Being a Black QB; It Must be Tough
ChasBB replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clearly, the author is racist. I'm never thinking about race when I come to this site or any other site any other situation, for that matter. I see all sorts of stories about all sort of things and race is never on my mind until some jerk decides to bring it up. In my experience, the person who FIRST interjects race into any discussion or topic, *IS* the racist. Just listen to NPR or watch public television and it's the same thing. They are always talking about race. IMO, that hints that THEY are in fact the racists. -
Roll Call - Who would have preferred to lose?
ChasBB replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never root for a loss. Hope they go 8-8. -
Yes, it deserves its own thread -- thank you! Also, to anyone who doesn't think Fitz is a leader, all you have to do is look at that block he threw -- really laying it on the line there. Also, early in the vid, the guy takes one, perhaps two brutal hits. He's a tough SOB. That defines leadership right there.

What pisses me off is that this was strictly a cash decision by Ralph. Did he honestly think it would have the feel of a home game? The two cities can't stand each other (from a sporting perspective). Was it realistic to think the Bills would have many fans in Toronto? Obviously, their poor play has not helped, but that aside, I don't know that fans in Toronto could ever be won over. Maybe, in time, the Bills could regionalize to include Toronto, but right now this looks like a bad decision.

I've supported Fitzpatrick, but his critical mistakes can no longer be ignored. The team is just not good enough to overcome mistakes. The only way this team wins a game is to play mistake-free football -- and that is just about impossible -- even for good teams.
-
At least teams that play in Europe don't do it year-after-year -- like the Bills must do with Toronto.
-
Agree. This Toronto series needs to come to an end.

No outrage over Merrimans past arrest?
ChasBB replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I visited a Seahawks board shortly after they acquired Lynch and one fan wrote that the Toronto citizen that Lynch struck was also drunk and in the middle of the road. I don't ever recall the event described that way. Interesting how fans can make excuses and see only what they want to see. -
My first prediction in 20 years
ChasBB replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, kind of like Buffalo kicking a field goal against the Raiders to make the score 51-3 instead of 48-3. -
Fitz could grade out with the top rating after 16 weeks and still not be selected to the Pro Bowl. I always think back to how our old WR Bob Chandler got screwed out of the pro bowl year-after-year only because he played for a losing team. The guy could catch anything thrown near to him and always managed to be great with his feet -- seemingly impossibly managing to keep his feet inbounds where others wouldn't be able to do so. He'd have been a repeat pro bowler on another franchise.

I guess my point is that people seem to like to call Ryan a "career backup" and so was Danny White -- at least for 4 years -- main point being that with some guys you really just don't know what you've got for several years. I think Ryan is one of those guys -- someone who has continually improved from season-to-seaon -- with or without starts -- just working hard every week and flying totally under the radar. And now, it's finally all coming together for him -- all the years of multiple teams, systems, coaches. He has finally settled into a situation where his skills are that of a true starting QB in the NFL.
-
Completely agree. I'd trade 5 wins this season for just 1 win -- if it is over the Pats*

There is plenty of disagreement on this board. Do we need a QB or is Fitz the real deal? Will the team ever be successful under Ralph? Is Nix going to turn this thing around or not? Is Whitner worth keeping around or not and on and on and on. All sorts of things to disagree about. However, I'll just say this ONE thing. ANYONE who is still posting on this board after an 0-6 start is a TRUE FAN of the Buffalo Bills. That's all.

Official Bills/Raven's Game day post
ChasBB replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hangartner is a captain, too. Total BS what he did. The defense might have stopped them and made it a very long field goal attempt. The penalty was like handing the Ravens the victory. Nice job, Jeff, good work. -
Bills situation beyond hope
ChasBB replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Tim, you still think Buffalo might lose to a UFL team after today's performance? The fact is the Bills could easily have a 3 or more wins were it not for untimely mistakes. Their record says they are a bad football team -- and they probably are -- but that was a performance today. -

Idiot. 0-5 and he's pulling this stuff -- against the Ravens, no less. -

I have to listen on Internet. What stunt did Johnson pull this time? -
Rename this thread "Official Game Thread" and we'll use this. Nice 3-and-out by the defense!

Geez, forget the glass half-empty argument - your glass has only a drop or two in it. OJ did nothing his first two season, also. CJ is going to be a big-time talent in this league. Troup already is getting a lot of playing time. As for Easley, how can you call a guy that gets hurt a wasted pick? Did you have a crystal ball that said Easley was going to go down to injury? That's just ridiculous. Same for Batten. It's stupid to blame the organization for selecting a player that ends up getting injured and calling the organization stupid for it. I think you'll see more of Carrington and Moats as the season goes on. This may not go down as the best draft this team has ever made, but it is WAY too soon for this kind of criticism.

Ngata expected to be drafted by the Bills
ChasBB replied to Chandemonium's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice review of what went down. I suspect your sources are valid. I believe it was Marv, too. Modrak probably was against the pick and perhaps didn't want to "rock the boat". One of those things I suppose we'll never know. -

Great points. So depressing how this organization was/is run. -

Yes, that is quite ironic that Jauron's system appears to not have fit him. What an organization. -

If the guy who didn't take Ngata is STILL with the organization, then is this REALLY in the past? That's why I want to know Modrak's role here. *IF* Modrak was instrumental in bypassing Ngata, then I want Modrak out of here. If Modrak wanted Ngata, but was overruled by Levy or by committee, or whatever, then Modrak gets a pass. That's why I want NAMES. It is time for the people responsible for past draft debacles to be held accountable (yes, fired, if need be).
