  1. No worries...I got your back. Who doesn't like good harmony?
  2. I'm a huge fan of hospice. Let folks die with dignity and comfort. We spend too many resources trying to keep folks 'alive' for an additional two weeks.... far too often. This isn't a 'death panel' issue....this is just allowing a natural process to occur with a modicum of dignity.
  3. Al Franken is a Senator....'nuff said.
  4. that sort of thinking will take the sails from your wind....
  5. This might be 'the post' of this new year.
  6. Love the preventative self-deprecation. Seriously...that was funny.
  7. Hand him the ball and have him follow this sage advice....
  8. No worries Scott. Solid interview. Loved the 'terminally cynical' comment! LOL.
  9. "I know it's been thirteen years son....but, honestly, 'next year' is the year."
  10. I was at my girlfriend's (now wife) house with her very "non-football" oriented family. They knew I was 'nuts' about football and that I'd be watching the game on their TV. I honestly remained optimistic until the pick six to start the second half and 'mentally' mailed it in at that point. Obviously...as the Bills started to come back the optimism appeared again and it was game on. I still recall fearing they would come all the way back and then somehow lose. That would have been even more devastating. Thankfully, they gave us the performance of a lifetime. By the end of the game, my future father in law, who didn't know jack about football, was giving me high fives and screaming at the TV. It's a great memory for me.
  11. That definitely makes one smile. Have a great time.

  13. That's cool. Your comments were spot on as well.
  14. I'm not an NRA guy but I do respect the rights of individuals, like yourself, to own a gun. I wouldn't, however, engage in or support the "bitter" fight in favor of semi-automatic weapons. I see no place for them outside of the military and I have no issue with Clinton's prior ban on assault weapons. It's reasonable to consider these as WMD's in my opinion. Look no further than this past Friday as a sad example of that potential. As I said....I want our government to do 'what they can' and what is reasonable. Sadly....It still does not prevent a loon from modifying a 'legal' gun and going off. Nor does it stop them from acquiring an illegal unmodified one and doing the same. Morality cannot be mandated.
  15. Different issue....I was merely pointing out the core philosophical problem. You, nor I, nor anyone...can legislate morality. As you said....government can define a law....but it doesn't stop people from breaking it. Legislation for, or against guns, doesn't change the moral compass of the individual. It 'might' make it harder to acquire a gun/ammo but that seems to be the bigger debate here. Also...driving a speeding car on a public highway is a bit different than regulating/legislating against a back alley illegal arms sale...but you're overall point is noted. I've never owned a gun or hunted so I have 'no dog' in this race. I certainly want our government to take steps to ensure our safety as best they can. Interestingly, I got into this discussion with a Dem leaning friend of mine yesterday and he quoted a lot of what I've seen here about "protecting the masses over the rights of the individual." I agreed with him and then asked him a few questions about how he viewed the Patriot act. He got very quiet and didn't really give me a concrete answer. I'm not saying this to be snarky at all..... I just find it interesting how people (of both parties) view the two issues juxtaposed. Individual rights vs collective safety. It's a challenge.
  16. Very well said. I can only imagine the suffocating grief those parents/families must be dealing with.
  17. This is the problem. You cannot legislate morality....
  18. Uggggghhhhhh. It never gets any easier. I have no clue re: the music.
  19. she sounds drunk....
  20. Obama is too busy with his own 'stuff.' Where the hell did this fiscal cliff stuff come from anyway??? http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/obamas-fanciful-claim-that-congress-proposed-the-sequester/2012/10/25/8651dc6a-1eed-11e2-ba31-3083ca97c314_blog.html
  21. to borrowed a tired phrase.....EPIC FAIL.
  22. That's fine. If Hull did that he could have been called disrespectful or classless based on that day's behavior. My point is that the Fins have nothing to complain about here. How do you 'disrespect' someone by running the football....without trash talking (none reported) in a 7 point game?
  23. Yes. The fact that they are calling this disrespectful is hilarious. Stop the damn play. Disrespectful would have been Brady up at the line saying...."Hey Sally....we're running the same play again because you're too much of a wuss to stop it.....set......hike."
