  1. Nice idea . That kind of versatility would be welcome by any team, regardless of what position he is technically listed at. I guess the reason why I'd be intrigued by him at WR is b/c of what I've seen of him and the various reviews of him. Here is the report from Scouts... Strengths: A dynamic athlete. Has rare speed and athletic ability for his size. Shows explosive initial burst to get off the LOS and the top-end speed to stretch the field vertically. He will be a matchup weapon as a pass-catcher in the NFL. Shows a good feel for reading coverages. Is remarkably savvy in terms of setting up defenders in man-coverage and finding soft spots in zone. He shows burst out of his cuts and will consistently separate in one-on-one situations. He has terrific leaping ability and will make the acrobatic catch. He has soft and reliable hands. Shows upper body strength and power at the POA as a blocker. He continues to improve his technique and angles as a space blocker. He also is a workout warrior who set school strength records (in spring of 2005) for a TE in the bench press (460 pounds), power-clean (335 pounds), vertical jump (40 inches), squat (685 pounds) and 40-yard dash (4.41) Weaknesses: Possesses below average height and speed. Is powerful but lacks a wide base to anchor as a blocker. Needs to improve his hand-usage, angles and overall technique as a blocker. May never develop into anything more than an H-back that needs to be protected as a blocker in space in the NFL.
  2. Actually, I think he'd be a sexier pick IMO if he were a WR. A 6'3 1/2", 260lb WR with a 42" vertical versus a 6'0" 200lb cornerback is one helluva a mismatch. He has the ability to go around, over or through many CBs.
  3. Into the top 7, which is a considerable jump when you are sitting at #8.
  4. I'd actually be disappointed if we spent $3.5-4.0 on an interior OL.
  5. Wow....pretty impressive. This, along with the year he had, certainly helps solidify his position in the draft. After this, you'd have to believe SF/Oak will be taking a serious look at him. More importantly, it may give us some more unexpected options on the defensive side of the ball.
  6. I'd almost admire him more if he stayed away. With very few exceptions, it is almost like being interviewed on the Daily Show or appearing on the Da Ali G Show. The only difference is that the hosts aren't trying to be comical.
  7. Wow... The stones this guy has are unbelievable.
  8. You could turn the question around on Montana and ask if it makes sense to risk his reputation and image, which has led to lucrative appearance fees, endorsements business opportunities, etc. over a single event. Pretty foolish on Montana's part if you aske me. If I was his agent, I would have told him he was risking mulitples of that $100,000 sum by looking like such a clown. Then again, most agents can't see the forest through the trees.
  9. I thought I heard that he was in town during the week, then left for the game. If you are correct with Bradshaw being in town, I'd agree wholeheartedly with you.
  10. He apparently said he wanted to go home to his family. What's the problem with that? He is entitled to do whatever he wants and I can't think of a better reason not to participate. Montana, on the other hand..
  11. I have no problem with what Bradshaw did. Montana, on the other hand, is a bit disgusting.
  12. I wasn't aware that Simpson had officially approved him as QB coach.
  13. At least that would get him off the radio...tough call.
  14. Why don't we just let Bill Polian pick our next coach and be done with this?
  15. As a wildcard For the OC job, I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on a guy like Rick Neheisel, who has had success in developing QBs and running an offense.
  16. Very true, but I was thinking: Gene Frenkle pwns the epileptic monkey.
  17. After breaking down the coaches tape, Jaws said it was the Colts worse OL performance in years.
  18. I think it is possible, but it would take a great effort. UCONN is more talented right now. No disrespect intended; I like the monkey, but I laugh my ass off every time I see the orangataun.
  19. I'd rather give my first born than take Tressel from my Buckeyes and put him in the middle of this mess.
