  1. Diary entry or not...that's great to read. Good for you and keep it going.
  2. I love seeing this type of story. Just pure talent...and a cute kid as well. Good for her.
  3. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8951930/tarvaris-jackson-re-signed-buffalo-bills ...says one year deal that could be worth 'up to' 4.5million.
  4. Great speech and I commend him for having the gumption to deliver it to 'that' audience. As an aside, I saw him speak at a friend's college graduation about 20 yrs ago. I couldn't tell you who spoke at my own graduation but I always remembered 'this' guy. He is a phenomenal story teller with an incredible tale.
  5. Equally as eloquent... I laughed just reading it.
  6. I don't really care for 'either' side of this argument in terms of music. I will say, however, that anyone who so 'eloquently' sings the line..."I'd rather be an old fart, than a new country turd." is ok in my book. That's some funny stuff.
  7. I agree. I tell my kids all the time that if a cop tells you to 'get down' you do so and ask questions later. This kid needs to realize she's been arrested on drug charges and she's facing a judge. If she doesn't know the answer to the question....her response should be "I'm sorry sir...I don't know the value of the jewelry." Common courtesy and respect fixes this problem relatively fast. I would have been peeing my pants if I was arrested at her age....not trying to act like it was 'no big deal.'
  8. 90 over 91...simply because of Bruce's health/knee problems. He was a monster in 90 leading up to SB XXV. The following year he was missing games and played SB XXVI on one leg. Both great teams and the core is the same. I just think Bruce was that important and the 'difference maker' in deciding between those two.
  9. Better to freeze a disposable water bottle....just in case you forget it in the freezer.
  10. "Back to the howling old owl in the woods. Hunting the horny back toad." - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John Took me years to figure that out. Especially considering 'we' didn't have the interweb to tell us everything when we were kids.
  11. This is great advice. I read it and thought 'that's very true' and thankfully realized I already do it with a few exceptions here and there. Reminds me of 'old school' advice for diabetics...."If it's white...don't eat it."
  12. I use this graph a lot to show folks that no matter when they quit....there is almost always hope for benefit in terms of lung function. Not the exact parallel as mortality data....but supports the overall premise. As noted, it shows how a 'middle age' smoker who quits.... then has reasonable lung function well beyond average life expectancy. I.e. it shows an indirect quality of life measure to go with your life expectancy reference. Bottom line...smoking bad. I saw both of my parents quit when I was a teen. It can be an ugly process, but there is no question that obesity and smoking are two of our greatest national 'threats.'
  13. "...little old lady got mutilated late last night."
