  1. Excerpt from http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20050...?tbd1026621.asp ~~~ Mularkey offered an example of how Losman's running could help the line. "I've told the tackles you can open up your splits (the space between the guard and tackle) a little more because guys (defensive ends) are going to line up where you split out to," he said. "So if you've got a wide defensive end, I'd take another yard split out and get him even further away from the quarterback." ~~~ Small example -- probably insignificant, but I don't like it when the coaches share ANY strategy with the media. Why tip your hand to the opponent? People from opposing organizations DO read this stuff if they take their jobs seriously. Just give the media the usual BS cliches and don't bother sharing any real football with them -- it only helps our opponents. Again, this example is nothing and I'm probably making too big a deal of it, but the way guys study the game today, you don't want to give them ANYTHING -- let them figure it out on their own -- preferably sometime late in the 4th quarter when it's too late!
  2. Please tell me that you didn't take my post seriously??!!!
  3. You know, there are 7 rounds in the draft and there are 7 continents -- perfect, we pick 7 players with 7 different continental origins. In fact, we should've traded Henry for a 7th rounder just to make sure we had 7 picks in the draft so as not to offend any one continent.
  4. Hey, what about the asians -- they are not fairly represented on our squad. What about the eskimos? -- they're certainly getting the shaft big time!! Every f'ing year someone has to bring up race. Get a grip. Donahoe's job is to sign the best players available at all positions. While we all may not agree on those selections, I'm 100% certain that not one single decision was made based on someone's color or race. STOP BRINGING IT UP PLEASE.
  5. Ummm, geez, I liked the '92 Bills, too, but your post a kind of over the top, don't you think?!
  6. Yes, that was a sad performance, but I'm discounting it. I think we saw the real JP in preseason when he looked sharp.
  7. If we're not in it this year for the Super Bowl, then what the hell are we playing at all for??!!! Of course we're in it for the Super Bowl -- THIS YEAR. In this world of free agency, EVERY year you've got to be in it to win it all -- there's no more building franchises through the draft like the Cowboys did in the 70's. I expect the Bills to be focusing on the Super Bowl this year. If they are not, then they shouldn't even bother suiting up.
  8. When your QB hands the ball over to the oponent deep in your own end, then, yes, it certainly does create problems for the defense. I completely agree -- no Bledsoe = playoff appearance last year (and this year). JP doesn't need to be a hero every week -- he just needs to be smart.
  9. I don't think we have to pull off any amazing deals on draft day. I like the roster as it is right now. I think this is a playoff caliber team right now. We traded away our #1 last year and now we suffer the consequences -- no big deal -- we can live without a #1 for one year. Certainly wouldn't want to make a habit of it, but we'll get by. If Donahoe can pull something off AND it makes sense, then great, otherwise, just enjoy the 55th pick and move on.
  10. A little off-topic, but is there anyone here who would like to see the Sabres revert back to their old blue & gold unis?
  11. Why? Because Mr. Wilson made such a big deal about "preserving the rivalry" and, the truth is, nobody really cares! Yes, a lot has to do with the Patriots whooping up on everybody the last few years. I wanted to see Buffalo in a division with Pittsburgh, Cleveland, & Cincinati when the NFL was re-aligned. It made the most sense. New rivalries would have been formed instantly. Instead, we're preserving a rivalry that isn't even a rivalry any longer -- at least not the rivalry it once was.
  12. Survey Question from www.miamidolphins.com ... Now that the Dolphins' 2005 schedule has been released, which home game are you looking forward to the most? 50% New England Patriots (Nov. 13) 13% Atlanta Falcons (Nov. 6) 13% Denver Broncos (Sept. 11) 9% New York Jets (Dec. 18) 6% Kansas City Chiefs (Oct. 23) 4% Buffalo Bills (Dec. 4) 3% Carolina Panthers (Sept. 25) 1% Tennessee Titans (Dec. 24)
  13. Given that most everyone in Miami *is* on crack, this deal could happen!
  14. 1 pm Sunday ... "Grass needs mowing"
  15. I second that -- Joe Ferguson!
  16. More of the same -- keep working it and eventually you'll work right through the pain -- just keep on skiing!
  17. Makes no sense to deal Clements. The guy is just hitting his prime. We need him.
  18. Well said!! Thank you!
  19. Amazing. Just amazing. Once again, the disfunctionality of a pro athlete emerges. How the hell can a guy who makes NFL-type money be so stupid as to steal something that he could buy hundreds of without even denting his wallet? Incredible.
  20. I can go along with that. Just need to make sure his foot is fully healed and won't be a problem.
  21. No, not a knock on Milloy so much, but I think he did come on the expensive side. Thinking more of Bledsoe. Thinking mostly really that Bill Belichick seems to always be in the know when it comes to these matters.
  22. Ty Law would be intriguing -- could be a nice addition, but I'm a little wary of New England castoffs, if you know what I mean.
  23. humerous, yes, but I think TD might actually know what he's doing with this one.
  24. is that New England is not a 2005 opponent !!!
  25. I liked Moorman streaking for a 1st down on the punt that broke down -- the guy has some real speed.
