in a real game scenario, and in the process we likely get a better draft slot then I would understand completely. Your stated goal is to win a title, and higher draft picks help you do that. So you're either a team player with the maturity to see the importance of having a long term strategy or you're not.
  23. That sucks. Looks like another year of relying too much on Sammy's health. If Corey Davis is there and we don't take him, then that will end the BPA debate-we are a team that drafts for need- the only sure way to screw up a franchise. Corey is is going to be a special nfl player. The next A.J. or Julio. Two guys that get their teams to the playoffs almost every year.
  24. exactly. It's like if you build a new stadium it gives you a better chance of winning. Ask any Steelers fan about the old three rivers stadium vs Heinz, and how they can't generate the same noise in the new one because it's open on one end and the sound doesn't echo. It looks cooler but opposing qb's can audible at will, even in the red zone. So in that case, new stadium= disadvantage for the home team. Goodell loves to use the word compete but what he really means is 'keep up with the major markets'. He's such a weenie. This country, like any country, has cities and regions that are more populated and wealthier than others. To say with a straight face that they should all have billion dollar stadiums is ridiculous. The NFL's biggest challenge is that the owners seem out of touch with the fans (except Green Bay), and guy like Roger only makes it worse. He's the exact opposite of what they need in a commish.
