  1. http://www.hogdb.com/razorback-photos/displayimage-lastup-0-1147.html Edit: I was just a young boy and I my first Bills game was in 1967! It's an experience a kid never forgets. I hope you don't take guessing at your name as disrespectful of your wishes, but when you drop a clue like 1967-72, well, something tells me maybe you WANTED to be outed. Anyhow, great memories of those teams despite the W-L record -- the games were always fun to watch!
  2. It absolutely is a physically demanding game. As fans, we lose sight of that. I only played 4 years of high school football, but with each of advancement to the next level, the game gets faster, the players get stronger, the hits get more vicious. I was only good enough to maybe try out for a Division III type of school in college, but I thought better of it and didn't want to cripple myself by playing the game beyond high school. For the guys that DO play college football and for the few that actually make it to the NFL, the toll on their bodies must be immense. As fans, we forget that. We just see them on Sunday and read what they say in the newspaper and make judgements. We have NO IDEA about the kind of pain these players contend with.
  3. Dick Cunningham? you don't have to answer.
  4. Winning cures all. Buffalo fans ARE by far the most frustrated group of fans there is. I think this board would be a friendlier and happier place to visit were it not for this long 10-year playoff draught. I hope you don't stay away for long!!
  5. Isn't Lynch one screw-up away from a full year suspension? I don't know if he's worth the risk. I hear the arguments about Lynch's running style being more of a complement to Spiller's running style, but there are other factors to consider with Lynch. He kind of has to re-prove himself after last season. I'm not saying Lynch can't be the guy, but he has to earn it again after last year and after his league suspensions. He is a risk. With Freddy, you KNOW you are getting a dedicated guy who brings it week-in and week-out. If I have to make that decision TODAY, I choose Freddy.
  6. Jackson had 4th highest total yards from scrimmage in NFL history last year -- on an otherwise pitiful offense -- and you want to trade that kind of production away? The more weapons this team has, the better. Gailey has got to feel like a kid in a candy store when he is drawing up plays with the talent in the backfield.
  7. Larry Csonka. Not that he was a jerk or anything like that because he wasn't. It's just that he could kill the Bills at will.
  8. Great post. Those jerks can't have it both ways. Either preseason matters for the offense, the defense, and special teams or it doesn't matter for the offense, the defense, and special teams. The preseason cannot be a harbinger of things to come for one part of the team and not another. Just plain stupid these guys are.
  9. The NFL would do well to offer some different sorts of packages. There's no way I'm paying $350 to have the right to see EVERY NFL game streamed to my computer for the season. However, I MIGHT consider paying $40 or $50 to see every BILLS game streamed to my computer. Why don't they get a little more flexible in their offerings? It's a rhetorical question as I know their number crunchers have probably thought of that already and didn't find it profitable enough. Well, if they want ME as a customer, that's what they'll need to do.
  10. My apologies -- thanks for clarifying concerns -- agree with all.
  11. You are probably correct. I do tend to be conservative with my installations of software. It probably is safe, but anti-virus/anti-malware programs are ALWAYS in catch-up mode in terms of combating new threats, so it's just something to be cognizant of and something to not let your guard down too much about. Edit: I think SDS's main point was less about the safety of it and more about someone profiting by it. I personally don't have a big problem with someone profiting by something like this, but if that's the case, it should at least be openly admitted.
  12. LOL Poz ought to consider a good quality calcium supplement, too, if he hasn't already -- he's been very prone to broken bones.
  13. I think you are probably onto something: http://forums.buyscripts.in/template-modifications/2584-offer-your-own-toolbar-your-site-make-money.html and http://buyscripts.in/make-money.html I simply won't install this sort of stuff. I just don't trust it. I'll live with replays on NFL.com rather than compromise the security of my computer.
  14. Check your back pocket -- is your wallet missing?
  15. I think Gailey may opt to keep Fitz around for the sake of having at least one experienced backup on the roster.
  16. Can a player on IR participate in any manner or is he just completely away from the facility -- not doing ANYTHING with the team? I mean can he at least attend meetings and watch practices and so on?
  17. Chris Brown's blog says that Fred is "pounding the milk" (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/08/29/fred-pounding-the-milk/ However, pasteurized, homogenized milk is not a good source of calcium ... http://www.antiaginglifeextension.com/health_matters_minutes/articles/milk.asp?a=1563&c=&p[\url] Since raw milk is so hard to find, he'd be better off taking good quality calcium lactate tablets which can be found at health food stores or ordered for you by holistic practitioners.
  18. Must be made-in-China knockoffs
  19. It would suck if another AFC East team picked him up for the sole purpose of getting some inside scoop on Buffalo's offense.
  20. Here's a stat I like -- Chan was 13-3 against DIVISION opponents during the regular season his 2 years in Dallas.
  21. As I recall, it was a last-minute decision by Fewell to even start Brohm, as well, so his preparation for that one start was probably haphazard, at best.
  22. Agree -- don't see how this amounts to a cost savings move whatsoever. The bottom line is the team needs to develop players and there is a lot of competition for the available WR positions, so it is only best to let that competition play out and not hold up a spot for a rookie who probably would have only contributed in a limited way his first year anyhow. I think it was probably a wise decision. But it's good news that Easley is walking around. The Bills have kind of been mum on the extent of the injury/surgery. It was interesting how Easley went for a 2nd opinion. What does that mean? Does it mean the Bills wanted him to just rest it and not have the surgery as in a slight tear or cartilage damage only? Perhaps it was Easley himself who opted for the surgery over the Bills doctors initial opinion. I don't know. In any event, there is some good young, but unproven, talent at the WR position and I'm still looking forward to what some of these guys can accomplish.
  23. I was thinking that playoffs could be a possibility, but I have my doubts now. I think what will happen is that the team will get off to a shaky start. I think by mid-season, the team will LEARN how to win and start to string a few wins together. I think they'll make a late-season run at a wildcard spot, but come up a little short. However, the momentum of the strong finish, combined with continuity of coaching staff, and hopefully a strong draft next year, and we'll be talking playoff for sure next season (edit: well, IF there even is a season next year). I'm still holding out hope for this season, but it won't be easy.
