  1. Agreed, but you need actual power to influence national security. As a minority party, what else would you have them do at this stage of the campaign? As for the tactics, I have absolutely no problem with Democrats asserting that they are also patriotic and supportive of the military.
  2. Isn't there a material difference between these two acts in that Republicans have questioned the patriotism of the Democratic party and its and support of the military (both directly and tacitly)?
  3. Good idea, but do that after you've received what you transacted for..
  4. If given the choice (no guarantee) I'd rather flip a 3rd for their 2nd than take on a 4th round pick.
  5. I can handle the Scots and the Welsh, but absolutely no Englishmen.
  6. Actually, I'm saying they should draft a QB unless they are absolutely certain Losman is the QB of the future.
  7. A few things: 1. If they decided Losman wasn't the guy (an assumption all of this is premised upon), yes I would. This is a team in the midst of a major transition. We have a new GM, a new coach, holes at QB, 2-3 OL spots, WR (possibly), DT and at S (possibly two spots). This isn't a situation IMO where we retool; this is a rebuilding situation where we are at least two years out from making the playoffs. If Losman isn't the guy, this is the perfect time to draft a QB. Otherwise, you will have wasted two years into the future and be in the same position. 2. Losman can't go anywhere else for at least the next year or two; we control his rights. I have no problem with the having great depth at the QB spot.
  8. I'd disagree with the premise that the Bills should only draft a QB if they are 100% sure that JP isn't the answer. I'd submit that the only circumstance you should consider not taking a QB is if you are 100% certain the QB you have is capable of leading you to the playoffs. Also, IMO, this team is at least another year away from contending for a playoff spot. If we aren't 100% sure that JP is the answer at QB, I'd rather take a shot at a franchise QB now than try to find one in two years. This would set the franchise back even further.
  9. If Modrak/Ley don't believe that Losman is the QB to lead the franchise, I wouldn't be opposed to grabbing a QB if they believe he is a franchise-caliber QB. In any event, it beats the hell out of taking a S at #8
  10. Where did you hear this? A media outlet?
  11. I wonder what they will do with all of their tackles, considering they appear to be set at the OG spot as well. Jags Depth Chart
  12. I like your idea, but I'd submit that Justice is worth the #8. I don't see him as being much of a drop off from Ferguson. I would much rather take him over Huff.
  13. Perfect. That being said, would anyone be willing to give up our #1 next year for the pick?
  14. Let's get this straight once and for all. Our TEs play tackle, our NTs play OG and our OTs don't play or are cut.
  15. Sure, if I could use the #8 pick in this draft to take Troy Polamalu, I would. That being said, he isn't eligible. However, if you are equating Huff and Polamalu, I'd respond that I'd rather have a chance at the next Shaun Rodgers, Julius Peppers, Takeo Spikes, Jonathan Ogden or even a potential franchise QB (gasp) over taking a potential dominant safety at #8. Good safeties will be available well into the 3rd round; I don't believe you can say that about the other aforementioned positions.
  16. If we needed a CB, I wouldn't have a problem with selecting Huff. However, selecting a FS at #8 just doesn't make sense to me when you consider there are some talented safeties available in free agency and later on the first day (like Jason Allen).
  17. USA Today Sorry if this is redundant, but I hadn't seen the contract details posted yet.
  18. What interests me in this situation is the relationship Smith and Levy have. As the former head of pro personnel for the Bills, he'd be a great addition if he were forced out. With Modrak leading the way on the college front, Smith heading up the pro operations and Levy, well, being Levy, we'd certainly have a great chance to retool. With Modrak turning down numerous opportunities to advance to a GM spot, we'd also have our next GM in place. Not likely to happen, but one can hope..
