Detroit Businessman looks to regionalize Bills
ChasBB replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, if they move, they've got to change the name from the Bills to something else. Bills *ONLY* goes with Buffalo -- anything else just wouldn't make sense. -
Absolutely. The guy is a playmaker, plain and simple. He's done it two years in a row now behind a suspect O-line. He's the real deal and not some fluke. Time to pay up and keep this guy a Bill forever.

What is the offensive system run by Buffalo?
ChasBB replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's the "West Ghost Offense" -- kind of see shadows, but it never really materializes. -
Yeah, I remember that one well, too. Then he was wide open the next play, but Kelly wasn't going to throw to him again after that.

Andre Reed's critical drop of a 3rd-down pass in the 2nd quarter in XXV, killing an important drive. The Giants defense was hitting hard and they had successfully rattled Reed. It was a game-changing play, IMO.

Name one position you feel we are the weakest at and why...
ChasBB replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unquestionably DE. Not going to go far without rushing the opponent's passer. -
Reese hired as senior football adviser

What does everyone think about the pickup of Buddy Nix? It's at least good to see that they are not standing pat in that area -- they need some help with scouting talent. http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/560635.html -
Exactly! There is no comfort in coming "close". It's Brandon's job to get guys like this signed and if he can't do it, then maybe someone else can. Results are all that matter -- this isn't horseshoes.

Yeah, amazing stupidity to run a play like that with so little time remaining -- not even giving your QB a chance at a spike and getting at least 3 points out of the deal. I thought only Jauron was this stupid, but it looks like he has a little company this evening.

Yes, that was nice! Great to see that play get some more coverage. It was brilliant. What happened?!?!?! Why did this season have to unravel?! Crap.

Does anyone know what percentage of the total work force of the Buffalo News that the 300 employees represent?

In your opinion, who is the best player on the team ?
ChasBB replied to THE GASH STATION's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, Fred Jackson for sure. Comes ready to play all the time. Gotta get this guy resigned *AND* during the offseason -- none of this distracting crap of signing a guy in October like they did with Evans -- get it done in the offseason. The season is a time to focus on football and the opponent and not on contracts. -
Hank Bullough interested in coming back to the Bills
ChasBB replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bullough, hands down, worst coach this team has ever had. Players had no respect for him and didn't want to play for him. Buffalo's had some bad coaches over the years, but none hold a candle to Bullough. -
Great memories of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat instead of the other way around. Thanks!

Kelly was quite immobile toward the very end of his career. He was great, but he retired about the right time. Maybe he could have extended his career a year or two with a more disciplined workout routine -- who knows -- maybe he was already trying to, but the bottom line is that his best years were easily behind him when he retired.

Could Center be our Biggest problem??
ChasBB replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree about the pass rush. Center is critical -- probably #2 need on this team, but DE is #1 need IMO. -
Any thoughts on Fisher's comments during half time?
ChasBB replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. "Our guys work hard. They really work hard". How many times has Dick told us this? Problem is that Dick's definition of work doesn't really match his opponent's definition of work and it's fairly clear most Sunday afternoons. Well, if team is stuck with Dick for HC, then some players had better step up and start providing some leadership because they're not going to get it from their coach. -
Yeah, you're probably right here. I'm just so fed up with this team right now.

Cut him. Bye bye Ko. What an idiot. It's truly amazing how NFL players don't understand when they have a good thing (e.g. Michael Vick, Plexico Burress, many, many, many others -- FAR too numerous a group of people to list them all). It's as though their emotional intelligence stopped growing at the age of 7. Too bad it's such a lightweight charge. He'll just basically walk away from it with a bigger head than ever.

Who would have thunk it but at QB at the end
ChasBB replied to DazedandConfused's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm willing to give Edwards one more season to see what he can do. He has shown enough to earn another season. As for the rest of the division, I don't think they are so well off as you think. Farve probably will retire. Where does that leave the Jets? They'll be in the market for sure. Cassel will sign with another club for a big contract and there's speculation that Brady may not be back for next season because of his injury. So things are very much up-in-the-air with NE's QB situation. Pennington has endured torn rotator cuff injury in the past and I think some other shoulder injuries. He's done a great job in Miami, but I think he may just be a 2-season stop gap for the Dolphins. It sure helps when you have creativity from your offensive coordinator and a good running game, too -- that can help make an average QB look good and I think that's what has happened in Miami. Edwards would probably be a pro-bowler on some other team, but we cannot know this, of course. It really just doesn't matter that much. Ralph Wilson is not committed to winning the Super Bowl, so he never will. He'll never spend the money necessary for top coaches, so we'll never get to see Edwards' potential. -
Thanks Ralph for putting your stamp of approval on mediocrity. No, we Bills fans don't aspire for a championship -- we are just delighted with 7 or 8-win seasons. Be retaining Jouron, you have assured us that we'll never again know exactly what the HC will do with 30 seconds left on the clock -- oh, the excitement of not knowing exactly how the debacle will unfold from half-to-half and game-to-game. Thanks for keeping it exciting, Ralph. We wouldn't want to get too comfortable in the 'Win' column or anything like that.
-
Yep, it will be that much sweeter when the Bills finally win it all (if we're all not dead, that is).
-
Yes, and the money spent on top coaches/scouts doesn't even count against the salary cap! It's definitely money well spent.

Today I witnessed one of the best coach calls ever.
ChasBB replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. I've always thought this about New England. I believe Belichick could have coached the Buffalo Bills to a division title this year (and last year, for that matter). Love him or hate him (I sort of hate him), the guy is an f-ing genius -- end of story.
