We all know at the end of the season DJ is Gone?
ChasBB replied to Ball Coach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo or bust for me. I'm more of a Bills fan as opposed to a "football fan". If the Bills ever leave town, I'll probably stop following the sport much like I stopped following the NBA when the Buffalo Braves left town. I don't think Jauron will be retained. I know Ralph still needs to eat some of his contract if he's fired, but I think even Ralph understands now that this guy cannot be a winner in the NFL. -
Hey, what's not to love? Easy cupcake workouts, lots of breaks and free time, the paychecks keep on rolling win or lose and no one really cares. Hey, sounds like a frick'n country club if ever there was one. Sweet deal for the players. No wonder they are always found laughing and joking after dismal losses. Winning is totally secondary to this unit - winning is just not in the make-up of the organizational culture and no one seems to care from top-to-bottom. Sweet deal alright for the players.

I was a foolish optimist with 11-5

Hey Cotton, do you work for Fox News? You'd be a perfect fit for filtering out the candidates before we even get to hear them debate (just like Fox didn't invite Ron Paul to the debates effectively deciding who we get to vote for before each candidate could even get a fair hearing). You've done the same. Include the entire roster and let us decide who we want instead of filtering the list like this.

We lost to CLEVELAND at HOME, no less. Does it really matter how easy our schedule looks? Do you not think opponents are looking at their own schedules and penciling in a 'W'in for the Buffalo game? At this point, you seriously have to rank Buffalo down there with the Lions, Rams, etc. We are AT the bottom.

Most Fitting Songs to Pay at Bills Game
ChasBB replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Yesterday" -- Beatles (or yesterdecade, as the case is) -
I really think Ralph WANTS to win a Super Bowl and I said this several weeks ago, but he is simply incapable of it. He just does not have the competence to bring in the right person to run the operation. And if he somehow could stumble onto another Polian type of talent, he'd mess it up somehow like he did with Polian. At the end of the day, Ralph is a business man first, a football fan second. Not all owners are this way. The ones who continually field winners want a winner first-and-foremost, and then want it to be profitable. I don't think any franchise is LOSING money. The NFL is just too lucrative for the owners. So, why the hell not try to field a winner. How many millions of profit is enough? A winning team and a profitable team are NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. They CAN co-exist.

He's handled the salary cap all these years just fine in Indy. He would have handled it fine in Buffalo, too. He probably would have had to make a sacrifice, but he also would have found decent replacement talent if his hand was forced in that way. He would have been just as successful here for the past 16-17 years as he has been with Carolina & Indy. Given that he still has a home here, the Buffalo job also probably would have been his 1st and only choice provided all this other crap didn't happen.

Yes, but the initial offer must at least be respectful. If it is not then it's going to kill the negotiations before they get started. Butler probably just wanted out anyhow for a change of scenery.

This is just so sad on so many different levels. 1. Why in the world does a professional GM call the daughter of the owner a name like that? It's one thing to think it, but it's quite another to actually voice the thought. For all of Polian's many fine qualities, this was just plain STUPID! There must have been several other ways to handle Ralph's daughter's unsolicited input besides calling her that. 2. Why did Ralph allow the situation to exist to begin with that would have his daughter agitating his GM in this way. Polian had his job to do and he shouldn't have had to deal with Linda. Now, from what I've heard, she was a fine scout, but Polian was still the decision maker and this fact should have been respected by all involved parties. Any final calls on a player pick should have been Polian's. For the situation to evolve to the point where he became so agitated as to call Linda a name like that, it must mean that she was insisting on one direction or another as opposed to merely providing her input and moving on. Being the owner's daughter certainly didn't qualify her as the decision maker. 3. It's sad that Ralph felt he had to side with his treasurer in a dispute. Did his treasurer ever nearly bring a Super Bowl championship to Buffalo? Polian damn near did and probably would have given the opportunity to stay on. Ralph has always been a "bottom-line" guy and this is yet one more illustration of that fact. What an unfortunate situation all the way around. And the real sufferers are us Bills fans.

Can we please stop demonizing Jauron
ChasBB replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did someone in this thread call him a "good" coach? Did you read any of the thread before you posted? I believe the poster has quite openly said he is a terrible coach. -
Fewell now ahead of April as interim HC
ChasBB replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The near-constant 3-and-outs by the offense places an undue burden on the defense. The fact that the defense is not last in every category given the time they log is a statement that maybe they are not half bad on the whole. Yes, the defense has some major weaknesses, but the offense is just plain awful and is not helping out the defense hardly at all. -

ChasBB replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would honestly take ANY assistant coach as Interim HC at this point. They can promote the water boy to HC if they want while they pick up the pieces of this broken team. Just get Jauron OUT of here. -
Does it have something to do with Lake Erie? 3 of the arguably crappiest teams in the NFL all border Lake Erie.
-
Yes, perhaps Turk was not the problem after all. The HC needs to step down or be relieved of his duties.

This quote about sums it up: "It was easy," Texans linebacker DeMeco Ryans said. "They kind of had the same formations. They didn't give us a lot of motions and things. So it was a simple offense to go against." http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/846994.html

WTF does that mean anyhow to say "I take full responsibility"? It means NOTHING. Dick, if you REALLY take full responsibility for MULTIPLE pathetic showings, then do the right thing and resign. If you mean what you say about taking full responsibility, then the appropriate action is to resign.

Thank god the Bills took Maybin and not Cushing
ChasBB replied to Cru Jones's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think every man on the roster should be capable of being an every-down player. I don't think you can waste a roster spot with a guy that can only play in certain situations besides the kicker and punter. Other than that, a guy has to be able to play all 4 downs. -
My high school coach used to tell us that we are more likely to get injured when we are not going all out. It makes sense to me. I think if you're going full speed and giving it your all, your bringing your play to the opponent instead of the opponent bringing his play to you. Does this explain every injury? Of course not, but I do believe there is legitimacy to the argument that less than 100% effort will increase likelihood of injury.

How does Fitz's performance indicate Edwards' to be better? They are both backup-grade NFL quarterbacks. Let's see what Hamden can do. May as well. No, not saying he's the answer, either, but give the guy some playing time. This team is very bad. Jim Kelly in his prime could not himself step in and do anything with this bunch I don't think.

Fire Juron at the begining of the bye
ChasBB replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It makes no difference now. There is nothing left to save. The offense just cannot produce. The injuries just keep mounting. It's been said that injuries are more likely to happen when you are NOT going 100% all out effort. Perhaps that is why Jauron's teams sustain injuries. Maybe it's not the camp cupcake training camps. Maybe they are just putting forth a half-hearted effort and are getting hurt because of it. Hard to say. They are really a bad team. -
I hear ya, the guy has looked great the past few games, but a few games does not make a pro-bowl season. Let's see if it is sustained. This is only recent. The ballot was probably prepared before he even went on his hot steak for all we know.

Please stop it! I'm so tired of Bills fans always feeling like the Bills are being slighted. This team has not been in the playoffs for 10 years! What do you expect?! Winning games and making playoff appearances goes a long way toward Pro Bowl recognition of players. Quit whining. When the Bills make the playoffs and guys like Byrd are still being overlooked, THEN you might have a legitimate complaint, but this team have proven NOTHING so far, so do not expect any league-wide recognition. Be happy with the Defensive/rookie player of the month honors for Byrd.

There is a falsehood running rampant on this board
ChasBB replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is not enough to look at total "deep balls" per game. You'd have to look at what percentage of pass attempts were deep balls, how many running plays were there, etc. Just pulling out a single statistic like that is more anecdotal evidence and not really a valid comparison in-and-of-itself. Also, two games by Fitz is not enough to make it statistically valid. So many other things to consider -- weather for instance. Also, how many times was a ball thrown to a COVERED receiver with the bet being your guy is going to come down with it and how many times was ball thrown to only a wide open receiver? It'd be impossible to really break it all down -- at least not w/o a LOT of effort. Here's the stat I like -- Fitz 2-0 -
"So, you're saying when I throw the red flag, I have to throw it somewhere so you can see it, eh?"
