  1. Thank you. Someone gets what I'm saying. And if you think this through, just about every team can make this claim.
  2. I interpret Nix's remarks in regards to how the Bills had them ranked -- not how the draftnicks had them ranked. I could find his exact quote, but I'm sure he was referring to his own board rankings and not some 3rd party.
  3. Actually, I'm not really talking about teams getting players higher than OTHERS had them ranked. I'm saying that each team is going to get players higher than THEY had them ranked because each team is going to rank players differently. It's a virtual guarantee once you get past the 1st half of the 1st round that a player you have ranked higher than the current pick will be available because each team is going to have a unique ranked list.
  4. I hear you, but I'm just saying if you think this claim through, every single team can make the same claim if they are true to their own board. There's bound to be at least ONE guy on each team's board that they have rated higher than the current pick and who is still available. If you were to poll each team, each team could claim they drafted guys in lower positions than they had them ranked. Each team is going to claim they got stole guys. Each team is going to rank the players slightly differently, so it's nearly guaranteed that at least one player on their board will be available who they rank higher than the current numbered pick. That's all I'm saying. It's just an exercise in logic is all. Nix did do great IMO. I think this will go down as a great draft. I'm only saying that the claim that "we had guys rated higher than where we got them" is not such an amazing claim -- that's all.
  5. Nix says that nearly every guy they took they had rated higher. Think about this. OF COURSE this is true. In order for it not to be true, EVERY GUY on the Bills draft board would have to be drafted already. In fact, EVERY GM can make this claim across the league that they had the guys they picked rated higher (except in cases where maybe a team reached for need over their board ratings). Point being, it's really not so amazing that the players they took they had rated higher. That said, I think Nix is doing a great job. Keep it up!
  6. Nothing against Miller, but wouldn't someone who filled the net be better?
  7. +1 It's not that I have anything against the guy, but what in the world has he accomplished to earn that kind of money? So, he's had flashes of greatness here & there -- big deal. We need consistency at WR and just are not getting it. Yes, many, many factors involved here and can't pin it all on Evans, but his salary is just absurd. That's the kind of thing that can create hard feelings in the locker room when guys are grossly overpaid for their contribution to the team's success. I won't be unhappy if he is dealt away. If not, then Chan had better figure out how to use this guy so he can earn his keep.
  8. The Bills got bigger. Maybe the Sabres will FINALLY follow that thought and get bigger, too. Year-after-year they just get pushed around.
  9. OK, your response made me laugh. Sorry 'bout that.
  10. Well, you still only need one hand to count them up. How tall are you? Another angry short guy perhaps? Oh, and how many times has Jerry Rice single-handedly won a game or Randy Moss? A tad more than your man Evans I'm afraid. Listen, I like Evans. I hope they keep him and utilize him. But Buffalo can do better and needs to keep looking for more prototype wideouts.
  11. You need big guys out there -- end of story. For all the Evans lovers out there, what has he really done for Buffalo all these years? Yes, you can blame the QB, the OL, and the play-not-to-lose coaching over the years, but at the end of the day, Evans has not been a difference maker. If surrounded by more talent and coaches who could utilize him better, he could perhaps contribute more, but you just have got to have big guys out there.
  12. +1 And with defenders possibly cheating expecting a dump off to Spiller, that should help free up receivers on deeper routes. I agree with Nix's approach to add talent even if it wasn't our strongest need. Spiller makes the entire team better immediately.
  13. Not me. I loved the selection. He's the type of player who can make things happen -- EVEN WITHOUT a great OL. You just can't pass on that kind of talent. Besides, I don't think our OL is as bad as everyone seems to think. All those injuries resulted in lots of guys getting playing experience which will translate to better depth this season. Given our new coaching staff and our new approach to strength and conditioning, I think our OL will be fine this year.
  14. No need to have a fire sale for Lynch right now. Trade deadline is not until October. Lots of teams will have to deal with training camp injuries, pre-season injuries, early-season injuries and changes in their lineup. We'll get some value for Lynch. In the meantime, he can stay put.
  15. I very much hope the Bills trade down and stock up on picks rather than draft at 9. I trust Nix to do well with additional, yet lower picks.
  16. Here's a sample Wonderlic test. Unbelievably easy ... http://vandalaysolutions.com/wpt/wpt.html
  17. The guy never fumbled -- not even once -- during his college career: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=160929 Making no mistakes is half the battle when it comes to winning.
  18. Chan already said weeks ago that the competition is open at QB. Is this news?
  19. No way. QB is not our biggest need. No, we may not have a Jim Kelly type of talent on the roster, but we have serviceable quarterbacks on our roster who may even excel under Chan's tutelage. Gotta go for a big guy with our 1st round pick -- gotta beef up our lines.
  20. Anyone notice in the parade, the cheerleaders were the "Buffalo Belles"? When did they change to the Buffalo Jills?
  21. I know what you mean. I'm also the eternal optimist. Every year I try to find the upside in things. However, it's different this year. This year I don't feel like I'm feeding myself a load of bull to keep optimistic. This year I sense a real and positive change.
