50 Totally and Random and Useless Facts

Here's a pic of a car driving under a ship. The Massena locks in the St. Lawrence River. The car drives under the river. The ship is sailing left to right. http://image.pegs.com/images/SE/03712/03712_G2.jpg -
Well, regardless of who you like to hump, Reggie Bush makes a much better impression than Ryan Leaf did in my opinion. Leaf was very good at WSU, but Reggie Bush is simply dominating. Does he benefit from a strong supporting cast? Sure he does. Carnell is good when he's not hurt, but I think that the Bucs would trade Carnell right now to get Reggie Bush next year. I know you were just comparing rookie years and not the players, but if you did compare the players, I am guessing you would say no contest in favor of Bush.

Just watching the USC / Fresno game: I don't care what team has the first pick in the draft, or what their needs are. If they don't pick Reggie Bush #1, they are making a mistake. He is a man among boys. The best I have seen in a long long time. What a talent. Right now: 12 carries for 201 yards [Edit: now 15 carries 260 yards 2 TD's]

Keyshawn Johnson on Drew Rosenhaus: Dallas receiver Keyshawn Johnson has refused to comment on Owens' suspension, but he was more than happy to talk about Rosenhaus in an appearance on Sirius NFL Radio on Thursday night. "He's a rat that belongs in the gutter," Johnson said. "I can smell him a mile away. That guy doesn't care about Terrell."

When St. Bonaventure played in Syracuse, the hotel gave them the Bonnie Rate. And wasn't DeForest Kelley the lead singer of the McCoys? He was a bricklayer who became famous. Oh wait, he was a doctor- not a bricklayer. -
Bills open a 2 1/2 pt favorite over Chiefs?

It's up to Buffalo -3 now. -
Randy Moss is benefitting from this. With all his baggage, if I was Moss's agent, I would tell him to talk to the media after the game and throw a couple of "it was a team effort" and "I'm lucky and privileged to be here" type of quotes. T.O. becomes the monster and Mike Patrick and Joe Theismann say things like "Randy Moss has really turned himself around". "He has matured into a team player." You know those two would say it with a straight face. Until, of course, he stands in front of another car and won't move.

Meshawn all up in Bledsoe's grill
Webster Guy replied to TheMadCap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw the replay. Correct me if I'm wrong but Keyshawn spun around and made the catch for a split second and a Philly guy made a great play to knock the ball out of Keyshawn's arms. Keyshawn I am sure felt bad about that, but sometimes the defense makes a good play and that's what happened. Drew, in my opinion, would have been better off going to Keyshawn and putting his arm around him and say "We'll get em next time, they made a great play". Instead he says something like "You know, you should have held on to the ball". No sh%t Sherlock! I am in no way defending Keyshawn's preschool behavior- he's an ass, always has been. His behavior yesterday proves this. But Drew should know the difference between kicking a guy when he's down versus using positive reinforcement, especially in a blowout game. (Covered in Chapter 5 in "Parenting with Dignity"... ) In this specific case, it was ill timing by Drew for throwing a negative comment at his WR. It wasn't a mental error by Keyshawn or anything that deserved a negative comment by Drew. Leaders are born, not made. Drew has never had it. He has learned somethings about leadership to elevate him to the status of a "competent fake", but he isn't a smart leader IMO. Bad timing Drew. -

Is Check/Raise a Valid Poker Strategy?
Webster Guy replied to Meathead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I respectfully disagree with you. While the "anchor" of a blackjack table has an "unwritten responsibility" to do as you suggest, I have read that with most casinos going to large decks (8, 12) that the anchor should play his hand according to the regular hit/ rules. As long as he does this, it will not make any difference to do anything beyond using the hit/stay rules that apply to everyone at the table. [Edit: I re-read your post. You are talking about anchors who violate normal hitting rules. I agree with your post.] -
Is Check/Raise a Valid Poker Strategy?
Webster Guy replied to Meathead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course the check/raise is valid. It is used to get your opponent(s) to bet more money than they normally would. If they have a marginal hand and you raise they might fold. If you check, then they think you are weak, put their own money in the pot (maybe even a lot, to make you fold with your "checked, weak" hand). Then you raise above them, they are already in for a lot so they might call just because they are in for x amount of money already. However... Take a game like euchre. When I play euchre for money, there is an unwritten rule among those I play with that there will be no renegging. Some may say, well renegging is part of the game and if you catch me it's 2 points against us. I do not like to play against those guys, because even though I watch the cards and can catch most reneggs, I do not want to have to diligently watch every hand. So in the case, renegging is not "proper". It is an unwritten rule that most use and I like. So, for me, it depends on the game. If a check/raise was ever an unwritten rule at one point in time, it is gone now. ESPN tournaments use it all the time and thats where most have gotten their knowledge in the last 5 years. -

The "white, high motor guys" are good!
Webster Guy replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, Les Nessman said: Les: No parachutes yet. Can't be skydivers... I can't tell just yet what they are, but - Oh my God, Johnny, they're turkeys!! Johnny, can you get this? Oh, they're plunging to the earth right in front of our eyes! One just went through the windshield of a parked car! Oh, the humanity! The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement! Not since the Hindenberg tragedy has there been anything like this! -
Whats your Quote of the Week?

"I'm really happy for him," Wyche said. "And I think the better word is I'm really proud of him. . . . That's a clutch football player. Some guys have to do it a few times before they get that kind of play." -Sam Wyche -
Just reminiscing to a few previous drafts where many (myself included) sarcastically said, "Let me guess, another white, high motor DE". Well, kudos to Schobel and the improved Kelsay for inspiring confidence in our pass rush. Good job, men. Side note: Who isn't psyched to see Roscoe Parrish in this offense? Hopefully soon.

JP Owes that Line a HUGE steak dinner tonight...
Webster Guy replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed.... all things being equal, the line is arguably the same as last year's line, maybe less minus Jonas... BUT, all things AREN'T equal. Look how a mobile QB can improve a line! Very very nice JP... -

Has anyone become a Cowboys fan?
Webster Guy replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I a Cowboys fan? No. But I will watch Dallas a little more closely this year because of Bledoe. I agree with you, I would like to see him experience some success, even though I was one of those who is glad he is no longer who starting QB. Price? I don't sympathize with as much as Drew.
