  1. LOL! Had payment arrived, Walt Coleman would have been the referee tonight!
  2. No Walt Coleman to bail the Patsies out tonight! The mystique is over.
  3. Success does that. I recall Buffalo getting a lot of press during the Super Bowl years and I think non-Bills fans probably grew tired of it. Just the way it goes. But, yes, there are 31 other teams -- you'd think they could spread it around a bit.
  4. I'm sure that a seasoned coach will be brought in. Remember how Levy is with rookie players? They usually ride the bench for a season or two. Levy like experience and he'll probably want it in his HC, as well.
  5. He's essentially a rookie after having missed most of the season last year. I would expect some bad throws/decisions from him this year -- all season long. Remember how Eli Manning looked last year? Awful. This year is a different story. JP's progress this season alone is very positive. This, despite having virtually no protection and no help from the defense as was promised. Additionally, you have an entire organization that is in disarray with potentially major changes coming at season's end. Nevertheless, JP continues to show improvement. He just needs to play. If there's anyway he could have played a little hurt this weekend, I'd rather see that than Holcomb at this point. Hell, why not just let Matthews take the game -- he worked with the team for a couple of years now -- give the guy at least one start if you're gonna pull JP out. I think JP will eventually become a very solid quarterback. The only way he's going to learn is to play.
  6. The water boys -- they bring their A-game week-after-week -- dashing out onto the field during timeouts. Kicking game is decent. Losman -- expected rookie-type of mistakes from him, but he's beginning to prove himself at this level. Lee Evans.
  7. Yet another good point. How 'bout Levy for GM?
  8. Very well said. Thanks for the reminder of what Marv Levy really was capable of. Too often it's said that he inherited a great team (myself included), buy when you think back to how he managed the personalities on this team, he is really amazing! I wouldn't mind if he had another go-round with the Bills.
  9. Maybe this partially explains the seeming inability of the Bills coaches to make half-time adjustments -- no one's listening!! Nice leadership Moulds.
  10. I don't know what Moulds' opinion of JP was before the season. I only stated that Moulds chose not to work with JP in the offseason. You can read anything you like into that, but the point I was attempting to make is that perhaps Moulds was not all that concerned with "winning now". If he was, then he would have (and should have) made a committment in the offseason to work as much as possible with his new QB, but he chose not to.
  11. Very well said! I'd also add that Moulds knew who the starting quarterback was going to be and he chose to not work with JP in the offseason. If Moulds was so concerned about winning this season, then maybe he should have considered getting to know his QB a little better, work out timing, etc. Moulds has definitely been a very good player for this team, but it's time to move on.
  12. I pretty much agree with your assessment. Mularkey realizes that football is a team sport. You don't see a lot of big heads on the New England squad, but you do see a lot of Super Bowl banners. Bill Belichick doesn't stand for "me"-type players. That's one of the major reasons for New England's success. I'm not suggesting that Mularkey is another Belichick, but he's certainly got the right idea about this being a team sport. This also doesn't mean that we have to run every star player out of town. Star players can be team players, but someone has to keep them in check and that someone is the head coach. I don't have any problem at all with Mularkey trying to pull the reigns in on crappy behavior and attitude from certain players. That's part of his job. Since the depth on this team is not all that great it hurts the on-field talent to bench some of these guys, but it has to be done. It also sends a message to the younger players that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. If these players cannot change their ways, then they need to be sent packing.
  13. Maybe Fletcher & company can do to Brady what he did to Ferrotte!
  14. Totally agree. Donahoe cannot be part of this organization moving forward.
  15. Why? Because he suspends people for having a crappy attitude and putting forth half effort? If we don't get FA's because of THAT, then I don't want those FA's anyhow!
  16. Found it online ... Top Ten Things Buffalo Bills coach Marv Levy said at halftime 10. We won! Woo! We're superbowl champs! 9. Boy, I'm sleepy. You guys sleepy" 8. We've got a long trip home after the game, so I don't want anyone wearing themselves out 7. Now get out there and rest on your laurels! 6. Hey, Kelly. Leave some champagne for everyone else! 5. What do you mean there's two more quarters? 4. Let's plan exactly how you're gonna dump the gatorade on me 3. Okay, boys--get out there and start sucking 2. Wait a minute, if we win, we have to go to Disneyland 1. Hey fellas, more fudge?
  17. Reminds me of David Letterman's Top Ten after the Bills blew a halftime lead to Dallas in the Super Bowl. I can't remember them all, but I remember a couple of them: Top Ten Things Said By Marv Levy at Halftime: "Hey Kelly, save some champagne for the rest of us" "Phew, we won" Anyone remember the others?
  18. I think they'll somehow pull out a victory against Denver (perhaps a breakout game by special teams), but lose the other 3.
  19. Agree -- I don't want to see Haslett anywhere near this Buffalo franchise unless it's a player reunion. He was a fiery player and we all enjoyed watching him stomp on Terry Bradshaw's head, but he's not a NFL-caliber head coach.
  20. Lewis probably would have been a great choice, but the Bengals have certainly drafted very high for several years -- that does help. Lots of people like to talk about how great Marv Levy was, and he was very good, but he was also the beneficiary of Buffalo having several consecutive years of high draft picks. He inherited a very talented core of players and so has Marvin Lewis. While Buffalo has some talent, I don't think they have the talent that Cincinati has accumulated over the years. Gregg Williams may have done the same with the Bengals as Marvin Lewis has done. Who knows? There's no way to know, but it all starts with real talent on the field. Buffalo didn't have it when Gregg Williams was hired and they still lack it today in many areas. Give Mularkey some talent and I think he can be successful. I want to see Modrak and Mularkey stay and I want to see Tom Donahue gone along with Jerry Gray and Tom Clements.
  21. I would have liked to see a run, but I don't think it was a terrible call, either. If Losman throws that ball away, we get to try again on 2nd down. It's basically just Losman making a rookie-type of mistake. He also threw 3 nice touchdown passes. Wasn't the idea that our great defense was supposed to help bail Losman out of his own mistakes? Seems that if Losman put 3 TD's on the board, that the defense shouldn't have had to do that much to help out, but instead, they do a complete meltdown. Has Buffalo ever won a game in which they scored a safety? A safety almost seems like a bad omen for this team.
  22. I don't know -- I think a nice Christmas Eve pink slip for Donahoe would be a nice touch.
  23. "Points For" is one of the tie-breakers. I don't blame any team for running up the score. Buffalo could have taken a knee during the AFC Championship game against Oakland and walked off the field with a 48-3 victory. Instead, we kick a field goal for the sake of breaking 50 points. What gives the Bills the right to be upset with Oakland this season. Sure wish Norwood had saved that field goal for the Giants.
  24. Yes, I saw that too. To me, it seemed to be his right foot or ankle, but I cannot be certain. He seemed to favor it at times later in the game, but not too badly. However, I don't think it was cause to replace him. JP needs all the work he can get right now. He needs to play every down for the rest of the season.
