  1. So I'm driving down the interstate and notice a u haul parked on a grassy area that has a body of water behind it.

I see them dumping 30 plus bags of trash into the public area. I called the non emergency 911 number and these toothless nascar fans probably got a nice surprise from the state police.

Good move? Or mind your business jerkoff ? It's 20,00 to go to the dump right up the street fwiw. I use it often.

No question. That's ridiculous and I'm glad you called.

Easy on the 'toothless nascar' wisecracks though. I happen to enjoy racing.

You even asking has me worried.

Couple weeks ago driving down a backroad in Virginia, see a DIERETV van swearviing all over the place, obviously drunk, and this is at 2.30, schools and kids out etc. Call 911, and it being pretty rural cops ask me to follow him and stay on line with them till cruiser can catch up. I mean these are back roads in hilly terrain, and guy is way over yellow line all the time. I am terrified he is getting to creat of hill and killing someone.

Twenty minutes later cop shows up, I keep driving, call directv with van and report as well. I feel not one bit of regret

Here...you have strong suspicion re: DWI. You, however, didn't see 'the crime' (him drinking) as with the first scenario so i wouldn't assume 'obviously drunk.' I've seen a few medical situations where folks were pulled over and their erratic driving was not related to substance abuse. MI and partial seizure were two that I was directly involved in and I've heard many stories. Psychosis etc.

Regardless, good call on your part. The person either needs help or, as you thought, is bombed. I'm not disagreeing with your assessment. Occam's razor is well utilized here. The simplest explanation is probably correct.... and he's 'probably' bombed. I'd withhold judgement, though, and let the police work it out.

Both of these are good calls.

  2. I actually wanted to throw this out there as well and did not want to start a new thread. What are people's thoughts on trading pick 50 this year and maybe a late round pick for a 1st round pick in 2016? I am kind of interested in that as an option. This way if they entered the 2016 draft with a need for a QB still they would be armed with the ammunition to go and get just about any of them. They could package their 2 1sts and even a 2nd if they wanted and get at or near the top of the draft board.

They can trade a 3rd for an established vet lineman if they want (Mathis can be had for a 3rd). They will not really have any needs from this draft at that point. They can use the 3 late round picks that are left and UDFA to try to find some developmental players and maybe a depth player.

I'd be thrilled with that scenario. Regardless of the potential target next year. I also am holding out hope for a vet minimum guard acquisition. Still a lot of folks to be cut.

  3. I want to take the time, again, to thank the Pegulas, to thank Doug Marrone for being an arrogant prick, and to thank Bill Polian for being a selfish coward (in this instance, normally I love the guy) so that we could be so fortunate as to have the El Petulante/Rex Roman/Doug Whaley leadership of our beloved team. It could be a long great trip.

I also wonder if Whaley's comments means a restructure is very close??

Pure speculation on my part... but with Mario:

    1. well into his deal

    2. Chewing up cap big time

    3. not stopping father time...

I'm sure he/his agent and Whaley have had conversations about this. All the reasons Whaley outlined in quote make sense. Win-win for everyone. As Bills fans, we then have to hope he produces at a high level for 4-5 more years.

If they haven't even discussed this, I doubt Whaley makes any sort of public comment. I, personally, would speculate that Mario has already told him he's willing to do a 'fair' deal and extend. Defining 'fair' will be the kicker. Either way, I love the proactive approach.

  4. Good for the restaurant. If you don't enjoy your dining experience, DON'T GO BACK THERE. I don't understand these trouser stains who feel the need to "yelp" every time they go out for a freakin burger. Get a life.

This should go in the pet peeves thread. I worked in the restaurant business for a long time, and there are just some miserable f$&ks out there who will complain no matter what. Now, increasingly, the miserable patrons have access to the Internet.

...and they have massive internet muscles. Man up and go complain in person.

  5.

That's nothing. I'm giving $1000 to each of my friends when I die. That should shrink my estate by $500.

    Sounds like a recruiting violation!

i think they already have their hands full with swahili-gate in chapel hill

Is this part of the Nigerian money?

There's some gold nuggets in this thread. And yes....this was a very cool gesture.

  6. Now saying the autopilot was switched to 100ft and the plane began to descend...

    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/03/26/more-questions-than-answers-after-report-that-germanwings-pilot-locked-out/

"FlightRadar said its review of data showed the autopilot was manually changed from 38,000 feet to 100 feet and 9 seconds later the aircraft started to descend, probably with the “open descent” autopilot setting, the firm’s CEO Fredrik Lindahl said. The plane slammed into a mountain at 6,000 feet, killing 150 people."
